The green one is nicer. Green is a color that’s not usually featured on Roxette/Per sleeves (TCOTH is the only exception), I guess that’s why I like it more than the red version. But if the single is not much expensive, I think I will end up buying both, haha.

OOOOH MY GOD!
“in two colors “
Brilliant idea!
Maybe there will be single with mix of green and orange?
If you are happy in getting the same songs again and again , good for you.

I think it’s a nice idea. At least, a single is cheaper than a whole 2CD+DVD set (aka “Gift Pack”) full of old material that I got countless times before.

Is there going to be a video for the song?
I still don’t think it’s a smart move to release it as a single. It’s a nice song but just that nothing special and probably won’t help the album it’s playing safe. Hope i’m wrong.

The “Sing Along” tracklist it’s a rip off, it really annoys me and I won’t buy it for sure. Many fans have the same dilemma I guess, to buy it or not.
It would be wise to keep “Silly Really” as a lead-single, which would come along with the album’s international release. Helena sings too much on “Sing Along” in my opinion just like on “Hey Mr. Dj” from SOAP, and if you try to re-brand yourself as “Per Gessle”, better leave Helena backing your vocals.
It’s a pity to choose “Sing Along” when you score songs like: “Party Pleaser”, “Thai” or “Gut Feeling” on the album, which have more in common with Per Gessle than “Sing Along”.
Too much confusion and it’s not Roxette for heaven’s sake even if you had wished for that.

The singles only redeeming feature is Roberta, hopefully in BETTER quality than telias mp3. Collectors have no dilema, they purchase both.

It’s clear this is not Roxette. If some people is still mixing Per’s solo career with Roxette, something must be wrong in their minds. I don’t think the tracklist is a rip off. It includes “Sing Along” plus a so-called B-side which was not included on the CD album. It’s the usual formula.
It’s wise to release a new single every 3 months. “Silly Really” was released in late October, and this new single will be out in February 4. By early February, “Silly Really” will have disappeared off the charts... and they need to keep the interest on the album by releasing a new single. By the way, it seems the album’s “international release” is limited to Germany...

I think that “Sing Along” is a great song. Comerrically-wise it does not really matter who has/shares the leading vocals. The important thing would be that it sells.
I do not like the idea of releasing the same single just in 2 colors with the same content. It would be much wiser to have a UK type of the single with part 1 and part 2 and have the best scenario like this:
part 1:
01. Sing Along (radio edit)
02. Theme from ’Roberta Right’
03. Sing Along (album version)
04. Silly Really (video)
part 2
01. Sing Along (radio edit)
02. I’m Glad You Called
03. Silly Really (Right Into Your Bed remix)
they could have also snapped in the live version from TV4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJUzSnDYI3k
it has really nice piano solo there.
However this is not the case. And buying 2 copies of the same single is a dirty trick. So, my blocked wish is for the single not to sell well for the management to have a lesson.
And btw, whos idea was that to have this type of different-color-same-tracks? Who are to blame?

As long as I know, most of the UK regular singles these days are 2-track cardboard singles too. I don’t know if that Part 1/Part 2 trend is still in use. After all, the physical singles market is no longer what it was in the 90’s. That never applied to Sweden, anyway. And this single is meant to be released in Sweden, don’t forget that. I’ve heard most of the Swedish stores don’t stock many physical singles these days, and it’s easier to buy them online. So, why to put a better tracklist together if most of the single sales these days are digital? It’s pointless.
The different colour cover strategy is not new. Michael Jackson’s “Invincible” album cover was available in five different colours - red, green, orange, blue and the standard silver. But you didn’t have to buy them all if you didn’t want. It would be different if the green one would have included “Theme from Roberta Right”, and the red one “I’m Glad You Called”. That’s more of a dirty trick, because in that case you HAVE to buy both versions. Now it’s not mandatory to get both, just pick up your favourite one...

Yeah, those Part 1/2 CD singles have mostly gone now in the UK. Most shops only sell very limited singles now as well. It’s a shame, because I loved buying singles, but it is much easier downloading them now. Still, I’d rather go to the shop and buy the physical single. It looks better on a shelf :-)

Yeah only 2-track singles mostly now ! However they aren’t cardboard sleeves (THANK GOODNESS!!) They are still maxi’s. :)
I’ve still noticed a few dvd-singles coming out as well. Namely that stupid un-witty Peter Kay songs :S

I also wonder how much the PC CD will cost in Germany. Bengans dropped the price to 99 SEK for the jewel case (while Ginza is still 149). So, it might be so that it will be still cheaper to buy from Bengans and pay the shipping rather than order German one.

I can understand some fans say that don´t like the song but why to say that won´t be succesfull, that will be a media flop... how many here work in music media?
I just like the song, nice if it´s released as a single and well, if it success or not it´s almost a matter of luck.

Talking about “Party Crasher”, I got my copy from CDWOW today. I think it was the right decision, because a local release is unlikely to happen. Sad but true.
Also, I realised that the website of EMI Argentina is no longer available! *shock!*
“EMI.com is currently only available in the UK and the US.
We are working on bringing the site to users around the world.”

if you think it makes no sense to buy both singles you either listen to your brain and just buy one, or your heart and buy both ;)
PS: *whispering* psst psst nobody will call you less of a fan if you only buy one of the two singles ;)

I think Robbie is right
Maybe “Sing Along” is good song but Helena sings too much on it.
You can’t really call it “Per Gessle” single.
She is maybe a good singer, but the way she sings has nothing to do with Party or Crusher. In most of the songs but especially in this song.

So did anyone find the CD single today (both versions)? I had no luck in local shops.
Not even Ginza http://www.ginza.se/index.aspx?dp=1&artnr=195173 have it in stock. And it isn’t possible to choose colour variant from them, so I still hope for my local shops.
Nixie said on February 6, 2009 22:26:
Today I found and bought both versions at Åhléns in Norrköping. They only had one red (the one I bought) but many green.

I like the green one, although the orange cover is bright. But it doesn’t suit the mood of the song.
