Brainpool releases greatest hits album, “lost” single
Written by roxeteer on May 14, 2005 to Misc.
CDON lists a Brainpool greatest hits album due out on June 1. The album, titled “We Aimed To Please,” contains various unrelased songs and single b-sides as well as a bonus DVD. The band’s website has not yet been updated to contain information on the new release.
We reported earlier about Christoffer Lundquist’s record company Junk Musik which releases singles only in digital format over the Internet. They have revealed on their blog that they will release a “lost” Brainpool single next Tuesday, on May 17. The song was recorded while Janne Kask was still the band’s lead singer. He left the band in autumn of 1997.
Brainpool’s main figure is Christoffer Lundquist who has participated in the production of many recent Roxette, Per Gessle and Gyllene Tider releases. Their drum player Jens Jansson has also played with Roxette and Per Gessle.
Update (May 15): Junk Musik informs on their website that their music is now available on iTunes Music Store. The first album available for purchase is Brainpool previous release, the rock opera “Junk.”

Awsome... I love Brainpool, specially the songs with Janne Kask as lead vocal. I want Janne back, by the way.
I´m missing “A Postcard From Juan” and “Mister Johnson Cries”, two great songs.
Nice to see “Invisible To Her”... it´s one of the most sweetest songs ever.
Is the Dvd a live show or videos ?
To the ones that don not know Brainpool... get this album, it´s pure power pop !!
All the best

Bunio: Not really. They used to be when Kask was the lead singer, but not nowadays.

I just remember I also wanted to get GT’s last single and Table in the sun.. so will wait to place the order :)
Curious about the new tracks :))

LaMan: I personally prefer Weeping Willows over Brainpool (but I consider both Soda and Broken Promise Land to be two of the best Swedish albums ever), but you can’t really compare Brainpool and Weeping Willows.

Great!!!!
An impressive track listing. Were all the songs here sung when Janne was in the band??
Cheers, Rich ;-)

They were quite popular in sweden in the mid of 90:s....there were some newspapers who called them “Skåne’s Oasis”, probebly because their sound reminded of Oasis and they “party” like Oasis did....I don’t know if the last thing is true :)
They also performed as a quest before roxette entered the stage on the C!B!B-tour...
Brainpool only released 4 studio-albums so this compilation with demos and other features is really great...I already have the who first albums and my favorite song is “Bandstarter” from the album “painkiller”.
I say, buy it...I think most of the roxette-fans will like this kind of music....It’s make me happy :)

Actually they released 5 albums:
Soda, Painkiller, Stay Free, You Are Here (without Kask), Junk (without Kask) + the My Sweet Lord EP
At least I think the CD-version of Junk ain’t live (never bothered to buy it after I read the reviews and I didn’t really like ’You are here’)

The album version of Junk is not live.
Junk is by far Brainpool’s best album.
If you have links to any reviews that would be cool

Well, actually I didn’t count “Junk” as an normal album... maybe I should?

nice :)
And I’ll finally get My Sweet Lord / She’s So Fine on an album.
