Marie sings title song for Swedish movie
Written by Lars-Erik_Olson on June 26, 2008 to Marie Fredriksson. Source: D & D.
STOCKHOLM - Marie Fredriksson will be singing the title song for the upcoming sequel to last year's "Arn" movie. The song, "Där du andas (Where You Breathe)," is written by Niklas Strömstedt and Anders Glenmark. Marie was asked to record the song and she says "It was an easy choice to say yes, and of course, it is great to participate in such a big Swedish film."
"Arn – Tempelriddaren (Arn – The Knight Templar)" is a 2007 epic film based on Jan Guillou's trilogy about the fictional Swedish Knight Templar Arn Magnusson. The film was released in December 2007 and the sequel, "Arn – Riket vid vägens slut (Arn - The Kingdom at Road's End)," will be released August 22 , 2008. While the films are mostly in Swedish and most of the production was made in Sweden, they are a joint production between Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Germany. With a total budget of around US$30 million, it's the most expensive production in Scandinavian film history.
This song, as well as several others inspired by Arn, will be released on the album "Alla himlens änglar (All the Angels of Heaven)" on August 27. Anders Glenmark is the producer. The song will be released on July 23.
Other singers include Sonja Aldén, Uno Svenningsson, Helena Paparizou, Tommy Körberg and Fred Johansson. Composers include Anders Glenmark, Niklas Strömstedt, Mauro Scocco, Uno Svenningsson, Tomas Andersson Wij, Patrik Isaksson, Bobby Ljunggren and Eva Dahlgren.

Awesome awesome awesome. Strömstedt can be a fantastic songwriter... “På Väg” is one of the best songs of all time, IMHO. I can’t wait to hear this... wouldn’t it be amazing if Marie had the smash hit of the summer? Could happen!

I wonder if the song will be an upbeat or slow number? I think there’s more chance of it being a summer smash if it’s an upbeat number!

would that be so unreal? Marie will sing for Stjärnklart and now she comes up with this new song, maybe a new Roxette album (or something) is closer...

Hope it’s release as a single.
My guess it’s a ballad.
edit: reading the article again says the song will be released july 23th so probably it’s going to be a single maybe radio and download.

Anders Glenmark is an excellent producer - He produced (and wrote 95% of) ABBA-Frida’s last album in 1996, on which Marie duets with Frida (“Alla mina bästa år”). I first got to know him because he was in a band called Gemini (a duo, with his sister Karin) during the 1980s.
Anders has a real talent for getting the best out of a vocalist... so I hope he’s done exactly that with Marie. Anders is also a very talented vocalist with an incredible range... I have a lot of respect for him!

Cool! My boyfriend and I went to see the first part when I was there for Christmas - waiting for the sequel ...if this baby arrives in good time ;)

I hope “part 2” is better than part 1, which was a looooong yawn with nice footage. The have somehow managed to strip the movie from the good things from the book.
By the way, I give the odds 1 million to 1 that it’s an uptempo track.

Nice surprise! I wonder when the film will be broadcasted in Germany and what will happen happen with the swedish songs in the german translation... Maybe she could record an english version as well. ;-)

my guess is an uptempo which might remind to Om by Niklas ;) Which for some reason sounds a bit middle-age-celtic-influence to me with a touch of Ung och stolt by Eva (produced by Anders).
At least two songs I think would fit such a film;)

It’s an Enya influenced ballad. The song is owned by Bonnier Amigo and not EMI. There is a possibility there will be a physical single.

Is it a part of “Där du andas”? It was published on Niklas Strömsteds blog on 5th May.

The song is ok, and suitable for the movie. But it’s not her best song, it’s far from the level of “Tro” or “Sparvöga”.
abysmo said on July 3, 2008 20:16:
Yes, the song is nice and it’s always great to hear something new from Marie. She is a great singer, her voice is just amazing. Would be great to hear her in great orchestral ballads, driving - beating and also just simply but so nice songs on one album. Hope we will hear her voice in kind of such a great songs like Wish I Could Fly, Queen Of Rain or Listen To Your Heart someday again.

This is a really great song!
I just love it! I would really like a new Marie album in this style.
Kiwein1 said on July 4, 2008 07:07:
I also like it very much. This is just because the song simply doesn’t sound like Micke. I really like Micke and I loved his album. But Marie’s voice sounds much better when the song and sound is deep, heavy and simply FULL. Don’t know how to explain it..

Well, remember that the song wasn’t written by her, even though it’s a lovely song, so sweet! I really love it as much as the fact that Marie is back.

It amazes me the same person can ’be back’ so many times in 3 years :-D

I watched the movie and Marie’s song is perfect for it!
Excellent job!!
Song and melody fits the story, the “sound and soul” of that movie!!
ps. The movie is not bad. I definitely will buy soundtrack and even DVD of second part.
tatti said on July 9, 2008 05:28:
The song is wonderful, touching and deep, just like everything Marie ever does!
Could anyone post the lyrics or a link to them here? I understand only part of them, and they are nowhere to be found online yet. Thanks! :)

Is this song already on swedish radio playlists? No entrance in Radio Topp 20 ( http://www.hitmakarna.nu/radiotopp50.html ) neither in i-Tunes.se ( http://www.apple.com/se/itunes/overview/ ) .

So the song should be “released” tomorrow. Does that mean a physical CD single? Or does it mean that airplay will begin tomorrow? If so, does a promo CD exist? Will the song be “commercially released” only as a download via iTunes etc? If so, who will be stupid enough to buy what has been legally available for free through Expressen to download?
I do hope for a CD single (commercial and/or promo) for my collection.

I would translate “Där du andas” to “Where you breathe” since I think “There you breathe” means more like “Där andas du”.
