Roxette back to Night of the Proms

ANTWERP - Just to confirm The Daily Roxette's previous report that Roxette indeed is back; the following press release was distributed today:

Earlier this year, discussions started about the possibility of Roxette being part of 'Night of the Proms' again. Bearing in mind the frequency of Roxette hits being heard on the radio and the many annual appeals from 'Night of the Proms' fans to try and convince Roxette to be part of the programme, we are all happy to make this announcement!

"We are thrilled to finally be able to attend 'Night of the Proms'. It's gonna be the first time we share a live stage together since 2001 and it certainly feels most exciting to do so in front of the huge 'Night of the Proms' audience. We look forward to performing some of our greatest hits and working together with the big Night of the Proms orchestra, which should fit our music very well." (Marie & Per)

This year’s 'Night of the Proms' can boast of a world first by presenting Roxette’s return on stage, seven years after the first attempt to have the Swedish duo in the show. An icing on the cake for the event celebrating its 25th edition in Antwerp this fall!

Per has been quoted as saying they will play their four U.S. #1 hits ("The Look," "Listen to Your Heart," "It Must Have Been Love," and "Joyride" ) along with "Wish I Could Fly."

The line-up for Charleroi is not yet known... who knows it might be with Roxette, but I wouldn’t buy tickets before the line-up is announced...

There was also “announced” that there will be again some NOTP-shows in Spain early 2010 following the Charleroi-show (like in 2007 and 2008), but no dates yet...

All songs to suit the mass audience. It’s not a wish-list but they are my expectations. WICF is “less known” but would fit the orchestra perfectly. Would there be a new single, it might replace WICF, The Look or Joyride.

So much for my completely uneducated, based-on-nothing-but-speculations and very likely to be incorrect guess...

Thanks wilmpie! great video. Who does per mean by the 4 original members of the band. Clarence, Pelle, Jonas and Anders? I love the bit at the end when per talks about them making a new fantastic album together and marie looks really excited by the prospect....it’s really going to happen!! :)

The reason I asked is maybe I will be able to see them, I just need to know for sure before I bought a ticket for one of those dates and it turns out they’re not performing.

Roxette will perform at all shows in Germany, The Netherlands and Antwerp.

All artists perform every night, according to the program for that country. Very most likely there won’t even be changes in the setlist.

So buying a ticket to any of the shows above guarantees you Roxette.
