Roxette World Tour 2011 schedule

“En händig man på turné” kicks off in Halmstad

Written by tevensso on July 11, 2007 to , and .

HALMSTAD - Before 17,800 people (out of 19,000 tickets available,) Per entered the stage at Örjans vall in Halmstad yesterday. Unfortunately there was a heavy drizzle over Halmstad during the evening. Per was in a great mood and exclaimed "This is the best band I've ever been in. It was also the best tour premiere of mine ever!" Per continues "This band is actually so tight that for the second week of rehearsals we only worked on switching the set list around…"

The concert itself was very Gyllene Tider oriented, with 10 out of 23 songs. The rest consisted of seven "En händig man" songs and six from "Mazarin." Per was a bit upset with the rain as it made it hard to move on stage. "Once with Roxette I ran into Jonas Isacsson when the stage was wet. I smashed into his guitar!"

The band was in top shape. MP was sharp, and looked sharp in his nice tie, Helena was cute (and sang well) and Clarence hit every key.

The stage was fabulous. A great light show with two rather big video screens that showed what was happening on stage with some effects added. The show started by the way with a 40 minute video showing Swedish artists over the years, and ended with Per's new "secret track" which I won't tell what it is. The video wasn't shown though.

Biggest song: Sommartider probably, the sing-a-long must've been heard for miles!

Many fans from all over the world attended the concert; Russians, Norwegians, Finns, Swedes you name it.

Great!!
I want Dixy live plz!!

Must have been awesome!

Wish all of you who are there and on the other shows, a great time!!!

And, wow, a secret song ? I’m kind of confused with the mention of this secret song. If it wasn’t played there or shown on the video, what’s the point of talking about a secret song? Would be kind if someone could clear that up for me and others as well.

Take care!

Wow!What a great show! Not as great as Mazarin, but still an awesome one! Can’t wait next concerts!

great show but ehh too much GT and why no songsa from the early abums??? a bit dissapointing

Wow absolutely great playlist!!! So I‘m really looking forward to Göteborg and the other concerts I go. :-)
It´s the first time I see Per solo, it will be something really special for me...

WOW! It’s wonderful!!! 8-) Great tracklist!!!

I wish it would be a GT concert instead... it’s kind of disappointing to hear Gessle sing GT songs with the “wrong” band. Without GT or Roxette, Gessle’s a nobody... I was at the premimiere of the EHM tour but with very mixed feelings. It was so-so...

photos please :)

@Roxrider: Per mentioned in his blog that they recorded a secret song in Tits & Ass after the rehearsals. Must have been a spontaneous idea.

thanks for the link!! as always!!!

@ unreal: You’re welcome. :-) And in case you may wish to save that stream video bit too:

(@ Mods: I only just hope it’s ok to post such download links for the videos here?... If not, I’m sorry, please do remove them, and thank you for your understanding. :-))

After listening all song in that order i would say ====tooo much Gyllene Tider ,so little Gessle..

It’s seems like he didn’t make solo albums before Mazarin ,neither english albums..

Let’s hope that the tracklist is made to trap old GT fans and he will changed the tracklist latter.
Cos even for them it wil be a little borring and sound not-quite-right.
For people like me who have been on Mazarin and GT25 it would be...samma gamla sång-show den sjungs om igen om igen

Thank you for sharing sweepi.

Well, I’m a GT fan but he won’t trap me with tat. It just feels just wrong that he sings GT stuff without the other four guys. I miss them so much!

At the EHM concert I decided not to visit any of Per’s solo concerts any more... However, by playing all that GT stuff he admitted himself that he isn’t able to make a whole tour with only his songs. I really hope he’ll have a pause for the next years. Jag har fått nog... :(((

I understand that they recorded ’alternative’ versions of some old GT songs having fun as we have come to expect from Per.

@roxgirl_germany: Thanks a lot for you kindness. I really appreciate it.

Now we just need to know the name of and hear it, lol . That would really cool.

Thanks again!

Take care!

It’s a shame he didn’t play great songs like ’Pa våg’, ’Inte tillsammans, inte isar’, ’Galning’, ’Blå december’, ’Rickie Lee’, ’Viskar’, ’Timmar av iver’, ’Rädd’, ’Regn’... He’s plenty of own stuff, I don’t know why he still plays the same old and worn GT songs... (Yawn). I won’t see him live, but now I don’t know if I’ll get the DVD that (supposedly) is going to be released after the tour. Just for 6 songs, it’s a pointeless investment.

As long as I read here, even GT fans are tired of this...

So what, is it now my turn to start to complain about everything related to the tour? Well, I’m not going to do that... I think the set list is great, with the most recent PG tracks and some of the best GT tracks. Konstpaus & En händig man are one of my favourites albums!!! I really think that his latest two Swedish albums are better and more concert-able than the previous ones. He has also stated that he doesn’t want to mix languages, so you shouldn’t expected any TWATG or SOAP. I would have loved to be able to go to some of those concerts. And I certainly do not want Per to have a few-years-rest.

The concert was great, but I agree with Anders Nunstedt who thinks that he played too many GT songs. It’s a SOLO tour so why doesn’t he play his solo stuff. He didn’t play any old song...it’s a pity. I enjoyed the concert but also think that it was too short. Ok, he played 23 songs but did it in about 1 h, 40 minutes...hm. I hope he adds a few songs to the list. There would be at least enough time to play them.

Helena sung the 2nd verses of Vilket håll du än går and När alla vännerna...what can I say..it was horrible. This woman cannot sing. And that’s really a pity because she really looked nice and smiles all the time and is really nice to look at. But please..don’t let her spoil Per’s songs. Uah..

I disagree with Tev about the stage. It’s a boring stage, no ideas there. The 2003 stage was much better. Some lights in the back and that was it...hm.
But I really liked the idea of showing videos instead of featuring a band in the beginning. It was nice to watch them and it didn’t get boring as it sometimes does when you’re listening to the same bad band for 40 minutes. Nice idea! And the intro with När vi två blir en was fabulous!

And it was really fun to see how the EHM songs develop during a concert. They played a gorgeous version of Jag skulle vilja....when everybody thought that the song was finished they started it again with a great and somehow new melody. I hope they keep it that way.

@ mareo: Well, it’s not a complaint, but we are all individuals and can say what we think. I can’t “force” myself to like something only because it’s been done by Per. I just don’t feel the same enthusiasm with his solo stuff and think it’s only half as good as when he’s together with GT or Marie. And here in Sweden I think we’ve just had too much of him for the past few years.

If you would have loved to go to the concerts, great. You can have my ticket next time ;-)

I agree with those who said that that it’s wrong to perform GT songs without the band itself. I love Per, but I wonder what GT guys think about it, I guess they are not that happy.

Hi. What a wonderful concert! Here is my short review...

Per and his band were on top form, and the sound was really tight. The bass was very prominent and the faster songs rocked. The surprise highlight of the evening was “En sten vid en sjö i en skog”, which for me was the first song which was truly perfect and kicked ass. The four songs before the first break were really intense and completely unrelenting and breaktaking in their sheer brilliance. My favourite PG songs though were probably “Om du kommer ihåg” and “Tycker om när du tar på mej”, which provided such a nice contrast. Also, “Min Hälsning” was such a perfect ending, and a much better finalé than “Billy” on the Mazarin tour. The weakest and least necessary effort for me was “Ska vi älska så ska vi älska till Buddy Holly”, which could have been replaced with something more relevant.

One striking aspect of the performance was that the set list pulled no surprises. The Mazarin tour offered some gems from Per’s past (e.g. “Timmer Av Iver” and “Segla På Ett Moln”) and the GT25 tour had “Fån Telefon” and “Min Tjej Och Jag” which were not performed on Återtaget. All the songs this time came from the GT25 Hits (9), Finn Fem Fel (1), Mazarin (6) and En Händig Man (7), with only the 7 EHM songs being new for those who attended the last two tours. I’m not very bothered that there were 10/23 GT songs, but I think that it would be nicer with some surprises. E.G. Sacrifice “Ska vi älska så ska vi älska till Buddy Holly” & either “Det hjärta som brinner” or “När alla vännerna gått hem”, and instead throw in “Trött” and a couple of different tracks from his early solo albums. Then it’s 8:16 GT:PG tracks with a couple of old songs performed live for the first time this decade. That’s quite a small change but it would make a big difference!

So that’s a fan’s reaction and suggestion, and critic Anders Nunstedt (like many fans on this site) commented that there were too many GT songs. But I must say that much of the audience was liking most the classic GT tunes. In that respect I don’t think that 10/23 is is really excessive. Although perhaps this statement does not apply to the minority of hardcore fans and critics at the show, in terms of pleasing the audience as a whole (i.e. the public) this ’greatest hits + EHM’ approach is probably spot on. For me personally, however, the lack of surprises reduced slightly the impact of a really marvellous show.

Looking forward to Helsingborg, then Göteborg with a friend from England, then Christinehofs Slott and Varberg with my father. Bring it on! Best wishes from Rich ;-)

Anyone wanna share any info on the secret song? Or is it just that? A secret!!

The setlist was quite surprising! There were a number of songs which surprised me on there. Ska vi älska så ska vi älska till Buddy Holly and När alla vännerna gått hem being my two biggest surprises. The reports of Helena singing on Vilket as well was shocking!! Would’ve liked to have seen more from EHM and Mazarin, and maybe a couple of tracks from his earlier albums, but none of the ones which Marie sings on as it would’nt be right without her there. Other than that, it’s all good. Would love to hear this live version of Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke though!! Still my fave song out of the album!!

I also think it was a little to much GT, and there should have been atleast one older song like segla på ett moln.

But the concert was great anyway!

It’s such a shame there are on TWATG and SOAP stuff in there, mixed language gigs are fine expecially for us English!

Btw, did you notice how Per played guitar Fru Nordin. So Pete Townshend, so cool!

please post some photos! :)

Any changes in the setlist over the past shows?

As long i understood after
Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke
they played
om du bara vill и gungar

but i guess our reporters soon will be home and will clear it up.

I was at the concert on friday (in Linköping) and the played Om du bara vill before Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke and after that they played gungar.
Same setlist in Sandviken yesterday.
The show was according to me one of the best Per has ever done, and I’ve been to at least one show on every tour since the Crash! 1994,
Fantastic, looking forward to Västervik on friday already :)

Kiwein: Most people go to his shows to listen to Gyllene Tider. When they see a Gessle tour announced and when they buy a ticket what they are thinking of is “Ah! we’ll hear “Sommartider”!” :)

And I can imagine how Helena sounded. Urgh. Just listen to the YouTube video with Om du bara vill. I couldn’t believe my ears!

Enjoy the rest of the tour :-)
