The Best Album

I’d say:
STONE ROSES - The Stone Roses
Ferdan said on December 10, 2002 17:48:
although i don’t like him, i have to say that the best album in POP history is Michael Jackson’s Thriller
and in rock history Beatles Sgt Pepper or Abbey Road...

I like HAND! Just don’t think a Rox CD qualifies as the best in history and listing HAND even most Rox fans wouldn’t agree...nevermind!
btw, finally watched Hayden Christensen in Star Wars, you were right, he really looks good in it!

Surely it’s not the best album in music history, but I just love it: “Togheter alone” Anouk.

Difficult question
My heart says “Have a nice day” and “Crash! Boom! Bang!”
My brain says “Joyride”
Markuz said on December 30, 2002 07:04:
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Eurythmics - Peace (1999)
Pink Floyd - The dark side of the moon
BTW, if you really think that HAND is the best album ever... well, then that explains a lot...
Alfonsette said on January 2, 2003 01:15:
@ Markuz
What does it explains?
I’m so interested in!
Doesn’t count as an album? are you regarding HAND as a salute?
I’m confussed

*handcuffs Markuz to the radiator* Now be nice *chuckles*

I do think Joyride is one of the World Best Albums.
I also think Avril Lavigne - Let go, is great. Keeping in mind she was only 16 when she recorded that Album and she wrote all the songs herself! I think she has got some amazing talent!

Ok, for me, there are 5 choices:
Fave Rox-related record: TWATG
Fave recent (past 15 years), NON-Rox related: Adam Schmitt’s “World So Bright” (I’m sorry, besides Rox, there is no finer pop record!!)
Fave record over 20 years old: Fleetwood Mac’s “Rumours” (sorry, MJ’s Thriller” is way overrated, he’s crafty, but no pop genius, that would go to either Per, Adam Schmitt or Lindsay Buckingham, wacko is just that, a wacko, if a crafty one, but no pop genius)
Fave Beatles album: “Abbey Road”.
Fave related Beatles record: Badfinger’s “Wish You Were Here” (Pete Ham is the finest DEAD pop genius)

Vaxjoe - I love you for chosing BC’s Runaway Horses - it is the best - just listened to it today!
In my humble opinion, Beauty and the Beat (Go Go’s) is really the best album - pure pop music. But I suppose if it is the best album of all time, probably Abbey Road (Beatles).

Roxette - The Pop Hits
(Although I would make some slight changes to it:
Addition of:
- Surrender
- Fireworks
- Silver Blue
Removal of Run to Me, because that belongs on The Ballad Hits.)

Oooh... Hard.
Rox Related - Look Sharp!
Rock Related - Queensryche: Opperation: MindCrime
International - Lambretta - Lambretta
Dance or whatever you would categorize it into - Depeche Mode - Violator.

So do I, Jackie, their second album “Lambretta”. VERY cool, if a drop commercial. Reminds me of Garbage, if Shirley Manson was Kylie Minogue!! How did you discover the band?? Me, I caught them by chance at a Swedish music festival at NYC’s CBGBs, all Swedish bands, 4 or 5 of them that night, same amount the night before. Lambretta was the first band to go on, and I dug them. Linda is a great performer!! And the band rocked pretty hard too. I just found the second album in a secondhand store, so I nabbed it. I checked out the website, and found out about their first album from 1999, “Breakfast”, which I’d love to find as well.

If you had to recommend the best album in music history for a pop music lover, which one will it be?
