Gyllene Tider’s comeback planned for eight years

STOCKHOLM - After having spent Christmas with his family in Halmstad, Per Gessle says it’s now time for him to work on the new Gyllene Tider record that will be released to coincide with this summer’s upcoming 25th Anniversary tour.
“It’s important so that the tour isn’t only a retro thing, even if we will be playing the old hits,” says Per.
Per won’t comment how far along the recording process is. “Then you won’t have anything to write about the next time,” Per said to Expressen’s Per Hägred.
The article claims that the comeback was planned – or at least considered – as early as 1996, during Återtåget. The tour will start in July, local venues are being booked now, and the only worries are that they might not sound good or that it will rain. The new record and the summer tour are presents from Gyllene Tider to their fans.
The only thing that hasn’t gone the way Per would prefer lately is his receding hairline that tells him he’s reached middle age. “I thought this was something that only happened to one’s father,” he says.

The original article seems to include more than this. What about the rest?

The rest of the article is irrelevant. Tour dates won’t happen until April May at earliest.

why wait so long? Sell the dam tickets in january, they will sell more then, because then people wont care about the new material...

Ha, I’d be glad to have full hair until 45! I think Per won’t ever get a blanc head. My tendency with 26 shows something else... ;-(

hej tevensso: do you really think that they don’t release the tour-dates earlier?
because we all have to book a flight - and it is getting more expensive if you wait...

I’m only guessing, but I believe it won’t be as early as everyone wants it to be. I assume they will follow any other pattern. Tour dates usually don’t come out 6 months ahead as far as I know.
But rest assured, as soon as we know, you all will find out.

well, you seem to forget that the tour is more targeted to Swedish people, and these don’t have to book flights ... - Most of those 10.000 in the audience in various Per concerts were OH! Swedes - I guess bout 200 (maybe 300??) were from abroad, and then, these were +- the same all the time;)) -
If you look at the summer tours in sweden, the dates are published about April-May and tickets out in June..

Sure, i only wanted to say: I hope they will release it earlier, because we (>>> the readers of dailyroxette) have to book a flight.
Of course it is not a thing the tourmanager thinks about, but i hope they maybe release it a bit earlier than normal.
Maybe, if i find a cheap flight i will book without knowing some dates. I want to see the GT exhibition in Halmstad...
