No June Afternoon, Or SDLHA, or YDUM- shame, but good tracklisting anyway. Glad Stars is on there though, and Almost Unreal- fab really

Run to you instead of The Big L. I don’t like it.
And no June Afternoon? Now it’s impossible to go to a record store and buy a (non second hand) record with that song. Same with Opp nox.
But I like the cover, and that some of the songs are remixes.
gyllene_tjej said on August 29, 2006 14:09:
no big surprises here, lol ;) and well, the cover... is it here to stay? or is it still a promo concept?

where is YDUM? you don´t seem to know i need it so much in this tracklisting! where´s neverending love!

A 20 years celebration compilation with hits from 1989 — 2006 ... someone isn’t that good in maths, I reckon. Where the hell is NEVERENDING LOVE?
whateveriam said on August 29, 2006 14:18:
I don’t care, cos at the end of the day, I’m not going to buy it- I’m sticking with the Box, and possibly the singles...
On observation though (I just sprinted upstairs and got my copy of it), this compilation has almost exactly the same tracklisting as DBUGTTC. The only things missing are JA,YDUM, The Big L., Vulnerable, SDLHA, and IDWTGH. Once those have gone, it is in exactly the same order, just with Run To You, and other bits and bobs.
Wicf said on August 29, 2006 14:18:
I think it’s a fake tracklist... If they’re celebrating 20 years of existence, why isn’t there Neverending Love? And what about YDUM? And why is it (again) in chronological order?

So, just a very few demos we have never heard...while others have been on the i-net/bootlegs for ages, like cry, love spins etc.
BTW, 7Twenty7 demo was released on some single...why is it indicated with a * as previously unreleased? Must be another version then :-)
And...as it shows, Reveal will be the 2nd single :-)

Well. I like it.
I think Neverending love don´t are in tracklist because was not a big success like the other musics.
But.. what to do?
It´s another greatests ... no much to do...
m-cvk said on August 29, 2006 14:39:
@GT_85 > no, that is not true, as they were never released ’officially’, they could be found on bootlegs or the i-net.
officially released (do not why they have been marked as unreleased unless it is a different version:
- 7Twenty7 3.25 (Demo)
- Always Breaking My Heart 3.05 (Demo)
from bootlegs/i-net > illegal versions of:
- All I Ever Wanted 4.25 (Demo)
- Cry 5.05 (Demo)
- New World 4.33 (Demo)
- Help! 2.56 (From The Abbey Road Sessions)
- Love Spins 3:31 (Demo)
new releases
- reveal
- One Wish (Single A-side/Recorded 2006) 3.30
- Better Off On Her Own 2.48 (Demo) > a demo was never released, only the final version
- Anyone/I Love How You Love Me 4.22 (Demo)
- Myth 4.24 (Demo)

These are solo songs - aren’t they ?? All I ever wanted appeared in Swedish on Marie’s Best of album and Always Breaking My Heart was on a single of a TWATG song isn’t it ??
And Per mentioned all the Looks Sharp! Demos ! Where are they ?? Ones such as The Look and It Must Have Been Love ??? Where are they ????
gyllene_tjej said on August 29, 2006 14:43:
oh, please no....then Myth and Staring at the ground demo would be the ONLYunheard songs...
It can’t be true....where are the 14 really UNRELEASED songs?
I’m really disappointed - if that’s what rox box is going to be like then it is really too much fuss about nothing special :(:(
scionrx said on August 29, 2006 14:43:
What the hell Always Breaking My Heart doing in that list????
I will pray to that not come truth.
whateveriam said on August 29, 2006 14:44:
’Always Breaking my Heart’ is on a Belinda Carlisle album.
Maybe its because they tried them themselves before passing them over? In which case, we haven’t heard it, have we?
room-service said on August 29, 2006 14:46:
@GT_85: Only 1 or 2 of these songs were released officially (but perhaps in a differnet demo-version), all the other just appear on bootlegs.
But of course the tracklist of the box is a big big frustration for fans :-(
thousand of album-tracks, which are still available in stores. B-sides would have been ok, because not every fan has every single - but normal album-tracks? I hope this is not true!
Secretkeeper81 said on August 29, 2006 14:47:
Demos from LookSharp–> Cry maybe?
Anyway, I’m very disappointed with this tracklisting of the Rox-Box since it seems to be featuring mostly album tracks from all the official releases.. that I already own! How is that intended to be for fans when they perfectly know we already own their previously released albums? Oh well..
Anyway, I like the sleeve of the Roxette Hits Collection!
GT_85 said on August 29, 2006 14:47:
There are so many unheard demos, like the Big L. But we get demos that’s allready has been on singles And EP’s? Hope this is not the real one. But, who would make a fake tracklist?

The RoxBox ’86-’06,” a special treat for true fans who thought “they had everything [in their collections].”
where on earth are these goodies?

@chrisjankunas I totally agree with you. It would have been better to have a 2CD set with the 14 unreleased tracks plus the DVD (or a dual disc even) but who needs all that again.
Also it would have been fair if we got tracks released only on early vinyls in cd quality such as ’chances (dancehall version)’.... I really hope it’s a wrong/fake tracklist.

It’s so so so sad!!! it stinks out !!
I was waiting the hits! but in different versions, maybe ac mix or something like that. 14 real unreleased tracks! and some tracks in live, or crush on you remixes, ...
Per has a lot of hidden tracks !
I don’t know if I’ll buy this!! maybe I’ll download the 4 songs I don’t have, and the unplugged!
It’s so sad!! Roxette is a great band, but this is a stupid release!

19 Reveal (Single A-side/Recorded 2006) 4.00 *
20 One Wish (Single A-side/Recorded 2006) 3.30 *
Why are these lengths different anyway????
Didn’t even include Entering Your heart (Extended Version) which I consider rarer that Perfect Day :(

Difference is that the Enigma box is an an album boxset like Marie’s Guld set. This was thought to be for those that ALREADY had the albums.
It’s just that Per said “I’m sure” to possible remastered albums - WHO will need that with this box?

Disappointment is a good word to use here. >:-(

Im sorry Roxette but this is the first time you REALLY dissapont me. What is so special/rare with a box full of album tracks that “real fans” already have? You could have done it so much better ( The Big L demo, Crush On You remix, Stars demo hmm...The Centre Of The Heart HAND version, SDLHA C!B!B! version..) Now all the fans are dissapointed because theres only a couple of new songs we havent already heard. This is not exclusive material at all and NOT FUN! gyllene_tjej said on August 29, 2006 16:09:

The most disappointing thing for me is that they are not able to put this new video on the DVD! I just don’t get it!
And to the disappointed fans: I think it’s not Pers and Maries fault that some of the 14 tracks were already released on bootlegs!
ncurran said on August 29, 2006 16:26:
To be fair, the box does seem like a pretty comprehensive spread of their career and i can imagine putting each one of the CDs on and it running very smoothly to the end. BUT i am a little disappointed that it was claimed beforehand that there were 14 unreleased songs. I wasnt naive enough to think they would be 14 totally new songs, but its a little ridiculous that Per/EMI dont even seem to know which of their tracks have been released. A few of those tracks highlighted as being unreleased have been officially released as B-sides etc.
With a little more work and imagination it could have been a release that excited the fans a lot more. What about one of the COY remixes? Perhaps a live track from each of their tours? The original Stars/Big L demos which are so different from the final versions?
There are a few songs that i will be really happy to have on CD, such as “Myth” and “Help” from the abbey road sessions, but overall it is a bit of a disappointment. I just hope that it is a really nicely presented package that makes it worth buying. Ultimately the box is something that only hardcore fans will buy and it is a bit of a let down for them.
Still happy that Roxette are back though! and if Per is reading I hope he isnt too disheartened by the reaction...the fact that people get so emotional and uptight about releases like this proves that they still care about the band, which is hopefully what he wants!

Cry 5.05 (Demo) - I have it in bad quality -
Love Spins 3:31 (Demo) - I have it in bad quality -
Always Breaking My Heart 3.05 (Demo) - New demo for me!? -
Help! 2.56 (From The Abbey Road Sessions) - Maybe I have it... -
Staring At The Ground 3.50 (Demo) * - New demo for me! - cool
7Twenty7 3.25 (Demo) - I have it... -
Anyone/I Love How You Love Me 4.22 (Demo) * - New demo for me! - yay
Myth 4.24 (Demo) * - New demo for me! - cool
New World 4.33 (Demo) * - Maybe I have it... -
Better Off On Her Own 2.48 (Demo) * - Maybe I have it... -
Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla [You Broke My Heart] 4:36 (Demo) * - New demo for me!
All I Ever Wanted 4.25 (Demo) * - Maybe I have it... -

Theres something wrong with the “Previously unreleased recording” marks. Because some have been released before as b-sides:
“Always Breaking My Heart” demo
“7 twenty 7” demo
Except for diferent versions, theres only 1,5 song I don’t know: “Myth” and “I Love How You Love Me”. I really hoped there’d be more new titles in the box.
And The GH doestn’t contain “Fireworks” again. It also wasn’t on the other compilaitions, Per must really hate this song ey:)
I’m gonna buy all of it to keep my collection complete, but 5 CD’s and 1 DVD for 3,5 new titles is a bit dissapointing.

But that is just one aspect that makes me upset. The tracklisting. What?! I mean c’mon Per. The box is FOR YOUR FANS. Your fans have 97% of the “gems” inside. Is it too late to re-think it? I would gladly wait another month or six to get stuff that I personally don’t have.
Its the age of the internet and even long before that, your fans have been passing around most of these “rare” tracks inra-fan club and mailing lists. That is how hardcore most of us are, we expect you to be the same way with your own work and the ROX BOX.

Being a fan, I already own most of it (refers to the non-unplugged part of the DVD as well). The times when I would’ve bought the Box & DVD without hesitation are over.

I still hope this is NOT the official tracklist. I always thought an unreleased song is a song that fans have never heard before, and I’ve heard the demo of Cry (which is btw much better than the final version) couple of times :(
There were 40 songs recorded for HAND and 40 songs for LS (or Joyride?), so I think there are many unreleased tracks, but we’re never gonna hear them... (Per’s once said that there are many songs left or something like that)
Ronney said on August 29, 2006 17:45:
another conclusion: There will probably be 15 tracks of the Unplugged performance. (The DVD says To Be Anounced and from there the video’s are numbered, starting with 16)

01_The Look
02_Watercolours In The Rain
03_Hotblooded
04_I Never Loved A Man
05_Dangerous
06_Cry
07_It Must Have Been Love

—— THE UNPLUGGED HITS (mtv unplugged and abbey road session)
—— THE LIVE HITS (different live recordings)
—— IN THE MIX 2006 (new remixes by up to date DJs)
—— THE DEMO HITS (incl. rare stuff)
3 DVDs
—— THE VIDEO HITS (all Rox music videos ever made)
—— MTV UNPLUGGED (the full version)
—— ON THE ROX–ROAD (new and old live & backstage material)

Maybe we’ll get it in 5 years when Roxette “celebrates” their 25th birthday ;)

“Most of the demos will be from the well known songs, like ’The Look,’ ’Listen To Your Heart’ and ’It Must Have Been Love.’ Famous songs that Marie is singing, I will be present in the demos. I want all the demos to be enjoyable, and not being there just for the sake of being there.”
“Per certainly doesn’t have a shortage of demos to choose from. “We did eight, nine demos for the ’Look Sharp!’ album. ’Silver Blue’ was there, ’One Is Such A Lonely Number’ was there. We have a couple of tracks from those sessions that are fantastic, like ’Sleeping Single’ and ’Dance Away.’ And there’s a demo for ’Cry’ which is totally different from the album version. I want to have those demos on the album because they mean so much to me and they are enjoyable to listen to.”
* SIGH * Not one famous song that Marie sings is included. What happened to the bonus cd of 20 demos???

I understand that he wants this box to be bought by non-fans, but it’s very rude and very unprofessional at the same time to ignore the endless fan-lists and endless requests that have been here on tdr in the last year. Many of them weren’t even out of place. I mean, why does he read tdr if not for feedback?? I don’t understand him, honestly. Is it me or he did become more and more full of himself as the time went by? And also more and more stupid and less responsive and always in a hurry, always very avid to make a new project?! I don’t get it. Did he lose all the good taste??
WHAT KIND OF ART COLLECTOR IS HE AS LONG AS HE AGREES WITH SUCH CRAPY PICTURES?? AND HOW SHOULD HE GET MORE SUCCESSFUL AS LONG AS HE DOES NOTHING TO KEEP THE FAN BASE? What’s happening with him? I lost all the trust in his wittiness.

Why did Per spend money on (probalby very expensive) pictures from Anton Corbijn for the SOAP album (which was important too, don’t get me wrong) and use pictures taken in 1995 for a 20 years celebration box at the same time? Is this really all about money?

I’m dissapointed in the RoxBox myself, it seems only one or 2 unreleased songs, and a whole bunch of normal album trax. I’ll buy it anyway - it IS Roxette, after all.
I’m dissapionted in the GH album too - Neverending Love isn’t on it!!!! - that song started their career!
I love the cover to the single.
Does anyone have the GH cover in a bigger format - I love that pic of Marie in the background laughing - I only have a pic of that session where her mouth is closed... Anyone willing to help me. Paste a link or e-mail me at [email protected]
Thanx!!!

“EMI doesn’t release this for the few fans who have everything. I guess it’s just meant for those people who only have one album or something like that. “
Well thats not what we were told....it was supposed to be for the fans who had everything remember. Yet there are over 50 normal album tracks that we already have. Why not just release remastered copies of all the old albums in a box set with bonus tracks, something like marie’s. If they really cant offer rare remixes, live performances, etc then this option would have been preferable.
Also as this was for the fan that has everything apparently, why did Per not ask us what we wanted in the box? Some kind of consultation with the fans couldve produced a much more creative and interesting tracklist. It might have been more time consuming and difficult to coordinate, but it seems like EMI/Per have gone for the quick buck rather than putting any real effort into it.

Enjoy what? I have enjoyed this songs for at least 15 years and in four different compilations, this is SHAMEFUL, I really don‘t know whom advice them but this is SO SO BAD even for the HARDCORE fans I am so dissapointed! I will not buy it, but at least I hope the single is good and not another fill in song!

07 Always Breaking My Heart 3.05 (Demo) *
it was released on Per”s single “Do you wanna be my baby” (1997), so why do they consider it as a new song?
GT_85 said on August 29, 2006 18:55:
If I want those songs I guess it would be cheaper to buy their old albums. You can buy “Look Sharp!” and “joyride” and those for like 10$. You pretty much get all these songs if you buy the albums. But, you get better songs, like “Fingertips” and “The Big L”, instead of “Love Spins demo”.
Where are all the live tracks? From Room Service and other tours. Where is Monster Hangover? Where is Ghost in the house? The unheard demos, like Big L, Centre of the heart, must have been love? What will the booklet contain? Where is the spanish version of “You don’t understand me”?
I would love to hear Per answer those questions.
ncurran said on August 29, 2006 18:56:

I think it’s quite strange that Fingertips’93 and Fireworks aren’t on the Box, but the Videos are featured! Not to talk about some of the “previously unreleased” marks...
Something nice for a change:
1. We’ll get 2 brandnew songs!
2. We’ll get longer versions of One Wish (3.01/3.30) and Reveal (3.45/4.00) with the box!
3. Both songs will be released as singles!
4. We’ll get a video by Jonas Åkerlund. Maybe boring, maybe strange, but not cheap!
;-)

Well, the only thing I can say is that I don’t like the RoxBox tracklist....but It’s all there is....
Most of our rare songs are ¿illegal? copies. So I understand they are included on the box. I don’t know if they are really illegal because I’ve paid money in a regular CD-store for a bootleg edited by a record company......so.......are they illegal?????????
But i really think there isn’t “a lot of new stuff for hard fans.
I think EMI must call this BOX as “BAD TASTE DAY” because Per’s Bad Air Day is better than this Box and ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ IT’S FREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
I think EMI don’t care Roxette since Don’t Bore Us and it’s really possible they won’t success anymore with EMI.
I’m waiting for WARNER to solve this problem ;o)
In my honest opinion....I’m going to buy this Box because I’m a really old fan and I feel sorrow and pity (Is it the same?).

A “hit” is a song with an international success, not a local success. Almost unreal was not a hit. A great song but not a hit. Even Fireworks had more success.
Anyway, “A thing about you” wasn´t a hit and “You don´t understand me” was a big hit...
I don´t like the tracklist of the two releases. No lives, no rare songs, almost no demos, no remixes...nothing!
It will be a great flop...

“Almost unreal” was not really a flop, it reached the Top 20 in 8 european countries (including Top 10 in UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway), Top 10 in many south american countries (including Brazil and Argentina) and the Top 20 in also important markets Japan, Australia and South Africa.
“Fireworks” was No.1 in South Africa, Top 10 in Ireland, Top 20 in Finland and Austria and UK Top 30. But it didn’t chart as high in other countries, not even in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Holland, Japan,....

And believe me, true fans are really good in searching rarities on net, so it´s only question of time to collect all these songs. And fans are discussing about this songs here in Small Talk. Don´t forget that Per is also reader of TDR. So he must know that this Rox Box tracklist is ........

OK, my Winamp shows 4.42 on the Chris Lord-Alge Re-Remix; could it be that eventually?
Otherwise I’m also disappointed; this seems to be rather for general public than for hardcore fans; only 5 songs of the 78 I don’t have, OK, 7 with the new ones on Roxette Hits.
Still no info about the deluxe edition though; will we eventually get CBB Live or will it be again the same regular videos repeated?

And we will go like: ” Oh, we love Roxette and everything, and we will buy the box and everything, and the greatest hits. and we will already start queuing and everything to get this lovely pearl signed and everything.”
no comments, off for tonight... hoping for a better tomorrow

All videos ever made and more - 2001
The pop and ballad hits - 2003
A Collection of Roxette Hits (deluxe) - 2006
The Rox Box - 2006
Within 5 years we get the same videos 4 times!!!
It is unbelievable.
And by the way, a swedish artist, Magnus Uggla, did a song (in swedish) last year called “Greatest Hits”. That song was about that Per is greedy, he’s not doing anything but to realese old songs on new GH albums. And the swedish fans (the 14-16 yo who became fans after Mazarin) really hates mr Uggla cos of that. Now, one year later we all know who was right.

It´s that simple:
Casual buyers don´t have any interest in songs like “myth” or “cry” demos.
Fans, on the other hand, have to pay for lots, lots of songs and videos they have, several times, already paid for.
So, who it´s the compilation made for?

the german group „Alphaville“ (Forever young, Big in Japan, Sounds like a melody) released for their 20th anniversary a 8-CD-Box with 125 songs, called “Dreamscapes” … and it was really a DREAM !!!
Not a single song was released in this form before.
43 never-heard-before-songs (some left-overs and some totally new material)
14 live songs
all B-side-songs ever released
some Remixes
and the rest: demos to nearly all album tracks!
this was a real gift & pleasure for all the fans!!!!
they also did a tour after this box, and played a couple of these 43 unreleased songs live.
what’s the problem for Roxette to do s.th. similar?
Roxette stated in the early 90’s, that they are – on first hand – a live-band.
The intention behind a band was – for them – to play live and to perform the songs in front of the people. In my opinion live-releases would fit this very well. But sadly they stopped releasing live-recordings with the Crash! Boom! Bang! album (except from “Fading” on O’Nox single).
Why?
No song from the CBB tour was ever released!
Only one from the RS tour!
There are also very interesting live recordings from the Look Sharp! tour back in ’89.
No live-DVD like Gyllene did it, or Marie solo, or Per solo. Why?
Can’t understand it!
What would Per think, if he had – as a record collector, as he is – to buy the same songs & videos over and over again ???
He would like to hear and to own unreleased material from his idols like The Beatles, The Birds, Sex Pistols or whatever…
So why is he doing this crap to us?
WHY ???????????????????????????????

I’ve been out for a long time from Roxette, but with the release of the Rox Box I had a chance to recover the old times... Now, looking at the tracklist, I have to thank Per for all the money he has taken from us. He is a businessman, a really good one, and he knows how to play with fan’s dreams. I think he is the only responsible person for this crap, and for everybody: Per WAS as god for me until now.
I think it is too much, and I am, of course, not going to buy it, and I recomend to everybody to do the same. We don’t deserve it, c’mon. I think this is the end of a neverending love for Roxette from me, I’m tired of all of this. Thanks Per and thanks to everybody involved in this CRAP.

4 I never loved a man
5. Cry
6. It must have been love
7. Fingertips
8. Queen of rain
9. Heart of gold
10. Church of your heart
11. Listen to your heart
12. Here comes the weekend
13. Joyride
14. So you wanna be a rock’n’roll star
Bonus track: Dangerous.

Both together again recording 2 new sonsg after all marie has gone throw, it was soemthing great but after reading the tracklist i feel dissapointed. I guess that after listening to the new song i will be extreamly happy again, couse after all i’ve allready been more than 15 years stuck to their music and i guess thats something that will never change. I still get excited when i listen to the look, joyride or any other rox song in the radio. But its sad, that a box that was suposdly going to be something big for fans who have been following roxettes work for the last 20 years is just a new greatest hits with some allready known demos and tracks.
They could have put lots of material, i’m sure that they have great live recordings, Marie has an incredible voice singing live, why can’t they put some of those in the box?? I just can’t understand it.
Also i can’t undestand why do we get again and again all the videos on the dvd. I would preffer live material, like a remastered version of live ism, a dvd version of crash boom bang live, or old tv programs, intead of the same material again and again.
I love spending my time video, or it must have been love one but not again please, I allready have 2 dvds with it.

I can tell you guys why we complain on Per and not Marie. Per decides 99% in Roxette.
Do you guys think it was Marie who wanted Jens Jansson to play drums on the new recordings? Why not Pelle Alsing? They’ve worked together for years! And when a band is celebrating an anniversary I think at least some of the classic band member should have joined them (Jonas Isaksson, Anders Herrlin, Pelle A. etc.)
Do you think it was Marie who wanted to record the new songs in a little studio in Skåne instead of recording them (close to) home in Stockholm?
The whole concept with the new songs fells, to me, like a Per Gessle record, with Marie. Not a Roxette. Cos this is like Mazarin, F5F and SOAP.

I’m a big fan since the Look Sharp!-days back in ’89/’90. In the first years it was really interesting and I was really excited for the new releases. Every single I bought in the record store was like a birthday present. A new album was like christmas, birthday and all others holidays together.
But then it slowly started to repeat itself. I think the first one in this direction was the “Rarities” CD in ’95. There was only one Mix for me (Dressed for success) which I didn’t own before. And then it really started with “Have a nice day”. I had to buy it twice because of the 3 spanish bonus tracks. Then the US Greatest Hits from 2000, which made the was to my CD player only one time. Just bought it, to have it in my collection. “Room Service”, two times because of the Entering (Extended Version). Then the useless “Ballad & Pop Hits” from 2002/03. Instead it would have been better to release a 2-CD-Best-of-set with all (!) singles including Neverending, Soul, I call, Fingertips’ 93, Fireworks, She doesn’t, etc... But anyway: I bought the “Ballad & Pop Hits”. Twice! ’Cause in Germany we had a special release without the bonus EP’s. Instead 17 songs on “Ballad Hits” and 19 songs on “Pop Hits”. “Every day” for example was never released in Germany. So I had to buy the international Version with the EP’s. I also wanted to have all the bonus songs from “Kärlekens Guld” but this was the first time, I didn’t buy the release, ’cause I thought it’s stupid to get the whole bunch of albums again. Then in 2003, there was “Mazarin” –> again 2 copies for me, ’cause there was this DVD in one of them. I skipped all the Digi-Packs from Gyllene Tiders remastered re-releases in 2004. Also with Son of a plumber, I only bought the normal CD, not the LP and not the extra-pages-in-booklet-version. And now again a third greatest hits album, with exactly the same songs released on the 2 before? And furthermore in 3 different versions!!!
And the tip of the iceberg is the RoxBox. The long awaited (7 years, since it was first mentioned in 1999) collection of rarities (?) and gifts (?) to all the fans.
Did I misunderstand s.th.?
In the beginning I was excited in a positive way about every new release. It would enrich my collection.
Nowadays I’m excited in a negative way. Which song will be included, which I already own four or five times in my collection!
Go on Per & EMI with this releasing policy, and I will look for a band, which could release exciting new material with every new CD.
I will NOT buy this stupid RoxBox!

Are you serious? Almost Unreal was much more successful than Fireworks or YDUM, and it WAS NOT a local hit. It was the last UK Top 10 hit (if you don’t consider the re-issue of IMHBL), it peaked at #17 in Australia, #19 in Japan, #13 in Canada, and it at least broke the Bilboard Hot 100.
The example of a local hit is Salvation (Finnland).

Horrible! Frustrating! Messed up!
They are re-releasing like 3 albums we already have in the box. That makes no sense. It’s just horrible. Since when are we getting 14 unreleased song? At least one of the cds should be reserved for real rare and unknown songs for the real fans.
I CAN PRETTY MUCH MAKE 3 CD’s WITH MOST OF THE SONGS ON THAT BOX LIST RIGHT NOW.
Just One Wish, Reveal, Myth, Staring At The Ground Demo and a couple other songs on that list are new or unreleased or never heard before.
And how come the One Wish video will not be included in the video DVD ? It makes no sense at all.
Unless all these songs are remastered to a 5.1 audio format, this will be a really horrible insulting investment for those who decide to pay for it.
Some of the songs on these box i already have on at least 3 different original CD releases.
For God’s sake, Mr. Per, since you read this, I, we here at TDR, the real fans, ask you to change this tracklist and honor waht you said about the Roxbox being a real goodie for the true fans. As you can see, this tracklisting has pretty much turned off about 250 real Roxette fans that are part of the TDR community.
If this tracklist stands as it is and is not changed before the release of the box, it will be assumed that the,on average, 250 REAL Roxettefans here at TDR that have voiced their frustration and disapointments, are merely meaningless to Roxette.
Sad and really hoping for a meaningful chance to the tracklisting of the RoxBox.
P.S.: Sorry about the above sentence with capital letters.
Take care!

THE ROX BOX - 78 TRACKS
ALBUM TRACKS: 55
4 songs from “Pearls of Passion”
6 songs from “Look Sharp!”
1 song from “Pretty Woman Soundtrack”
9 songs from “Joyride”
7 songs from “Tourism”
1 song from “Super Mario Bros. Soundtrack”
6 songs from “Crash! Boom! Bang!”
4 songs from “Don’t Bore Us - Get to the Chorus!”
8 songs from “Have A Nice Day”
5 songs from “Room Service”
2 songs from “The Ballad Hits”
2 songs from “The Pop Hits”
B-SIDES, DEMOS, OUTTAKES AND NEW SONGS: 23
“Previously unreleased songs”: 14
B-sides and outtakes: 9
Well... What can I say?
I’m also very disappointed about the DVD. Music videos AGAIN? Hmm.

I think they should remove a disc from the compilation and add one from those posted somewhere up here incluiding the “tired” version from CBB! of “She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”, the “The Centre Of The Heart” version from HAND and all those rarities we have been longing to hear for AGES! What about the “Crush on you” remixes?

Some suggestions:
1) Could put all the demos on one CD? Some people do not like to listen to demos, so you could have it on a separate CD, right?
2) Could we make two, double sided DVD? That way you could put some live clips on the video. One double sided DVD of MTV live, one double sided DVD for music videos & live clips. Please?
3) Could we add more demos? Especially the demos for the two new songs?
4) Could we add the songs from Don’t Bore Us...? (I mean the “new songs” from those CDs? – June Afternoon, She doesn’t live here anymore, You don’t understand me).
5) Excellent concept from above!

Gosh – it always upsets me when I see fans of something speak so negatively. But I reluctantly agree that the release of The Rox Box is very disappointing.
Assuming that this is the last full-scale release and career retrospective, there should have been a lot more thought put into the content.
Here’s my idea of what should have been included
CDs
1. The standard release of the new Hits album
2. A selection of hit album tracks/non-singles
3. Demos
4. Unreleased tracks / “Rarities”
5. A selection of their best live performances
DVD
1. All of the videos (hold off for One Wish and Reveal)
2. Concert highlights
2A. Live-Ism and Look Sharp! Live videos on DVD
3. Roxette: Unplugged
4. All the Roxette films (remastered and in one place)
MISC
1. Some sort of collectible trinket
Fans will shell out the money for the Rox Box. That’s what fans do. Rather than making the fans roll their eyes and grown just so they can have everything, why not include EVERYTHING? It may bump up the price a bit, but if it is TRULY worth the price, the fans will pay for it.

I’m dissapointed about the Rox Box, too. There is nothing really special on it, except Myth. No “Monster Hangover (e.g.), no Live recordings....
Again, we get all the “videos, ever made and more”. But this time, “More” is the Unplugged Session from MTV, which is included on the same DVD. Sounds like we get a great picture quality!
Probably the next Roxette release will be a “Best-Of” in five years. “Rox 25” or something.
Won’t buy this Box, won’t buy any further “Best-Of” releases, too.

If they’re just gonna put demo’s we already know on there, they could have at least included ’Dancing on the Nightwire!’
Hehe, just another ol’ complaint for ya Per mate
(though I imagine he probably got the gist of fan reaction just from reading the first 10 messages of the first page :P)
Looking forward to the ’staring at the ground’ demo though!

FANTASTIC!!!! Not the news but the fans reactions I have been laughing so hard :)
Actually this is one of my favs from whateveriam:
Shows you how misguided they are. They must think we are happy to have our record collections sold back to us in plush packaging LMAO!!!
You guys are a riot!!!
As for this news I totally new this would happen!! I just knew that there would be nothing special in it I had a gut feeling.
I just can’t understand if they aren’t doing this for the fans then who are they doing it for? The 10 regular people who might buy it?!! I mean seriously who the hell wants a DVD with all the videos on there again!!! And not include One Wish??! It is the height of craziness!! OMG I am like sooooo over having Roxette DVD’s only ever being the videos. My Gosh surely they could have put together some new footage in the studio, some old rare footage stuff, live takes etc...
And MTV Unplugged will surely NOT include the whole thing, just you watch!

And I think it’s official Per is a crack head that can be the only explanation for this disgrace!!!

Read this “Tracklist” yesterday in the bus on my way home after 12 hours working day and thought that I am “dreaming”. This is a joke, doesn’t it...??? Hopefully this tracklist is not the real one...

How about a petition not to release the ROX BOX at all?
I guess it´s too late to change the tracklisting, but maybe it´s not too late to stop production. And, to be honest: To me, NO Rox Box seems to be the better alternative than THIS Rox Box...
:-(
chrisjankunas said on August 30, 2006 07:55:
Hmmm I would rather a petition to restart the Roxette info drought. I don’t think we as fans could stomach any more “info” regarding this batch of releases.

If THIS is really true, it IS really a big disappointment!!! This is not for fans, this is CASH BOOM BANK!!!
Marie & Per, I’m still a big fan, but you won’t get my money for this. There are many ways today to get the few songs, that we (fans) really do not have!

Indeed great comment this one ’Shows you how misguided they are. They must think we are happy to have our record collections sold back to us in plush packaging LMAO!!!’
Am rather tempted to sell my entire collection as opposed to buying ANY off that bit of repeats in a fancy package (or not even that, judging from the ONE WISH cover).

I wasn’t gonna read these comments, but after spending the last 10 mins flicking through, all I can say is “I’m shocked”. If was Per & Marie, I’d give up music now, and blame all you lot. Did you really expect 4 disc set of unreleased tracks. I didn’t. It’s all got a little out of hand. People are pissed off, yes, but come on people.
Chill a little, grab a beer, relax. It’s still summer.
Wicf said on August 30, 2006 08:21:
Nobody expected 4 discs of unreleased tracks. But there should’ve been at least 14 unreleased tracks on Rox-Box... And why did they come up with this: “for true fans who thought they had everything” (or something like that).
gyllene_tjej said on August 30, 2006 08:34:
guess what - i had a dream tonight. The whole TDR front page was sprayed black, it said “It’s a joke” all over the place...the only clean spot was where it stood “We’re soon back with the real tracklist”.
But then I woke up, dragged myself here in front of the PC, just to see nothing has changed.
Fans do deserve sonething better... I’d also wait longer if only the re-making of the box had the slightest chance of being done...
imazombieinthem... said on August 30, 2006 09:10:
Another disapointed fan here.
So many tracks missing that we were all hoping to hear :(
I dont think its fair to blame Per outright for this. If he chose the listing thats fine, but I think EMI have the final say.
I think we will hear the COY remixes. Im sure there will be a Bad Hair Day releases like SOAP.
But shit, I expected better.
pwbbounce (moderator) said on August 30, 2006 09:13:
I’m still with my thought that EMI wanted more previously released tracks to tempt buyers, in their usual misguided way. There may be a Bad Hair Day style project for Roxette if Per wants to give the songs to us. Now that would be great. :-)))
chrisjankunas said on August 30, 2006 10:04:
The way I understood it at the time, Bad hair Day was out on hold so that Per could put the good Rox stuff in the box. “I don’t want to bore people” I think I remember him saying.
Why Love Spins. WHY??????????
