“One Wish” holds position in the US
Written by matthewcho on March 4, 2007 to Roxette and Sales & Charts.
CLEVELAND - Roxette's "One Wish" video has been playing quite frequently on the U.S.'s only gay network, named Logo. It has been in the channel's Top 10 (called the "Click List") for several weeks now. It is one of 50 videos in rotation at the channel.
This week it is at #2!
1. Josh Zuckerman - Out From Under
2. Roxette - One Wish
3. Mona Chatterjee - Move With Me
4. Brian Kent - I'm Not Crazy
5. Deadlee - Good Soldier II
6. Gwen Stefani - The Great Escape
7. The Cliks - Oh Yeah
8. Mika - Grace Kelly
9. Cascada - Miracle
10. Lily Allen - Smile
Vote for Roxette. It is, however, unclear to The Daily Roxette if this station has any impact outside the gay community in the US, or even if their site is up to date.
In Sweden, Roxette's latest single, "Reveal" entered the Swedish top 60 at #59 this week and the Swiss chart at #18!

Is Roxette really #2? I don´t think so...
That page hasn´t changed in the last 3 weeks. No new entries or position changes AFAIK.
Maybe TDR could ask the TV station???

no it doesn’t have much impact in mainstream music in the states, butr then again being a gay man my usical taste has never been mainstream thank god. I think people underestimate how much credibility roxette has in the gay community, that and alot of younger gays confuse marie with annie lennox LOL

The page has changed...and they hold the position...Janet no longer there...neither is Madonna with Jump...and who cares if it does have any impact outside the gay community or NOT...FACT OF THE MATTER IS THE VIDEO IS PLAYING IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT ALREADY...ADDED THAT MOST ALL MTV’s HAVE REFUSED TO PLAY IT...IT WILL HAVE IMPACT IF MANAGEMENT GETS THEIR GEAR ROLLIN...!!! AND FINDS OTHER WAYS OF PROMOTING THE SONG AS RE-MIXES

Which Swiss chart is that? Cos it isn’t listed @swisscharts.com. Or is the site yet to be updated?

Will ya stop shouting?? And yes, I would say that it is important to break outside the ever-so-huge gay-sphere in the US.
It’s this Swiss chart: http://www.cede.ch/de/music-cd/frames/middle_top.cfm?topobj=charts&chtyp.... Up from #62.

Then you should tell Gessle—–>to tell Dimberg to do her job...THEN MAYBE THEY COULD BREAK ELSEWHERE WHERE THEY STILL HAVE A CHANCE. And for your information Thomas...you ever heard of the Madonna & Cher Gay Phenomenon? It is the GAY CIRCUIT CLUB SCENE that picked up DHT’s cover of Listen To Your Heart...and then it was a major HIT...difference with that song more than 5 mixes of the song were available...and that was the key to the success...any questions?

Hey, I think you need to calm down. We all want Roxette to succeed in the US charts again. I just made a comment about something that caught my attetion (website not updated and the supposedly importance of that Logo channel). You don´t need to be that rude, you know?
animalkingdom said on March 6, 2007 10:21:
@ tevensso
But I don’t think that’s the official Swiss chart...Cos I’ve seen the official positions always referring to www.swisscharts.com’s chart. And Reveal hasn’t charted at #62 there either.
tevensso (moderator) said on March 6, 2007 11:58:
No you’re probably right. I don’t know what chart it is, it was a reader that submitted it. Let’s hope it’s fairly important. :)

Its not a matter of being rude...its about seeing all the negative comments and everyone complaining, then sticking to facts...about what is happening in realistic terms...ROXETTE would not be playing on LOGO if a “certain” request was not made directly to the Director of Music Programing of MTV USA. They refused to play the video elsewhere, similar to Europe, but gave it a chance...and results are good...wasn’t CAPITOL or DIMBERG who made it happen though...and that is a fact.

the Swiss chart is not the official one. It’s just a CD-/DVD-online-shop. Quite a big one though...
DownloadJunkie said on March 6, 2007 22:02:
Has it ever been considered to forget MTV as the whole focus of this station has changed through the years. What about VH1? Roxette’s music is a much better “fit” for that station.
animalkingdom said on March 8, 2007 12:48:
Now Reveal is off the Swedish chart...Must be the biggest flop ever (considering the remixer’s fee).

“only gay network” – that’s quite some market for US. And quite an interesting achievement for Roxette.
