“A Thing About You” not (yet) on the Proms playlist
Written by Pascal on August 26, 2002 to Live.
ANTWERP - The upcoming new single, “A Thing About You,” is not scheduled to be performed during Roxette’s time on stage during the Night of the Proms concerts, at least not at the moment.
According to a spokesman at PSE, the group that organizes and promotes the very popular concert series, the song is not presently on the NOTP playlist.
On the German NOTP messageboard, Dirk Hohmeyer of PSE-Germany writes that he recently heard “A Thing About You” and that it absolutely will be another big hit for Roxette. Jan Vereecke, one of the founders of NOTP, agrees. He told TDR that “the well-known Roxette hit-potential is there again.”
Will the girls on the moon get along?
Fans attending the concerts in Germany in December will get to see Mick Jones and Lou Gramm of Foreigner perform two to three of their songs backed by the symphony orchestra. While “I Want To Know What Love Is” is a sure bet, “Girl On The Moon” will probably be avoided.

Well, if the two of them say that ATAY will be another big hit and that it has the well-known hit-potential again, then I’m very very very...expectant. I wanna hear it on the radio, and of course I wanna have it!!!!!!!!

The only reason that Roxette allowed the ppl from NOTP to heard the song ,must be cos they want to play the song on NOTP shows!!
Maybe they aren’t ready to perform the song live...
you know–they included Church of your heart in the middle of the tour..

I wish this new single to be a quite successful song for Roxette... at least one thing in certain as far as radio airplay is concerned they have a place and a very confortable one there among all (or almost all) radio statios no matter what song ...an old classic hit or a brand new one .... believe me it will be airplayed for a quite a long while....:)

@zeeshan
NOTP means “Night Of The Proms” which is an music event in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
There will be classical parts and pop parts.
Roxette is headliner for this year!

In my opinion it’s a huge mistake not to play ATAY. As it has been said earlier they reach a huge audience which is a very good promotion. And I think it’s important to show the listeners “Hey, we’re still able to make PERfect pop songs... There was a life for us after IMHBL!”

Yep... I also think they should play ATAY at NOTP. I have a feeling that it’ll be a great song, but I also think they wanna wait and see what kind of response the song gets after September 9th when it’s being released to the radios...
That is... I think they will play it if it gets good airplay, and if not... well, then I sippose they won’t play it.
Quite the opposite of what it should be in my opinion, but I believe that’s how they’re thinking. Or not.. I donät really know... but I sure HOPE they’ll play it atleast one time before november 17, which is the last concert I’ll visit...

If Roxette were not to play ATAY it would defeat the whole promotional aspects again. This is their chance to prove to a new and older audience that yes, they still exist and making wonderful music. It will be played. So can we buy this single on Amazon.com.uk in the future? Or even the Love Peas album?

NOTP artists ONLY play HITS. And if ATAY will be a big hit the next months, then there is a chance that it will be on the playlist, according to Dirk Hohmeyer from PSE-Germany.
So it isn’t very likely that ATAY will be on the playlist as it’s very hard for Roxette to deliver a REAL hit once again. You have to admit that the glorious days of Joyride, The Look, IMHBL, SIMC, etc... are gone.
But, of course, you never know... Wonders will never cease.

I think when Dirk Hohmeyer has already heard “A Thing About You” it will be played on the Proms.
Furthermore the instruments in ATAY are an accoustic guitar and a cello which fits very good to the Proms and Per said that they will be maybe play new songs!
So, we can only wait and hope that ATAY will be a great HIT for Roxette!!!!!!!
