I think you are right, at least I was being completely honest with myself and with him.. a friend of mine told me, just to “play along” until I find something else, she said, I should just enjoy and use this opportunity, I just can’t agree with anything like that though, I think sometimes straight people think, all gays want is sex and a fun time, but I want so much more in another guy, I want true friendship, I want each other to be completely into each other and crazy for one another. I want Mr. Right! ;-) lol Well, who doesn’t want that?? :-)
StillFar said on August 8, 2003 14:13:
I think there’s nothing wrong with sex and fun...as long as both feel that way...

my boyfriend is 39, he was married and got 3 childrens, now everything is difficoult, i think, (just an opinion) if you are bisex, is better dont get married with a woman, cos gays understand if you are bisex, but not womans...
derek said on August 27, 2003 22:50:
iv been married twice but allways kept it to myself that i was bisex and it had nothing to do with the break ups but now i live on my own the feelings are getting stronger.and a lot of women are bisex so they understand more than you think nox

joyrider8103 said on August 29, 2003 16:34:
i know two, maybe three bi persons, and listening to what they had to say i conclude their situation is worse than gays’. they seem to be torn. don’t know which way to go, or afraid to do that final step, i can only imagine what does it mean to not be sure of who i want to love - men or women. it’s therefore much easier for us - gays.
thank you for listening (or reading).

Roxlander said on September 10, 2003 19:10:
@derek, hi man! I think deep inside all we are bisexual, it’s just that most people finally are more atracted to one sex. In my experience with any kind of man and woman I’ve noted that in different situations if they’re straight they can have homosexuals feelings. Sex is a very complicated part of human beings, I think all we should just acept that we can be atracted to any person, no matter if is a male or a female. That would make many people’s lives easier.
BTW, it doesn’t matter if your gay, bi, or straight, here you’ve got a friend ;-)
ally77 said on September 10, 2003 20:08:
Okay, welcome to the world.... I would like to tell my friends on here that I am Bi-sexual and I don’t have a problem with it in myself... just perhaps a slight problem in telling others but at 26 it is time to face up to reality and stop living a lie.
So there goes!!
derek said on September 10, 2003 23:24:
Hey Roxlander mate how are you doing you are so right if only people could accept themselves for what they are and the rest of the people could accept that then life would be so much easier dont you think

ChrisWilliams said on September 11, 2003 18:09:
Here’s a dumb question:
I’m gay, but I don’t Per particularly attractive... Do any of the gay/bi men find him attractive, and do any gay/bi women here find Marie sexually attractive?
I know I sound like a moron (probably because I am one), but I’m wondering what you think :-)
Roxlander said on September 11, 2003 19:37:
@Chris, in “The Look” days I was crazy about Per, I found him really atractive, I just loved him from the first time I saw him. In 1995, when I met him I couldn’t believe, he was so handsome, and tall ;-) But with time that passion became more like a brotherly love, I still admire him the same, and I love him, but I don’t find him that atractive anymore.
@everybody. Just wanna tell you something that happened today to me. I have two new fellow workers (I’m not sure about this word), I mean two people who work with me. Today one of them was saying that he can’t stand gay people, that they make him sick. I just turned to him and said: “You must be careful of what you say, because you never really know who’s by your side”. And he said: “Why! Are you gay or what?!” And full of pride I said: “YES I AM”. If you could look his face! The man didn’t know what to do or what to say, he felt so shamed, and I felt just great!
I’m sick of stupid people saying things against gays, when they don’t have a clue of what being gay means. I don’t like people at work to know I’m gay, not because I fell shamed, but I don’t want any kind of problem and you know most people are still ignorant about it. But in this case I didn’t care, and I’m proud of myself. People must learn about gays somehow, and we must give ourselves our place.
ally77 said on September 11, 2003 20:18:
@ Chris from a bi female point of view.... don’t know if you want this or not... but I grew up totally obessed with Per... I mean we are talking a guy with lots of talent and good looks, what girl could refuse... he get’s sexier as he gets older and I would jump into bed with him tomorrow given half the chance.... (sorry I know he’s married, well a girl can dream - Denstandigaresen.... back me up on this??!!!).
But growing up I was also totally was head over heels in love with Marie, she was not the first female I knew I loved... but I guess I admired her for her music as well as her looks and again she get’s better as she get’s older!! :)
@ Roxlander.... well done.... proud of you!!

Roxlander said on September 12, 2003 13:25:
Thanks ally and derek.
Later yesterday we talk a little more about it, this guy and other two (including a girl), and they started to make some questions about being gay. I tried to give them good questions, and make them see that gays are as good as anybody else.

Hi!
I have a friend who i knew he was gay, because he always talked about his male firends and because he has a gay pride ring, but i never told him anything, i liked him a lot alredy, but i like him more know because last week he told me he is gay, and i think that now we became much closer, because i accept him the way he is.
I’m straigth female, but i have no problem with gay people, in fact he invited me to the gay pride parade next year and i’m planning to go :)

hey sunshine way to go
roxlander my friend how are you getting on with that dude who dont like gays ?and i know that i have a friend thanx
vaxjoe said on September 13, 2003 19:21:
Being gay is just a sexual orientation it shouldnt rule your life once you organise pride parades you accept that u re part of a ghetto group.
purplemedusa said on September 13, 2003 19:53:
I don’t understand, Vax... ur statement seem ambiguous.
vaxjoe said on September 13, 2003 19:58:
Im just saying that a homosexual is just the opposite of a heterosexual and thats all. I dont think we should make it clear to everyone our sexual orientation or constantly try to excuse why we are who we are. Getting in that trip u automatically accept that u arent normal.
purplemedusa said on September 13, 2003 20:06:
Well said... only you have to consider that being gay (or straight) is a vital part of your identity... this should not be considered as abnormal or “othered”
vaxjoe said on September 13, 2003 20:10:
IT IS a part but JUST a part not my whole identity. It doesnt rule my whole self.
derek said on September 13, 2003 21:56:
Vax.why should we want to make it clear to everyone over our sexuel orientation?im happy with who i am and if other people cannot accept that then tough shit .its like you said we are who we are then lets be proud of that i dont have to prove anything to anyone about what i like in sex and with whom its only small minded people who cannot accept that some of us are different in our approach to life and whats important to us
vaxjoe said on September 13, 2003 23:27:
derek:
thats what i said, we SHOULDN’T say “hi u know im gay btw”
Basically we agree, u wrote all the things i believe in
derek said on September 14, 2003 12:19:
thanks vax and to believe in ourselves is the most important lesson we can learn
vaxjoe said on September 15, 2003 13:17:
derek i think the 1st principle to help you be happy is love the person you are.
purplemedusa said on September 16, 2003 08:45:
I agree once again. U should be the cornerstone of your existance. (Had to find that out the hard way!)
BTW... how ironic is the add 4 “www.kiddomusic.com”? Chances of anyone here having biological offspring are minimal.
ally77 said on September 16, 2003 09:35:
Derek.... thanx for the mail..... I got to find a cafe in Wales so I read it, made sense what you said.... I shall email you back when I get home!!
Roxlander said on September 18, 2003 20:38:
derek, my friend, how do you do!
I’m doing as vaxjoe says, I’ve been myself just like always, not trying to show them anything because of being gay. And they seen to be learning to respect. I’m acting natural, and they are too. The difference is that now I don’t have to follow their comments about girls, and I can talk about men too. But I do it when necesary, not trying to show them “gay pride” or something. I’m just someone with a different sexual choise and they must learn to deal with it :-)
derek said on September 19, 2003 19:52:
hey roxlander how are you.the only thing that you can do friend is be yourself .love yourself for who you are and if some people cannot understand why you are gay then thats there problem dont let them get you down if ever you wish to talk in private you know my email ok
vaxjoe said on September 19, 2003 21:58:
I think str8 ppl (at least the young ones) learn to respect us slowly though but they do! Once they realise that we are just like anybody else its fine with them.
Now there are gay ppl that in a way are TOO MUCH -even for me- and like to make fun of themselves..they cannot ask for respect cause they dont respect their own self..thats their problem and not being gay.
derek said on September 23, 2003 08:41:
yep thats true it would be nice to get some feedback from the girls
Roxlander said on October 6, 2003 22:43:
Something funny happened to me this weekend. I met one of my Roxfan friends, and we were talking about Roxette and everything when something came out: he told me he’s gay. I told him I’m too, and then we wanted to know if another of our friends is too, so we ask him and he’s too. We are good friends, and we’ve known each others for years, but we never talked about that. The three of us, with another Roxfriend who now lives in Canada, formed the Costa Rican RoxFanclub, and now, years later, we realize that we share more than our Roxpassion. I like it this to happen because now we can be closer friends, and actually I don’t have a truly gay friend. Now I do :-)
DaminehGessle said on October 7, 2003 09:04:
Roxlande nice.
Vaxjoe yeah I totally agree with you. I respect gay people very much. But as much as two straight people acting very straight (dunno how to describe that), acting too gay disgusts me at times.

carbon_boy said on October 8, 2003 06:26:
Hey Mizz Medusa! :o) (’n Soentjie vir jou.... mwah!)
How can a person be too gay or str8? I think what they meant was that some gay guys act too much like women. Jy weet mos, ’n regte suster! LOL! Sometimes I think it’s just an act. This one guy I know is oh so butch thruout the day (he’s really hot as well - built like a brick shithouse), but wait until Friday and Sat’day nite! Then the sister act comes out at the club. It’s so wrong. Why do you have to ACT all girly?
It’s so pointless.... I dont know.
:o)
DaminehGessle said on October 8, 2003 18:54:

vaxjoe said on October 8, 2003 22:49:
PM: I think DG means by too gay=too femenine and by too str8=too butch..
carbon_boy said on October 9, 2003 13:39:
DG: I don’t disagree all the time. I have a point of view and I’m allowed to raise it - to make my voice heard. Ive never been one to follow the flock, know what I mean? When I disagree on something it’s cos I know something about the subject and what was said. And therefore I have an opinion about it. I think on this forum the only thing i actually buttet heads with was the fact that so many fans HATE Karl-Magnus’s sleeve design, etc and Jonas’s videos. I love both! And I have my reasons... but hey, let’s not get into that now. This is ofcourse the rainbow coloured thread and I dont want it to be blackened by the same old same old.
Have a great day guys and gals!

purplemedusa said on October 9, 2003 13:50:
Hey All,
I’m by no means gender illiterate… my question was purely anthropological. I want to know what you think is this (socially constructed?) concept of being too gay or too straight? Where does one draw the line of extreme gendered behavior? What is accepted behavior in terms of ones own gender?
*I’m eagerly awaiting your responses*
At ’Ro: hey just send u a mail @ hotmail account (always forget ur work addy)... PS. I forgot to tell u Belinda just got out of the hospital... shame the girls in a lot of pain and need some upliftment. Send her a TXT or something!!

can I ask you guys a question? maybe a silly one.. but can’t help...
is that true that most of gay people are atheist?
I’m just curious. Hope I won’t offend anyone by asking this...
coyboyusa said on November 27, 2003 12:23:

god does not discriminate only stupid people do
Marc said on November 28, 2003 01:26:
hey Majdy, it’s strange, but I noticed it too. Many gay people that I met are atheists. Im not. Even though I believe in God in my own way. I don’t go to church often.
Majdy said on November 28, 2003 06:44:
I agree. God is not discriminate.
I’m christian and believe in god, but with my own way..
I think that any preacher who would take the risk of marrying a gay couple should be commended
Anarem said on November 28, 2003 13:01:
Hi Majdy,
I wouldn’t say that most gay people are athiest, though honestly, if they were, I wouldn’t blame them! Organized religion has done so much to persecute gays, telling us we would go to hell, that we are evil... no wonder gays aren’t turning up in droves to church.
But when you say athiest, it means that one doesn’t believe in God or any other God. Most of my gay friends (including myself) do believe in God, but we just don’t go to church– and if we do, it’s a gay-friendly church.
Majdy said on December 2, 2003 07:14:
I know. I think I can understand how are you feeling. well, actually church or other religion has discriminate to many other people, not only gay, with their “small” perception..
but I’m glad that now some church are becoming more friendly and open minded...
I am not a gay, but I’d love to go to a church where people there accept the gay people, where preacher won;t say stupid things like gay will go to hell etc...
Echoes_of_a_Doubt said on December 4, 2003 09:58:
I had a very religious upbringing, when I came out, I had to leave my church, as I don’t want to live a lie any longer, I had to make the choice, live an honest open life, and do the things which I feel are right for me, or live a life that tells me what to do and tells me who I can NOT be. So I decided to come out, and I have never been happier. I have ost lots of friends and loved ones, because I came out, but this is what I had to do. But I am still very religious, I still pray almost every day... I don;t go to any church though...

So, then a week later he broke up with me... I was totally heartbroken... on christmas eve I put a small gift I got for him weeks ago through his door, when he got home from work he phoned me immediately, saying he needed to meet up with me... so we got back together! ;-) But I know exactly what it feels like, when your bfriend brakes up with you.. it is sooo painful!!!

Alanis Ordained Minister, Makes Appearance at GLAAD Awards
(By http://www.alanis-morissette.com )
Alanis Morissette has another title to add to her credits. She has recently become an ordained minister. In opposition to President George W. Bush’s stance on gay marriages, the singer took an online course to get the license. At the 15th Annual GLAAD awards, Alanis told the press that he now hopes to marry some of her gay couple friends.
Alanis also performed at the awards show, including the song ’Ironic’ where she added a little twist, instead of the usual lyrics she sang: “It’s meeting the man of my dreams, and then meeting his beautiful husband.”

In Costa Rica’s concert last year Alanis changed that part too in Ironic, and people went crazy applauding. In a “macho” country that means so much.

@Majdy Saw this movie a long time ago, but it was great!
I just bought the seasons of the US version of Queer as Folk, never saw it, I only knew the british one, but i gotta say i really like it a lot!
purplemedusa said on May 1, 2004 07:48:
Clerk... u must be the first person who actually liked the US version!
clerk said on May 3, 2004 06:45:
Well, the story line is the same so far, so the only difference are the actors and they are better looking than the british actors, so the series are basicly the same...
And besides I thought the series was very succesfull in the states.
So tell what is it that you don’t like about the series, or is it just that you prefer the original one...
coyboyusa said on May 4, 2004 12:40:
the queer as folk sereis is very successful here in the usa season 4 starts soon.
StillFar said on May 4, 2004 12:47:
it’s such a cheap copy of the british one and after copying almost every sentence of the two first seasons, there was nothing left to copy and it sucked even more..btw, I heard season four started already
coyboyusa said on May 5, 2004 01:52:
yeah i did waiting for it on dvd like i did the others. who cares if it copies the british version it does it better and with mor eye candy :)
clerk said on May 5, 2004 06:36:
I’m still watching the first series, but I can’t imagine the second series to be the same as the british second season, since this season was a very short one, only like 2,5 hours...
And gotta say it again, the actors are better looking!:)
StillFar said on May 5, 2004 14:27:

I would have sent it to you, but i dont have my copy anymore...i lent it to a friend and never got it back. I might buy it again myself actually as its a good few years since ive read it and my memory is crap, so i cant actually remember much of the story, apart from the fact that i loved it

I dunno whats happening with Ed’s US job. He’s very quiet about it. I think he doesn’t want to get too excited, just in case it’s not his cuppa tea. I’m very 50/50 about the whole thing. I have my reasons for wanting to move and I have my reasons for staying. We’ll see. I think when he goes to check it out we’ll be able to make a concrete decision on the whole thing. But for now, we’re staying in sunny SA. :o)

Dadies little princes is a band with the lead singer ’Veda’! Veda is the or one of the three best known Drag’s in Ireland! Everybody knows him on the scene and he’s also known ’off the scene’. anyways, as The scissor sisters and Veda are quite good friends, they asked him and his band to be their supporting act!!! yay! how cool is that! :-)

People agree on some issues, and disagree about others.
A really good sign that someone is wrong and/or quite insecure about his beliefs is when his reflexive response to disagreement is to call the challenger “stupid and uneducated.” Would you agree?
moin said on January 13, 2005 11:22:
As I was visiting with my family over the new year something rather upsetting happened to me. Everybody that knows me also knows I am gay. But my family has got such a big problem with it. (They are Mormons, not saying all Mormons cant accept homosexuality, but with most of my family - their belief is the deciding factor in this issue.) Anyways, my mother and sister, to this day, can not talk about it that I am gay, because they just feel it is sooo wrong. They took it very bad when I came out to them a few years ago.
Anyways, as I stayed with them, one night this film with Jennifer Aniston was shown on TV. (Sorry forgot the English title of the Film) In that Film, she falls in Love with a gay guy. My mother and sister really enjoyed the film. But after only 45 minutes I had to leave the room. I just couldn’t stand it any longer that my mother and sister love such films and say how they really like such films but they can not even talk to their own brother and son about his sexuality and accept him for who he is. Sometimes the world really frustrates me!!!
antz said on January 17, 2005 07:26:

eBay said on May 16, 2005 15:04:
Your statement:

Am just wondering when the ’Beyoncé you make me sick thread’ will be stopped. Threads like this may discus gay topics, based on different things though..
And how come then, you are not gettnig rid of all the other discussion points, that come up more than once in the Off-Topic Section? ;-)

LOL... no i just want the name... it’s been bugging me for a while now!

StillFar said on June 16, 2005 13:53:
I assume, you are talking about ABSINTHE.
I wanted to taste it too after watching Moulin Rouge. Last year I traveled to Germany and went to this coffee place at the airport upon arrival. They had it on the menu so I ordered a small glass. I have to add that I didn’t sleep 48 hours prior to drinking it, nor did I eat much during those two days, but DAMN did it hit me! I couldn’t communicate anymore and my friend who I hadn’t seen in over 4 years would just sit in front of me listening to me going on and on about how difficult pronunciation is. Didn’t last long though!
Forgot to mention that it’s illegal in many countries, while some other countries offer a mild form of it and you can get the real deal in the Czech Republic ;) Check the net for more info and let me know once you tried it, lol

@ Miss Medusa: One of my fave drinks. Tastes like shit if you dont do it properly (dip a spoon - you can buy the proper spoon, like i have - in the absinthe, then coat it with sugar before setting it alight. Drip the sugar into the absinthe). Most of the Absinthe we get here is just high in alcohol content, and doesn’t contain the ingredient, Wormwood, that actually makes you see the green Kylie fairy. It still has a nasty kick. But, get yourself a bottle of Doubs Absinthe. www.doubsabsinthe.com A great start to an evening! And something different to do before you go out.
The active chemical in wormwood, thujone, which some have likened to THC (the active ingredient of cannabis). The effects are different - thujone has stimulative characteristics, while THC is more of a soporific. In high doses it can cause delirium, convulsions, seizures, paralysis, brain damage, renal failure and death.
A fab night out, by my standards.

I met my wife in a bar in Ealing (West London) called West Five. I used to club there every Friday night. I also used to work in a gay bar called Queens in Hounslow (West London) but that has now shut down....I live pretty near Chicwick which is posh West London and there is a great pub bar there called the Bird Cage...always meet my straight friends there as its very friendly with cabaret acts and outdoor space and great food...Obviously in central london the scene is huge (especially around Soho where you the have the famous Candy Bar for girls only). All the big clubs are there too - i used to go to HEAVEN every Wednesday night - that was a blast! I could go on and on....

Well I am not a new comer as I have been out for a few years and also been popping in here every so often. But I do remember you Vaxjoe!!!!!! (way back in 2002/3). How are you doing boy?
Hmm so whats happened since then.. um ... I went back to university and have a lovely boyfriend who also likes Roxette (just as well!). He said he would like to go to Sweden to see one of their concerts!!!! (assuming they will perform again). We live in New Zealand, so that would be quite a distance to travel just for a concert but would be totally worth it!!

My baby decided to show face on TDR again!! (God it sucks not being with you my love!! Oh and for those who don’t know Vax is my otherhalf and will be here sooooooooon!!)

I just been reading some of the OLD threads on here- the bit about fancying per/marie made me think.... i was obsessed with roxette from the age of 7. fancied both of them if im honest, but per more so esp. from the ages of 11-15 (u know when ur supposed to be into guys). got back to reality when i was 16 and realised i was gay.
they are both attractive but to be honest i do not fancy either of them really i just admire them so much wouldnt want to sleep with either of them.
natasha1 said on May 31, 2006 11:03:
Completely with you on that one Claire!
I didnt fancy Per cos I always knew I was gay but I was sooo into him. I loved what he wore with his tight trousers and long jackets with a bandana around his nexk - and I LOVED his hair - I wanted to be him - but I never fancied Marie though either - not in general anyway.
Having said that she is SOOO fine in the Listen To Your Heart, Dangerous and Silver Blue video! wow what I WOULDNT do to her if I got hold of her then....sexy woman!!!
I read an article where she said she put 7 UP in her hair to make it spike (im sure it wasnt true) but i went out and bought some and poured it over my hair to make it stay “up and out” like hers did back in the day!!!! teenagers hey!
I love Roxette, I would just prefer to sleep with Angelina Jolie !!! lol!
Claire said on May 31, 2006 12:48:
Marie was hot back then but so was Per. i wanted to be Marie but i wasnt allowed to dye my hair lol.

Debs and I were “blessed” by the Metropolitan Church in Hyde Park at London Gay Pride back in the summer of 2003. We have our certificate framed on the wall. It was signed by 2 witnesses (our friends) and we exchanged rings.
Because it was way before the whole civil partnership thing we called it marriage cos it was the closest thing we had to it...
Then it became legal to enter into a civil partnership in December last year....so technically we are not married but we call ourselves married cos we did it 3 years ago and it feels too weird to stop....
we havent had the official ceremony in the UK yet as we are taking a year off to travel and we would like a beach to find the perfect beach and have the wedding there...we will tie the know officially when we come back to the UK ...
natasha1 said on May 31, 2006 13:03:
but ill tell you what gets to me - its still not officially marriage its just a civil partnership - straight people are allowed to get divorced when they want - we have to wait a year - and we are not allowed to ask for a divorce on the grounds of adultery - whats that about - that makes me sick !!!!!
Im not complaining as im so happy that we are being acknowledged - but who the hell do they think they are telling us when we can and when we cant get divorced !! its still not a fair system !!
there is still a long way to fight for equality !!!
Claire said on May 31, 2006 14:05:
mmm i know. this might sound strange but im not happy that straight couples cant have a civil partnership, but i guess they will be allowed eventually. i would like to have a CP but the gf not overkeen, she thinks it would be a joke (thanks v much lol). i think we will have to wait a long time for that tho as our grandparents dont offically know about the relationship (ok well i think mine do but hers defo do not), never mind, we are happy and we live as we like so dont feel we need to be joined officially. we already wear rings anyway.
natasha1 said on May 31, 2006 15:28:
I personally think it should be equal for str8 and gay - whether it be marriage or CP....whatever it is it shouldnt be one set of rules if u r gay and another set of rules if you are str8 - its just b****cks.
then again we could live in the US and have a President who thinks we should rot in hell let alone allow us to get married.
I guss we have to think ourselves lucky that we even live in a country that acknowledges us!

Hey even i would sleep with Angelina Jolie - OMG she looked so AWESOME in Alexander (besides for the fake Greek accent which was VERY troublesome!)
ally77 said on June 1, 2006 07:00:
I fancied Per like crazy in my teens, but I also adored Marie, I know most people would say “They Love Her”, but you have to give it to her for her age, she is still very sexy!
Angelina Jolie.... now that is a wonderful looking woman! :)
natasha1 said on June 1, 2006 07:45:
hey hands off Angelina - she’s mine!!!
I normally have to fight over her with Debs (wife)
I bought my wife tickets to the Premiere of Tomb Raider 2 in London - so she got to meet her and walk up the red carpet.
She was so excited bless her - she was shaking when she met her and she got her official permiere ticket signed too which is framed and takes pride of place in the living room !!!
phwooar she is SOOOO sexxy
