Gyllene Tider wants to break attendance records
Written by tevensso on February 4, 2004 to Gyllene Tider.
STOCKHOLM - According to a report in today’s edition of Expressen, Gyllene Tider will perform 10-15 gigs this summer. To maximize attendance, the venues being selected are of the “bigger” model. The tour will start at Örjans Vall in Halmstad with two concerts, and will end about a month later. The tour will include Eyravallen in Örebro, Norrköping’s Sports Park, and Sundsvall’s Park Arena. Sundsvall is once again the northern limit of the tour (even though Per had spoken of wanting to re-conquer the north of Sweden).
Other venues include Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg and the Olympic Stadium or Råsunda Stadium in Stockholm. Per Gessle wants to crush pianist Robert Wells’ attendance record of 43,000 at Ullevi, according to the Swedish tabloid.

So.. then I suppose I can continue to dream about seeing GT here in Sölvesborg once more... It would have been SO great... but the concert place here isn’t big enough if they wanna break records... since I think they still have the record for that place, and it simply cannot fit any more people... oh well... I’ll be going to the other concerts anyway ...

I think they only will play omn big arenas.
as they for example dont come to Varberg which they used to do 96 ... and in cities that they dont played on the återtåget tour

I assume the final tour list can’t be far away!?!?!
Gonna be great!

That is indeed a risk they take but I think they will make it. Perhaps not everything will sell out, but most concerts will I think...

Per only wants to break the specific Ullevi record, at least that’s what the article says. Of course I’m certain he wouldn’t mind breaking other recordds as well.
And even if the tour fails (fat chance) GT will still be around. :)

I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m very disappointed to hear that the concerts are going to be massive. Its ok if you’re willing (or able) to queue for ages to get near the front, but thousands will be so far away, its hardly worth going.

And for those carrying a bit too much extra baggage... i.e: ME!! That can’t run to save their lifes. So would be shoved somewhere at the back, with no doubt, taller people in front, so see nothing... and hear very little! ;)
So... as it goes, probably stay at home. :(

But, Mands, you remember PITP ’99, don’t ya?? ...we ran the whole length there and made it to the front ...even after those hours of waitin’. There were A LOT more peeps in Hyde Park that day, I can tell ya!
Denstandigaresan said on February 8, 2004 20:43:
PITP they let in dribs and drabs... and I was not AS big then! ;)
A lot to spend out if don’t see anything eh. Cost me a LOT just to get to London!
We’ll see. But very, very unlikely.

I’d like to... but no money, mean no go! ;) And I don’t fancy the queuing and standing for hours... Oj.
Will see what happens eh.

Don’t worry, I’m quite sure she would’ve had enough of me buggin’ her come the summer ...I will persist! :P
I will be there, anyway ...WOOHOO! :D

The orgaisers of these concerts think that all the fans are fit, young people. Unfortunately, we’re not! I have difficulities with walking (& standing) due a injured hip, so I can’t queue to get in - infact, I probably won’t even manage to stand up for the concert. I was gutted at the Oslo concert because Manda & I were right at the back (on seats ;)) just because of my problem. But, at least I could go because it was a small venue and I could pre-arrange seating for us. Anyway, I’m sure I’ve bored you all enough!!!!!

IF we make it to Sweden, we won’t even bother to get there hours before and stand there splashed, pushed, etc etc. not worth it
So: either stand a bit far from the stage, either try to find a freak-free concert or watch it home on a DVD ;)

i cant wait for the summer.... its gonna kick ass. but i do agree about the whole huge venue thing.... but if thats what they wanna do then let them do it. theres absolutely nothing we can do about it so i guess its our choice whether we decide to go or not.
i will be ;) no matter where they decide to play.
