Merry Christmas from Roxette!
Written by tevensso on December 17, 2006 to Exclusive, Marie Fredriksson and Roxette. Source: Roxette.
STOCKHOLM/HALMSTAD - Per and Marie have been kind enough to share a Christmas greeting with us once again:
Awright!
2006 turned out to be a good year! Not only for the roses but also for this little band from the outskirts of Europe.
We managed to deliver a good-looking RoxBox as well as 2 new songs (btw, you have to check out the new remixes of Reveal…. very cool if you ask us…) and a few TV-shows to go with that.
2007? Well, who knows. Marie is talking about more art exhibitions and more exciting solo stuff, Per isn’t talking at all at the moment (he wants to go xmas shopping, the taxi’s waiting…) but knowing him some raunchy urban x-rated hip-hop music isn’t far away!
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish y’all a white xmas and a sunny new year. And as always, thanks for your heartwarming uncontrollable support and affection.
Luv,
Marie & Per
Marie also sent a very special surprise to all the fans around the world - which you see to the left; click to enlarge.

“Reveal” to be next single

The single will most probably contain at least two remixes of the song, including one which is called "The Attic Remake." The Attic being a new band signed by EMI. "Reveal" is already out as a radio single, slightly remixed and with a different middle-eight.
RoxBox gets nominated for Grammis award
STOCKHOLM - Roxette's 20th anniversary release, "The RoxBox/Roxette 86-06", has been nominated for a Grammis award in the open category. Other nominees in the category include Peter Jöback and Evert Taube's compilations, "En kärlekshistoria," a collection of songs from Swedish indie records (including "At School" by Brainpool) and "Bra dagar," a homage to folk singer Totta Näslund who died last year.
According to the Grammis rules, albums containing previously released material can only be nominated in the open category. At least 50% of the material on the album must be Swedish to be able to take part.
The winners will be announced on January 30, 2007 at Hovet in Stockholm. The gala will be broadcast "live" on TV4.

Roxette keeps fighting the IRS
Written by tevensso on November 22, 2006 to Music Business and Roxette. Source: Dinapengar.se.
STOCKHOLM - According to Dinapengar.se Roxette has, as expected, appealed the tax evasion case since the German tour 1995 once more. This time to Regeringsrätten, the highest administrative court in Sweden. Mats Nilemar, Roxette's financial advisor says in the documents filed that this case should be tried once more as the previous court's ruling is based on "apparently serious disregard or a serious mistake."
Europe’s VH1 album chart has Roxette at #4
Written by Rox_Nox2003 on November 10, 2006 to Roxette and Sales & Charts.
LISBON - This week's VH1 Top 10 album chart shows Roxette's "Hits" as the highest new entry at #4. VH1 uses sales and airplay charts from throughout the European territories they serve, and puts Roxette just behind Justin Timberlake, the Scissor Sisters and Evanescence.
As if to confirm the lack of promotion for the single "One Wish," VH1 is playing "Listen To Your Heart" on the Album Chart show, which seems to indicate "One Wish" is being ignored by VH1 (part of the MTV networks). However, a footnote ticker was shown during the video broadcast refering to the new album being the first Roxette release since Marie's recovery from her brain tumor. Furthermore, it was mentioned that this release contains two new tracks, whose titles were given.

Written by tevensso on November 9, 2006 to Roxette.
STOCKHOLM - There’s going to be a special “Roxette Weekend” on Swedish radio station Rix FM this weekend. All of Roxette’s biggest hits will be aired, and Per will even announce the songs with personal anecdotes.
A photo of Per and Marie on the station’s website promoting the event has them saying “This weekend, we take over!”
Rix FM streams their broadcast over the internet, so readers of this newspaper will be able to “tune in.”
Per will be doing something very similar to this on Sirius satellite/internet radio in late December, to help promote the U.S. release.

The first Roxette demo hits the air
Written by tevensso on October 30, 2006 to Roxette.
SÖDERHAMN - As you may and may not know, roxette.se and sister sites have been down since Saturday. TDR has spoken with the site administrator David J. Elfström Lilja who rips his hair in frustration. The sites are down due to technical issues that seem to be hard to solve.
David lets TDR know that the demo, “One Wish,” promised to be online early this morning is now up on Per Gessle’s myspace account. This is temporary, but Roxette wants to show the fans that they won’t go back on the promise. The demo is from May 20.
