No Rockbjörnen for Per

STOCKHOLM - It seems Per Gessle isn't "cool" enough to receive votes in Aftonbladet's Rockbjörnen anymore - Per is nominated in zero categories this time. Most of the artists nominated have been seen on Idol or similar TV competitions.

Who is interested in those one-summer one-hit wonders who want ONLY money. Anyway Per and Marie have already proved their rights to have place in international and Swedish music business.

Hm... I really thought he’d atleast get nominated in the “best live act” category, which he actually would deserve, but I suppose it’s not “his” fans that did the most voting this year. The only reason those Idol-so called-artists get nominated are the young teenage girls that has nothing better to do than to vote, vote and vote. Let’s face it... most of us Gessle-fans, atleast around here, are a bit older and perhaps have other things to do than to vote 100-eds of times just to get Per nominated.

Maybe Gessle is not cool enough to get nomination, but he is cool enough to be my idol for the rest of my life. That’s quite an achievement I think!!!

Well, I’m not that teenager anymore, but I’ve voted at least 10 times... And yes, I had high hopes that Per would get nomination for Best Live Act.
And talking about those crazy Swedish teenager girls, there were many of them in Per’s concert in Stockholm ;)

I’m afraid this says more about the transient, here-today-gone-tomorrow nature of the music industry than the Rockbjörnen. The charts bear very little significance to TDR readers these days, and sadly they haven’t done for some time.
The slack-jawed, drooling, dumb-as-a-brick plebs that make stuff like the Crazy %£$&ing Frog get to #1 don’t want acts like Rox, GT, Per and Marie that have shown they can stand the test of time. They want to be told who to like, who to listen to, what to think - because they can’t be arsed to find out for themselves.
Thank goodness our minds are our own. No bugger tells me what to think.
