U.S. releases will have new look
Written by Lars-Erik_Olson on June 7, 2000 to Misc.
The Daily Roxette met recently with Steve Johnson, art director for Edel America Records (EAR). Steve has created the cover for the upcoming EAR release of “Wish I Could Fly,” and is also working on the new “Don’t Bore Us… Get to the Chorus” album.
His design for the single, shown here in an exclusive preview, is a complete departure from the approach Karl-Magnus Olsson took with the “Have A Nice Day” album and singles. The photos Steve has used were taken by Jonas Linell for the original “Don’t Bore Us…” album, but he’s used a computer image manipulation program to combine two of them in a fresh way.
As of this writing, the CD packaging is at the printers, and the staff at EAR is eagerly awaiting the first advance shipment.

I think they are better then the HAND photos but why dont take new photos and do whole new single and album covers. The cover photos should not be five years old and should not show Per with a haircut wich he doesn’t have anymore. I think it looks abit cheap but it still looks much better then the HAND cover the wicf cover wasnt so bad I think.

I loved the cheap, tacky, “in your face” feel of the “HaND” sleeve... it was eye-catching and unique, unapologetic... this is just, well, nice.
P.S. The original “WICF” cover was one of my favourites ever... (:

Really nice!
No pink! No screaming!
Well. I didn’t like the HAND covers, but the ROXETTE-Logo was at HAND very good.
I personally like, when Marie and Per are together on a pic, you know... no “cutted” pictures.
Hopefully, they have a great comeback, but they need a BIG PUBLICITY for huge sellings.
c.u. soon

Mmmm... the HAND Roxette-logo is great! And this is not that funny, is it? Well, they have to be sure about what they do for their BIG comeback, so they don’t want to take risks. It’s OK, Marie looks great as always, but Per’s out-of-date-pic is not OK... though the design job is good, cuz Per’s hair in that photosession is not something I’ve ever liked. Good luck Roxette!!! (PS=Lars, has the tracklisting been decided yet? Do you know what they’re thinking about?)

Good to see that they use a beautiful picture instead of that cheap look from HAND with its ugly typework and screaming faces on the cover.
Although they could take some of the sexy shots in the booklet, also the Roxette logo from HAND isn’t bad.
I think Roxette deserves a great look for this great comeback!
