“Hits!” gets a raving review in “Blender” magazine

STOCKHOLM - US magazine Blender gives Roxette's "Hits!" four stars out of five in their March issue meaning it is "great."
Another look at Sweden's #2 mixed-gender pop act.
If ABBA remain the Beatles of European bubblegum, then Roxette, their Swedish compatriots, are the genre's Zombies - hook-crazed followers whose fleeting U.S. chart success merely hints at their knack for embedding conflicting emotions and complex harmonies within ostensibly simple pop. Remembered for Prince-ly knicknack "The Look" and 1990's sweet teardrop "It Must Have Been Love" Roxette still score hits worldwide as their influence lingers (Kelly Clarkson's Swede-crafted "Since U Been Gone" resembles a Roxette ballad sung over a Roxette rocker.) Per Gessle's settings on this 18-year retrospective swing from the Ennio Morricone melodrama of "Crash! Boom! Bang!" to the kiddie-techno sing-along of "Stars" while Marie Fredriksson's secret melancholy substantiates the duo's sheen with a particularly Scandinavian sorrow.

On a side note the "One Wish" video is placed at #2 on the LOGO channel's video chart.
NewNowNext is LOGO's weekly video show spotlighting brand-new videos by artists of interest to the LOGO community, as well as videos by emerging artists, gay and lesbian artists and videos that react with the audience.
NewNowNext premieres a new episode each Sunday at midnight.

That’s very encouraging. The question is - how popular is this magazine? Will Roxette release Reveal Attic as single?

They should, to follow up on this small success.
Take care!

So is d&d management working on further promotion of Roxette in the US at this point given that there’s no news article published on Per’s trip to the US?

Actually all this effort of this having a positive turn is very simple...its been Alex who pushed alot with a friend of his at MTV who is the Director of Music Programing. From there the video picked up. Now the only thing that is missing for the song to become a successful HIT- is a re-mix of the song so “One Wish” can be picked up at popular clubs.

Hopefully D&D Management will take the recommendation of having DJ/ Producer Tracy Young re-mix “One Wish” for the US Market. She is not only the No. female DJ in the world, but has an enormous following by the gay community.

I live in the USA and just bought the Roxette Hits through Wal-Mart on the computer with the dvd. I am not a “video” person, but the songs and the videos were awesome on this one. It is definitely a hit with me!
