wow so much better than her first... i never knew an artist could improve so much on a new album.... the songs feel so peaceful.. an uplifting... not as dark as the first album

I liked about half of the songs on her first “No Angel” album, because of their melodies (first five tracks I think)
But I have to say that her music is Very Boring. And the fact that half the songs did not have good melodies did not help either.
It would have been nice for her to use more Modern Synth arrangements, or at least have songs with some nice Electric Guitar strings or whatever.
If You like Dido than Check out DJ Encore feat Engelina’s album “Intuition”. It’s just like Dido, but Better :-)))) The song “I See Right Through to You” alone is worth more than the whole Dido album :-))

i have 2 say this album is really diff from her first album... (First of all, i dont like her first album so much)
all the songs on the new album are in the style of uplifting melodys... not dull an depressing as her first... most songs are as good as “here with me” “thank-you” that kind of style...
best album ive got this year...

Went to a store yesterday, they had the Life for rent to listen.. listened to almost all of it (just skipped the last 40 secs or so in each song) zzzzz I almost fell asleep! No offence, I like her voice and some of her songs from her 1st album, there were bout 4 in this album that I really liked (gotta download ’em) but the rest.. sounded pretty the same + boring :S
And then sb said Marie is boring :P

I just bought the album yesterday. I fell in love with “White Flag” so much that I decided to pick up the album. I just love the intro to that song - on the album version, that is. So far, it’s a bit hard for me to get used to, but there are a couple of standout tracks.

Dido’s ’No Angel’ is already the biggest-selling album of the 21st century! Now Dido has broken another record with the release of ’Life For Rent’ which enters the album chart at No.1 this week. First week sales of over 400,000 make it the fastest-selling first week for an album since Oasis ’Be Here Now’ in 1997. It also means that Dido overtakes Madonna with a high-selling opening week. The American pop icon’s ’Music’ sold 152,000 in its first week.

Copy protection.....
I seem to have the Oz version brought it from www.cdwow.com and copy protection is non exsistent...managed to mp3 the entire album.
Starnge seeing as White Flag was fairly hard to get hold of due to the copy protection on the track.

I bought it at a store that had it out a day early—just one copy. (then saw it much cheaper elsewhere. . .but that’s to be expected, I suppose.) Not bad at all. It’s growing on me. Liked the first one a lot. I’ll need to listen more to get a better feel for it though.

“Here With Me” was fine, the part of “Thankyou” used in the glorious “Stan” was catchy enough but her first album was filled with dull uninspired songs...
And “White Flag” (even it’s a hit) is just another dull number.
