AdLibris doesn’t seem to ship outside Sweden. CDON does, but will only have the 7 track as far as I understand it.

Why again normal and not normal limited edition..???
What’s the point to sell Roxette demos only in country that doesn’t love Roxette so much??
And why this store sells only in Sweden??
In what year we are living??
Is it 2007 or 1907??

“The one sold via Swedish Internet bookstore AdLibris will contain nine tracks, while the “normal” issue only contains seven”.
It’s just a marketing trick to sell more: the die-hard collectors will buy the book twice, to get both CD’s. And people who don’t live in Sweden will pay loads in Ebay to get the one being sold via Adlibris, because it has more tracks... This is is turning into a “tradition”, to have different releases in order to sell more. Händig man single and double (even the 18 tracks fit on one CD), now this...

i have to say i find it odd that on the cd they are roxette tracks on it instead of per gessle solo tracks only. If so they could of done a book in english at least.

so per is milking roxette to promote his book? WHy on earth didnt’ roxette fans get those demos on singles or another compilation? I am officially mad now

@tevensso : I’m not sure, but I think CDON doesn’t ship books outside Sweden... At least you can’t order books on the European part of CDON...
wilmpie_dimpie said on September 12, 2007 11:28:
@ coyboyusa : I agree, those demos should have been on the Roxbox, instead of on a special limited cd which is difficult to get for fans outside Sweden...

rossyrox said on September 12, 2007 14:29:
I am sick the back teeth of this Sweden only garbage.
Those demos are mostly demos to ENGLISH ROXETTE songs yet as per frucking usual it is a complete barsteward to get hold of them in the UK.
Nicely released just after a Swedish tour where lots of international people were in Sweden.
There is no excuse for not releasing an English copy of the book too.
We’ve been ripped off for years with numerous greatest hits albums then we finally get something worth having and it’s harder to get hold of than rocking horse shat.
marcusvandeursen said on September 12, 2007 14:38:
Having an English edition is something else, as quite some people interested in the book probably know Swedish. However, not being able to get the book delivered to a foreign address is just the most ridiculous marketing exercise for releases that i’ve seen yet.

Pff....than we will get the 2 missing songs on the net later I’m sure! I’m not buying this book twice! *shakes head*
The companies are getting more and more strange ideas to get more money!
Which version do one get if he buys it in a normal bookstore in Sweden?
I was happy to find www.bokus.se and now this! Sorry...I just have some really rude words on my mind which I don’t wanna mention here!
rossyrox said on September 12, 2007 15:24:
We need to convince people in Sweden to hold off buying the book until the 9 track version is made available to the world.
I might start http://www.dontbuypersbook.com

I won’t buy that book because i don’t know nothing of swedish!!
First a cd in a newspaper, now a cd in a swedish book!!!
And the international fans, what?? very bad, Per!! very bad!!!
animalkingdom said on September 12, 2007 17:54:
So if I pre-order it I WILL get the deluxe/limited edition with the CD? For 29 euros or so?
tevensso (moderator) said on September 12, 2007 18:05:
Animal: That’s how I read it. I’ve pre-ordered the AdLibris version. AdLibris is one of the best book stores in Sweden.
Kerstin said on September 12, 2007 19:37:
I try to understand about it...
On one hand, he is a swedish singer, publishing his music in his homeland and in his native tongue. So it’s obvious to write a biography in Swedish.
But on the other side, the fan base he has, is also based on the Rox fan base, which developed over the last two decades and which is definitly international. I really would like to know, how much of the sold copies of “Mazarin”, “Son of a plumber” and “En händig man” went outside Sweden or how much of the tickets from the Mazarin- and En händig man-tour went to non-swedish people. I’m pretty sure, it was quite enough. So I think, he could at least pay SOME tribute to that and to ALL of his fans and also offer an English version of the book.
Something, I ask myself is, why does this book have to contain a cd? Is it really just a little extra present or is it to offer an incentive to buy the book? Why not selling the book as it is and maybe reactivate the Bad Hair Day ;)

AdLibris also has a site in norway http://www.capris.no/
I don’t think this is a milking thing, I think it has to do with that AdLibris is owned by Bonnier who also owns the bookcompany that are publishing the book, so maybe they just want to sell as many as possible through their bookstore.
I think this is a great CD! I’m so happy to see that svarta glas is on it! This is the best news since the news about EHM tour/CD. I thought we would never get svarta glas! Thank you Per!

We’re fooled and I don’t feel good about it. Shame on you Per! You just seem to be thinking about the earning as much money as possible with releasing so many stuff in many different formats. I am sorry but this is how I feel right now.

Does anybody know for sure that any version of this book + cd can be order outside EU ar at least outside Sweden???
This situation is ridiculous.
(but everythimg in this music business is ridiculous. I remember that i bought a Roxette DVD and send it to a fan 10 000 km away from me, just becouse the local EMI representitive “coudn’t” order it.. and they blame pirates for bad sales !!)
For the money which i spent on Western union and shipping i could buy 3 times more cds than i actually bought!)

Why Per said that Roxette wasn’t interested in release demos in the RoxBox and now he is? I don’t understand. Maybe he understood that fans really wanted to listen to those songs, but, in my opinion, this in not the best way to show them. I know the most important proyect Mr Gessle was involved in is Roxette, but in that case those songs should have been realeased on the RoxBox. This book shouldn’t have any CD at all. That would be the best.
I’m not going to buy the book, and, personally, I will wait to get the songs from the internet.

@Danielalv... if we- fans outside of Sweden -manage to get hold of the 9-track release at a reasonable price , not having to pay over the odds for it on eBay, yes we will be happy... but at this point in time nothing seems to point in that direction :o(
Perhaps we foreigners should start complaining with the actual publisher of the book...

It’s really frustrating. I have no idea how i will get the CD.

What a total shock this is. I wasn’t expecting any roxette demos when reading the article.
Though they are his work and I will be buying each book for sure, probably via ebay like all others out of europe.
It will be good to get that LTYH demo in high quailty, love that demo :)
daniel_alv said on September 13, 2007 13:40:
I think the CD is great since it is a little piece of everything on it.
I really feel sorry for you guys outside of Sweden, but as one person said, maybe you should blame the publisher and book stores instead of blaming per. And hey, you to agree that it would be really stupid to release the book worldwide in english since only roxette fans and real heavy musicfans knows who Per Gessle is outside Sweden, right? It probably would cost more to translate the book then they would get in sells.
You outside Sweden maybe could write to the publisher and ask if you can buy a copy from them.
Adde said on September 13, 2007 15:18:
I’m really looking forward to hear those demos. :)
Regarding multiple releases, we have had them before.
Remenber when a single was released in 7” and in 12” in each country ??
Later on there where cd singles in cardboard sleeves and plastic cases.
Nobody complained about it at that time....
By the way....I will buy both editions....
CRIZ said on September 13, 2007 17:47:
I think every problem would be solved if AdLibris would sell abroad! I’ve nothing else to complain about!! The book looks great!
If Adlibris doesn’t want to I have to be satisfied with the 7 track CD and the book via bokus.com.....and steal the missing 2 songs from the net...not my fault..sorry...This thousand- different- versions- thing gets on my nerves actually!
Speedo said on September 13, 2007 18:06:
I wrote an e-mail to AdLibris and asked them if they could deliver outside of Sweden. I got a reply telling me that at this moment it is not possible for them, but maybe in the future ...
Why oh why does Per not sell the book directly from his own website??
You can buy t-shirts and stuff from www.enhandigman.se , so why not add the book!
Right now, the Roxette Fanclub would have come in handy... because there we could always order these kind of things : )
tevensso (moderator) said on September 13, 2007 18:16:
Yes, I’m sure that would’ve worked out just fine.
Gachy said on September 13, 2007 19:05:
Adde, that’s not the same. There were different ways to get the cd singles (the fan club, ebay, tradera and so on). But this book is strictly limited to Sweden and there’s not chance to get it abroad. And you can’t compare the price of a cd single with a whole book that costs 250 kr.
If you are going to buy both versions, good for you. I’d rather invest that money in something better and more interesing (like music by another artist).
Emil__BG said on September 13, 2007 19:42:
Other motive is that If the on-line store ship books they probably will have some discounts..
Have in mind than even if you find swede to buy it–the normal way of shipping will be EXPENSIVE!!
usual shipping from Sweden is tooo expensive.
The cost from Sweden to my country is 3-4 higher than from my country to Sweden!!
and they using the same airplanes ;-I
For such book (i guees1-2 kg) it may cost more than the book itself!
tomos85 said on September 14, 2007 06:26:

I’ve made a little simulation yesterday and yes, sending book from Sweden is almost expensive as the book itself - (from 200 till 300 kr) :|
rossyrox said on September 14, 2007 19:19:
We don’t care about the cost, I spent £800GBP on a 3 night break with my wife to Stockholm. I chose Stockholm to see Per’s concert, which was like the book, in Swedish.
Shipping internationally takes no more effort, all they need to do is write the address on and charge/pay the correct postage.
On my nice little boat tour of Stockholm the commentator was saying how small the population of the country is. It’s nice to know this two-bit fly-by-night book firm have such international sales ambition. A$$holes.

Unfortunately I was in my early teens when Roxette used to come to the UK and I couldn’t get to wherever they were easily.
Maybe Per could come to my house with a copy of his book (the 9 track version), he would love the North East of England ;)
