Per invests in Net music company
Written by roxeteer on June 2, 2000 to Misc.
According to Expressen, Per will be one of the co-owners in a new Swedish company concentrating in live music broadcasts over the Internet. The company, Cell, established by “IT baron” Christer Sturmark, has some very well-known co-owners to help in the start-up: ex-ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus and singers Peter Jöback, Tomas Ledin and Meja Backman

This venture has the possibility of being great news for Roxette fans. 1) The sites these guys have already put together for Jöback (a singer) and Kristina från Duvemala (a musical) are first class... they’ve got a professional look and feel (in contrast to the ugly, pasted together look of the HAND site). So I’m hopeful that this means the next Roxette album will have a great Website.
2) A great-looking Website would also mean a great-looking CD package?!? I should look Karl-Magnus up when I’m in Stockholm and tell him face-to-face how much Rox fans HATE his work.
3) More Roxette on the Web for fans around the world to be able to have access to.

Not exactly. Here we’re talking about authorized live broadcasts, not distributing illegal copies of music. They are probably using technology called “streaming” which means that the data will be sent as the user watches the broadcast. Streaming doesn’t allow users to make their own copies of the broadcast – at least not very easily.
