How important is this chart? What kind of impact does it have in the US‘?

They is a market for roxette still, with a little correct promotion or any at all will help.

again it has no impact in the american chart success and i think we can all agree they’ve basically given up on the states. with emi in financial trouble i really think in the near future roxette will release in only select territories and they won’t include the usa

Not to be a killjoy, but LOGO only recently became available on select digital cable services throughout the country. If you asked 100 people on the street what LOGO is I promise you 99 to 100 wouldn’t have any idea. Their video chart couldn’t possibly be less relevant. As a matter of fact, being on the LOGO chart could actually hurt an artist by becoming narrowcasted as a ’gay’ band. But if you’re desperately looking for SOMETHING to cheer about in the USA I suppose this could be the tiniest of morsels.

I wonder what kind of meetings per had with capitol usa during his “promotion” trip.
- Ok Per we will release it but we will do zero promotion!
- Ok, thats ok. My target for this record is #3460 in the charts.

PEOPLE: IT HAS OVER 20 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS...and if the song has picked up already...PLEASE A RE-MIX VERSION...is needed...CLUB PROMOTION in the GAY scene with the top DJ’s would be the wise thing to do...and to re-mix the song with Tracy Young for example costs $8,000.00 (If the record label won’t do it...hey I’d do it if I were the artist) and send copies to the right people in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Hey I burned promotional CD’s myself with all the re-mixes of Roxette since HAND and gave it to the top DJ’s mainly (GAY CIRCUIT)...and yes it has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE.
I seriously can’t believe why people talk out of their ass...2 years ago...DHT’s Listen To Your Heart (Club mix) picked up exactly in this scene, and SURPRISE SURPRISE...it was a HIT that made it to the Billboard TOP 10.

This looks like the biggest chance since Wish I Could Fly back in 2000. I think it’ s time for club remixes finaly.

I don’t think that “being on the LOGO chart could actually hurt an artist by becoming narrowcasted as a ’gay’ band”, but that’s not the question! and if it happens? What’s the problem? Your words have a lot of PREJUDICE... take it easy...
tevensso (moderator) said on March 11, 2007 21:29:
I would say that’s not prejudiced, but do not continue this line of discussion here please.

Any exposure, on any music chart, is GREAT exposure. Viacom is a HUGE company in North America, and their presence is also felt internationally to some degree.
Viacom is comprised of MTV Networks, BET Networks, Paramount’s movie studio, and Paramount Pictures’ home entertainment operations, as well as a large percentage of CBS operations, which also works closely with CNN.
Music has no borders or boundaries. It doesn’t matter if it’s airplay on a Top 40 Radio station or a Gay Network. Fan’s should be saying “congratulations” to Per and Marie for any success! And hat’s off to their management team as well! Kudo’s to those fans who have done that already! I’m looking forward to see them here hopefully promo’ing soon!
In the words of Per, “the sun is shining”!

I’d say hats off to all those that have done the IMPOSSIBLE to make “certain” things happen that not even the record label or management have been able to do...by now its an accomplishment to keep promoting ROXETTE and proves they still have a market and recognition to achieve to what they have done in their carreer to this point...

OK Dimberg - anyone with any promtional experience knows that the next step is to issue a media alert (preferably to the other gay-freindly media) in the US and UK (as well as other territories that One Wish could do well in, and announce that it is the favourite ’gay’ tune at the moment... c’mon. If Attitude, Gay Times, Boyz, ReFresh in the Uk get hold of it as being the nextbig gay thing in the US..then it is sure to have some impact.
Oh, wait a minute - this is the internet. She won’t read this. Right, I’m off to wash my hair.
Ciao.
