Nobel peace prize

Hey, have you heard about this year Nobel peace prize??

This year “Shirin Ebadi” an Iranian woman who is a lawyer and works to improve the women and children human rights won the prize.

She was the first female lawyer in Iran and she is the first female in Asia and the first Iranian that wins the Nobel prize (in every field).

So I -as an iranian- am very proud of this :D And I hope she does his job untill she gets her best results.

great :D

And they all thought the Pope would get it.. yeah yeah muahahah ;)

Congrats to your country!

yeh, I’ve heard about it:) She has been fighting for more than 20 years against women’s discrimination in Iran. she has been fighting for freedom and democracy and I heard that she was arrested in the past because of that too. I didn’t know her before this price but her fight is very noble!! So I think she deserves it.

oh, btw, have you heard that there was a possibility that Bush and Blair to win this price too? We are talking about the Nobel PEACE Price not the Nobel WAR Price!!!! How can be possible someone think about it......

Are you sure about the Bush and Blair? Terrible!

I think that she deserves this prize.Because she has a great personality and she always helps poor people, especially children and women. She is a very brave person.

As an Iranian,I’m also so proud of this prize.

i hope that the norwegian jury (or whatever) who give the prize away have some BRAIN .. they cannot put in the same bag ppl like Bush and Teresa of Calcuta!!! it would be an insult toward these (the last mentioned of course) :S

oh no! I thought I would be the first Asian woman who win the noble prize :P

Next time i’m sure Santi will win it :p

You forgot me in 20 years!

Thx Judith :D

yes I have hear about Bush too and I was shocked!! By the way now Shirin Ebadi is the winner and she deserves that!

She was in jail for 48 days.

AND I think the next one will be Majdy :D

@ Aaso
sorry, but I think that Shirin Ebadi could be honoured by this prize also the next year and this years’ prize could be given to pope... Cos this prize could get only person who is alive...and he is ill more & more... Nothing against that woman, but Johanes Paulus II is not only person, he is respectable celebrity...

well for me the whole Catholic Religion is a joke. Too much for representing God on the Earth and spreading Jesus words. IF they would believe what they say, the Vatican wouldn’t have so many millions in gold and other luxurious and worth stuff in there.

I remember learning when I was a kid that Jesus was such a nice man giving away everything he had to the poor, and then came the shock, what the hell are then all these cardenals and the pope and all wearing all those golden dresses and crowns and having all that luxe around them??

So for me they don’t deserve a thing until the day they get rid of all their gold and DO what they are asking others to do.

I could go on and on and on because I just can’t believe that they are sitting up there telling ppl what is good and what is not and then they come abusing children, having a “lover” and children they “hide” by paying a great amount each month to mention the LEAST. For me that is LIES, and abusing children well there is no words for that.

Thank god ppl is realising sloooowly and opening their eyes.

Well I have no idea about Pope’s behaviour... but ya know you say he will die next year... so why would he need the prize?? He is damn rich and he can’t use a peny of it. Why does he need to be respected if he is. And why does he need to be famouse ??!!!!! but Shirin Ebadi wasn’t that much rich. i think the first thing about this prize was the money for her. They knew she can use the money in a good way. And she needed fame to show her country and the way taht the governers act to the world!!!! So do you think it would be better to give the prize and the money to Pope??

Aaso you’re right. This Iranian Woman needs this prize much more than Pope. Pope is a Pope and his duty is talking about peace etc. So I was always against the idea of givin’ this Nobel Prize to Pope. And yes, I’m saying it altough I’m catholic, admire Pope and even although that Pope is also Pole like me. Thankfully they have given this prize to the person that needs it very much. Great! This is how it should be!

Bush/Blair/Pope...what’s next, head of the mafia?
