EMI Brazil includes “My Moments” double-CD in Roxette discography

Written by shaolinda on November 1, 2005 to .

RIO DE JANEIRO - Have you heard the Roxette song “Black Snake”? How about “Bath of Kisses”? No?!? Well, how about “Olodum Ologbom” or “Love is Infinite”?

All of these songs, and more, are included on a Roxette double-CD album entitled “Meus Momentos” (My Moments) that EMI Brazil is including in its online discography of material released in Brazil – a country where Roxette has enjoyed tremendous success and continues to have immense name recognition.

However, far from being a rare gem for collectors to snatch up, this is instead simply a rather obvious mistake. The first clue is that the cover art looks strangely similar to that of Don’t Bore Us, Get to the Chorus.

But it’s the tracklist for Disc Two where things get even more absurd, as all the tracks seem to be representative of music from a region of Brazil named Bahia, where many slaves were brought from Africa. Instead of Roxette, TDR has discovered that many of the songs belong to a group called Olodum.

@TDR editors or responsible personel: Just wanted to point out that there’s a mispelling in the word “portuguese” in the phrase (Mostly in Portugese) beside the EMI Brazil web link. The letter “u” should be added in the word between the g and the e. Glad to help. :-)

Take care!

Thanks, fixed.

@roxeteer: Any time. :-)

Omg, how can a company like EMI make such a mistake? :S

ROFL!

@colinvdbel: Well, It is EMI after all... aren’t they known for making misstakes? *smile*

this made front page because..............?

Don’t be too hard on EMI Brazil ... they’ve done MUCH more than other EMI offices to promote Roxette over the years.

Yes, Lars is right. (BTW, how are you Lars? Good to hear from you).

I have Globo (a very well known brazilian channel) here in the New York (get it through satellite) and I get to hear Roxette songs being played on different TV shows and even in soap operas on that channel. Furthermore, radio stations constanly play roxette songs and people in Brazil know about Roxette very well.

So, my point is that EMI Brazil must be doing somehting right in promoting Roxette and related projects.

P.S.: I’m brazilian. :-)

Take care!

The most nice thing is the songs name. C’mon what is that????
We sent emails last year tellig them about this mistake. And they didn’t anythig to repair that.

That’s the reason why we don’t have singles here and a lot of other things.

Good work EMI Brazil! Hope you can go to heal!
Fernanda

I agree with Fernanda!!!

it’s just EMI Brazil...today I called them about SOAP and they didn’t have a heck of a clue about it.

As usual... they never know anything

I can’t help but laugh. LOL

@Tinytim...did you ask them if they remember who they are????

I’m only praying to doesn’t happen the same as The Change. It was like a fortune-hunting to buy that.

???????

I’m not sure, but I think it’s a OLODUM (famous band form Bahia) record. I’ve seen that ages ago, but I think they didn’t read the e-mail I sent. Typical of EMI-Brazil.
Had a good laugh when I saw this ;)
