Christinehofs Slott

Hi. I have EHM concert tickets for my father and me at Christinehofs Slott on 28 July, and now I realise that without a car it will be really hard to reach! Is anyone else going to that concert? What’s the best way to get there without a car: a taxi from Sjöbo or Tomelilla perhaps? I would cycle but my Dad doesn’t ride bikes! If someone else from TDR is going by car then we would be happy to pay something for a lift. Thanks! Best wishes, Rich ;-)
PS Does anyone know a website with links to medium-priced accommodation in Varberg, e.g. a guest house?

Thanks Thomas! Already I have booked a guest house to the east of Varberg as a result of the website link you kindly offered. That’s what I call service!! :-) // Anyone going to Christinehof or will it be an intimate gig with just my Dad, me & the band?!! Cheers, Rich ;-)

Hi. I’m worried now because my father is visiting from the UK and I don’t know how we will get home after the show. Christinehofs Slott is in the countryside and we do not drive. I would be happy to book a hotel in Tomelilla but the same problem arises in that I don’t know how to get back there after the gig. I spoke to someone at Julius Biljettservice today who was at the Bryan Adams gig there recently, and she said that she saw no taxis after the show. With hindsight it was silly to get the tickets, but I did and am now completely stuck...
Is anyone on TDR going to the concert? I would be happy to pay you for transport to and from the show if my father and I can join you in the car. We can go to Sjöbo or Tomelilla or Lund or Ystad or Malmö or anywhere to be picked, and can book a hotel there afterwards. Please help me if you can!! I would be very grateful indeed. Thanks, Rich ;-)

Rich! I don’t even know where Christinehof is at! Sorry to miss you in Halmstad. :(

Hello Rich!
I’m not going to the Christinehof concert.. I was, but now I’m not.. though, I’d like to do something to try and help you anyway.
As I see it, it would be best for you to stay over night in Tomelilla, since you can both get there and back by train (from/to Malmö). So. Then you need to get to and from Christinehof aswell... and I really think a taxi is the best option. Here’s the adress and telephone number to Tomelilla Taxi:
Tomelilla Taxi
Järnvägsstationen
27335 TOMELILLA
Tlf. 0417 - 100 01
I have no idea what it’ll cost you, but it’s the best option I think. Though, you most likely have to order the taxi in advance, since I don’t think there will be any taxi’s standing around waiting outside the concertarena “just in case”. If you know what I mean. Perhaps there could be some special transports to and from the concert with busses or something... I dunno. But maybe it’s worth checking it with the tourist agency in Tomelilla? Their e-mailadress is: [email protected]. Maybe they have some other suggestion on how to best get to and from the concert aswell.
Now, I hope this can help you a little bit. It must be a way to soleve the transport problem, ’cos I find it hard to believe they would have a concert at Christinehof if it’s impossible to get there without a car.
Have fun!!

Hej rich,
i´m going there, and i have a car,
unforunatly i´ll be comming from skövde, or somewhere in the neighbourhood,
so the picking up and driving you there migth be hard to organise,
but maybe i can give you a lift after the concert,
as i´ll probably be sleeping in the car that night, that shouldn´t be a problem.
also i´m already in sweden and don´t know when i´ll check the net again,
if you still want the ride look for me in the at christinehofs slott :p
hope to see you there,
spyboo

@ Rich-UK: Sorry, no intimate gig. ;-) I´ll be going to Christinehofs Slott, too. Got a hotelroom in Tomelilla and I´m hoping to get to the slott somehow since I´ll arrive by train... :-)

lol, for an intimate gig you should have come to Visby, only about 4000 visitors, and very relaxed :p

Hej Rich how did you and your father get on, did you get home okay?
Baby-C said on July 31, 2007 00:10:
Yea... that was what I wanted to ask aswell? Did you get to and from the concert? Hope you enjoyed it anyway.
Here’s an article from the local newspaper Ystad Allehanda.
http://www.ystadsallehanda.se/article/20070730/TOMELILLA/707300070
It doesn’t say that much about the concert itself though.. just talks a lot about a german couple (Diana Levermann and Jens Brockhaus) that was in the front row, were going to 4 concerts, and that believed that the rain would stop when Per came on stage and so on. They also got autographs from the whole band. Someone from here maybe?
Then the article goes on by saying it was 4600 people there, and that the audience whistled along to “Här kommer alla känslorna” like a bunch of canaries out of tune.
Cinnamon said on July 31, 2007 21:26:
*lol* No1 near me did whistle at all!!! :-)
Greetings to the german couple I got to know there...see you in Malmö...and to the belgian girl...hope your following concerts were great!!! :-)

Let´s see what tonight brings :)

Hi Baby-C. I need to thank you for the phone number for Tomelilla Taxis! I used them to get from Tomelilla to the concert, and back to Sjöbo afterwards where my father and I caught the midnight bus to Lund with about 40 seconds to spare!! The concert was amazing: the best of our lives. I’m soooo glad we were able to go there. We had an excellent view and the sound was superb. Varberg the next night was probably a slight better performance from the band but it was really windy (and cold towards the end) and the sound was not as good (fewer speakers and no screens). Our favourite songs from the two concerts were En Sten Vid En Sjö I En Skog (much better than GT25) and Ljudet An Ett Annat Hjärta (simply amazing). I know that they’re both Gyllene Tider songs and this is a Per Gessle solo tour but, hey, that’s the way it is :-) This band is probably the best we’ve seen in our lives and other highlights were På Promenad Genom Stan and Om Du Kommer Ihåg. I was surprised by just how good Hannas Kärlekspil was because for me the saxophone spoils the album version. Min Hälsning was the perfect ending (better than Billy). My father didn’t see the Mazarin tour, so it was special for him to see lots of new Per’s solo songs live. He is an author of books about 60s music and thinks that Per is the best songwriter since Lennon/McCartney. For me Mazarin is the best album in history. The Christinehofs Slött experience will be in our minds forever so thanks Baby-C for your help in making it happen. Best wishes from Rich ;-)

Hej Rich, I finally passed through Lund today.... seems nice from the view I got on the train! ;)

Hej Cinnamon,
thanks for the greetings and many greetings back also to Ann from Belgium and our Mexican Family from the “german couple” Diana & Jens. We had a wonderful time in sweden and met lots of very nice and interesting people from all over the world. The concerts we have seen have been great, Per and band have been doing a great job on stage. We are looking forward for the next tour! The article in Ystadsallehanda is a nice memory for us. In the same paper was a very critical article about per´s merchandising music, so we tried to do our best to put the right light on Per & friends. Thanks for a great holiday and wonderful evenings with you!
