The sleeve of “One Wish” is out

Written by tevensso on August 29, 2006 to .

STOCKHOLM - What is assumed to be the sleeve of Roxette’s upcoming new single “One Wish” has appeared on the Internet. So far there is no confirmation that this indeed is the real sleeve, but The Daily Roxette believes it to be genuine. The picture used is taken in a bowling alley as previously stated.

If in fact this is the real sleeve, it’s quite a coincidence that the designer has chosen to use the same font The Daily Roxette used for the word “Roxette” on our conceptual sleeves! The font is called “Magneto” by the way.

“One Wish” is due out October 4 in Sweden. Radio airplay is set to begin September 20. The known B-side to the single is “The Rox Medley.”

Sascha contributed to this article.

UPDATE: TDR now has confirmation that this is the actual design for the cover of the sleeve.

“One Wish” – Roxette’s long-awaited new single

Written by tevensso on July 26, 2006 to .

STOCKHOLM (UPDATED) - Roxette’s forthcoming single is titled “One Wish” and is described by Per as an uptempo song… and a duet. “It’s short, thank God!” The single is slated to be released September 20 in Sweden and September 22 in Germany, as previously reported. Per also confirms that the B-side is indeed “The Rox Medley.” The single has the catalog number 0946-3718902.

Per is probably the only one who thinks it’s great that the song is short…

Update: Per’s let us know that since people seem to be concerned with the length of the new song, “…it’s 2:59 or 3:01 – depending on the mood!”

New Roxette medley appears on iTunes, reaches #1

Written by roxeteer on July 26, 2006 to .

The first new Roxette single in more than three years is now for sale on iTunes Music Store. The single contains one song which is a medley of the biggest Roxette hits remixed with a dance beat.

Earlier it was announced that the song would only be released as a radio promo and later as a b-side of a new single.

Update July 26: The medley reached #1 on iTunes Sweden yesterday beating the ever-so-popular “Boten Anna” by Basshunter, who also is from Halmstad by the way.

New Roxette single released

Written by tevensso on June 15, 2006 to .

STOCKHOLM (UPDATED) - In all quietness and secrecy a new single by Roxette has been released. This single is called “The Rox Medley” and consists of a medley, newly remixed by Clarence Öfwerman, Christoffer Lundquist and Jimmy Monell (Shooting Star) at Christoffer’s studio the Aerosol Grey Machine.

The songs included in the medley are “The Look,” “Joyride,” “Listen to Your Heart,” “Dangerous,” “It Must Have Been Love” and “Fading Like a Flower (Every Time You Leave).”

This is, however, a radio release only, and according to the info sheet distributed with the promo CD, something to start the Rox20 celebration with. The record’s call number is CDPRO 4392.

Update Jun. 16: This track will be publicly available as the B-side of the new single this fall.

EMI Brazil includes “My Moments” double-CD in Roxette discography

Written by shaolinda on November 1, 2005 to .

RIO DE JANEIRO - Have you heard the Roxette song “Black Snake”? How about “Bath of Kisses”? No?!? Well, how about “Olodum Ologbom” or “Love is Infinite”?

All of these songs, and more, are included on a Roxette double-CD album entitled “Meus Momentos” (My Moments) that EMI Brazil is including in its online discography of material released in Brazil – a country where Roxette has enjoyed tremendous success and continues to have immense name recognition.

However, far from being a rare gem for collectors to snatch up, this is instead simply a rather obvious mistake. The first clue is that the cover art looks strangely similar to that of Don’t Bore Us, Get to the Chorus.

But it’s the tracklist for Disc Two where things get even more absurd, as all the tracks seem to be representative of music from a region of Brazil named Bahia, where many slaves were brought from Africa. Instead of Roxette, TDR has discovered that many of the songs belong to a group called Olodum.
