Opeth releases Marie song

Swedish heavy metal band Opeth have released their newest album "Watershed," featuring a cover of Marie Fredriksson's song "Den ständiga resan." Marie fans will be relieved to know that the cover version is instantly recognizable as Marie's song. Opeth have chosen to keep the original arrangement - the vocal is subdued, the melody is driven by acoustic guitar, and the song is punctuated with occasional splashes of electric guitar, just as in Marie's original. It wasn't certain that the song would make the album.

Opeth is a great band and the cover is great, The lead voice of Opeth is really good. It´s a cover with 2 guitars, acoustic/electric and clean voice with a nostalgia feeling(like original version). More or less. See you on Tour!

Thanx hehe. Missed it=). The cover version is just fine. Off course, not as good as Maries version ( in my opinion, Den Ständiga Resan is Maries best song).

Not as good as Maries version? It’s basically the same, but sung by a man! Of course, Marie’s version is more special for us, but I still believe both versions are excellent.
I’d say it’s as good as Marie’s version... I like the Opeth version, they kept the original feeling. Can we say the same about Cascada, D.H.T. and such?

@7-twenty-7 : Its not identical to maries version. Maries version has keyboards, dont you know? Thats why I think Maries version is better. I like the keyboards. But I do think that Opeths version is good.

The cover is as fantastisc as the song it is, the Guy’s voice its really cool and melodic , the only sad thing is that comment about B. Spears , how come they don’t respect Britney??...
