Are you really expecting a new Roxette album.... if so don’t expect it within the next 2 years!

This is a post that I wrote for another thread a couple of days ago, but I felt like paste it here again, because this is actually my point of view regarding P and M international future. Do they have the courage to make something REAL again? Do they have the nerve, the time, the disponibility, the money of that damned EMI? SO, I think the following:
Maybe Per is not so determined anymore to bring Roxette in the international charts. I mean it is not about not wanting to do it, but there are too many things involved here that are not depending upon his concrete willness. It is not only the inspiration...I don’t know exactly why, but Per (and maybe Marie too) tends to treat Roxette in a different manner from his solo (swedish) stuff - one of the reason may be the language and another reason may be the lack of the courage to do a thing in his very own way and show it to the whole world. Producing a Roxette album in the manner in which Mazarin was produced would have sound as being a “scandal”. For some reason, the Roxette material “needs” to be OVER-produced in order to be in world’s charts. Maybe Per is right. Maybe only U2 or REM can “afford” to come up with a very natural sound that send the listener to the bands’ very roots. Maybe Roxette could not afford that. But my conviction is that Per has to try a little bit harder and dare to show to the whole world how good is he (and Marie) when they are not trying to look different than they really are. I still think they are the best in the world. If they’d die tomorrow I’d keep the feeling that the posibility of being the most played band in the world was very logical and didn’t actually become reality only because of some unfortunate conjectures. I think they deserve more. Maybe we’ll see more.

room service was supposedly a step back wasn’t it? And a disappointing one at that. Honestly a meld of cbb and hand minus some of the goofy crap like make my balls go pop would be a really sweet album

I don´t think that you´re the only one with that opinion. It would be cool if the new Rox-album was recoreded in “Mazarin-style”.
