A wound to the abdomen (stabbing or shooting) has a chance of cutting open the stomach, intestines, or bowels. When that occurs, acid and other stuffs are released. It’s like a biotoxin to your body and if the infection occurs, chances on catching it are decent. It all depends on how quick you get to the hospital (pray its RIGHT NEXT DOOR). But the longer you wait (the further away you are), the higher the risk of infection and death.

@Mari: Don´t be so critical to the Swedish police! I don´t think they are worse than any other police force. My personal believes why they never found Palme´s murderer is that it was a proffesional hitman, maybe even hired from the military or so...

Otherwise I agree with Tevensso. I didn´t care about her as a politician either, but it is truely horrible that something like this can happen!!

I agree with Per_mson, don’t be so hard on the Swedish police. They are doing all they can and in this case they won’t be holding back any effort to catch the guy. I don’t think the police can do anything more than what they are doing now.

This is the third year in a row that something really awful happens on my birthday, I wonder how long this will go on. I’m starting to wonder if I will ever have a happy birthday again?

They did the same kind of thing when Princess Diana died in 97 for people all over the world to write there messages of sympathy.

Solved crimes of every crimes in Sweden (2002) is 27%
and in Finland (2002) 63,8%!!!
The source is Center of Statistics in Finland www.tilastokeskus.fi and Center of Statistics in Sweden. www.bra.se
So you really think Swedish police is good? They solve only 23% of crimes! How it’s possible that they are so much worse than Finnish police?

The e-mail accused Lindh – who campaigned hard for Swedes to vote “Yes” to joining the euro in a referendum Sunday – of being a “power-hungry bitch sitting in the lap of big business,” public service SR radio said quoting from the letter.

The e-mail, which was not passed on to police, was sent to Lindh on Aug. 27, the day after an article written by her and Carl-Henric Svanberg, chief executive of the telecommunications company Ericsson, was published in a leading daily newspaper.

Lindh, a member of the working-class-rooted center-left Social Democratic Party, and Svanberg, one of Sweden’s richest men, argued that a rejection of the European Union’s common currency would harm jobs and investment in the Swedish economy.

Lindh, a 46-year-old mother of two, was fatally stabbed by an unknown male attacker Wednesday when she was out shopping with a friend. She died of her wounds Thursday.

Like most Swedish politicians, apart from the prime minister, she had no bodyguards.

Many Swedes fear her murder will go unsolved like that of Prime Minister Olof Palme who was shot dead in central Stockholm in 1986 while walking home from a cinema. Palme had given his bodyguards a night off.

Top Foreign Ministry official, Mikael Eriksson, told the radio the letter was not passed on to the police unit responsible for ministers’ security, Sapo. He did not specify what threats were contained in the e-mail.

“In a situation when the foreign minister is dead, you obviously look at all measures and routines that could have been handled differently,” he said. “But in this particular case I don’t want to say whether this should have been handed over (to Sapo).”

Sapo deputy chief Kurt Malmstrom said the threat analysis team responsible for assessing potential threats against cabinet members should have seen the letter.

Eriksson said Lindh had not seen the e-mail because she had explicitly said she did not want to see any such letters.

I remember an interview with her, when she said that once she had a conversation with the russian foreign minister by phone with the help of an interpreter when her younger son who was about 2 years old at that time came to her crying because he hurt himself.
She told him with nice voice ” kom, kom lille gubbe” ( “come , come sweetheart”) and then she realized that the interpreter translated it too, and the russian foreign minister thought that she said it to him.
She was thinking what to say now, it was quite embrassing but then the child started to cry so loudly that the minister heard it too and they started to laugh ´cos it was clear that Anna didn´t want to flirt with him but she wanted to console her little boy.

I feel so sorry about her.
I hope the killer will be found soon.

“the suspected 35-year old is under arrest!

what else..
the man says he’s innocent! he’s feeling very bad and tried to commit suicide. according to his lawyer the evidences are too weak.
he will only be arrested for a week. if they want to keep him longer they will have to get more evidence!
the police still haven’t said anythíng bout the DNA analyzes that’s been made. they are also expecting a DNA analyze from the murder weapon. this is supposed to come from great britain in about six weeks (sheeesh, that’s a long time!!)
