Roxette makes VH1’s top 100 love songs of all time

Roxette and love, what a combination, don’t you think! Well VH1 does! The music channel has placed Roxette’s “It Must Have Been Love” from the “Pretty Woman” soundtrack at #95 of the top 100 love songs of all time, in a program conveniently hosted by Jennifer Love Hewitt.
On the first installment of this five part show, they showed the entire Roxette music video and included various interview clips with Per and Marie.
While VH1 did not mention anything about Roxette’s current plans, they did state that the band was not getting any attention in the US before that video was put out and it is truly the one that made Roxette a household name.

Meanwhile, in London, The Daily Express published the VH1 poll to coincide with the celebration of 50 years of British sales charts.
Other songs included “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams at #21, “Your Song” by Sir Elton John at #8 and Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” at #3.
Whitney Houston’s classic ballad “I Will Always Love You” was voted the greatest love song of all time. The track was written by country star Dolly Parton and made it to the #1 spot worldwide in 1992 after the success of Houston’s film “The Bodyguard,” in which she starred opposite Kevin Costner.

Great news and almost about the time that people in USA just heared Roxette’s name (after 10 years or so) because Rox are having another go for USA very soon and this could mean some good album sales and more attention to the TBH in the media (am I too optimisitic?)

Well, it is very good that Roxette is still in this list in a time that they don’t get so much attention as ten years ago.
We, as fans, know of course that Roxette belongs in this list (at no. 1 of course).
