Marie’s live comeback
Written by Helene2000 on December 6, 2005 to Marie Fredriksson.
STOCKHOLM - Yesterday Marie performed live at Café Opera’s Aids Gala “Kick Aids Out”. Marie sang Aretha Franklin’s “I never loved a man like I loved you”, a song that she also performed back at Roxette’s MTV unplugged in 1993. “I’ve always loved that song so it felt so right to do it tonight!” Marie says.” Micke adds “I suspect she means me, this is so big for us to be back on stage again!” Yesterday’s mini concert was very special as it was Marie’s first public appearance since she was diagnosed with cancer. Afterwards Marie exclaimed “I feel so great tonight, I’ll have me a pint of beer!”
Per Gessle has said that he’d love to take Roxette for another spin if Marie is up for it. Now the first step has been taken.
“Kick Aids Out” was held for the first time ever yesterday. The goal is to spread aids information in southern Africa.

Yes! SO HAPPY! :)
Can someone please translate this last paragraph:
Marie Fredriksson framförde “I never loved a man (the way I love you)”.
En sånginsats som, intill Roxettes “It must have been love”, måste räknas som hennes finaste.

Thanx in advance!

Hi Roxryder-V2002!
Fell I’m in a good mood today so I’ll do my best to translate. OK, here we go;
“Marie Fredriksson preformed “I never loved a man..”. A classic with Aretha Franklin wich Marie earlier sung with Rox. If you wanna be fussy you can state that it was a very blues-influated version. Maybe not the most exciting sound that Maries voice landed in.
But still - the voice up there on the chair was amazing. Strong and extremely present.
Just as godd as “För dom som älskar” wick she sung alone by the piano at the anti-rasismgala in Globen, five years ago. A song wich, next to Rox’s “It must...”, has to be count as her most beautiful.
Now we want more. That’s how we are.
Out on the road again, Marie! Solo, with Rox or with something completely different.
If only you sing this beautiful again.”
Jag är utmattad...
Don’t make me translate that.
Bye, bye!

I´m receiving very nice news ultimately
It´s so good marie is singing in audience again.
I´m certain that Roxette´s career will come back soon.
I love this song, specially MTV unplugged version.
MF sang this song in a private party in 2002 (before your sickness) too. She really likes this song.
Marie I Love you. Do what you wanna do !!!

@ally: I was wondering exactly the same thing! Nothing gets by this crowd, but this is the second live gig Marie pulled off without fans’ knowledge! Hopefully she’ll indulge our cravings to see her on stage again, soon...

I think that comment is a bit unfair, not EVERY artist consider themselves God, like Bono does.

As it seems all the big news agencies reported about the gig. Here’s what the Austrian news agency APA reported:

Translation: the text doesn’t say anything we don’t know and that hasn’t been written on TDR’s article :)

But still could anyone translate the last sentence? Thank you :)

@AURYTE: the last sentence of the austrian report in English: “The singer didn’t want to comment on this question (about a new rox-cd), but she has recorded one solo-cd since her recovery.”
