Roxette in the US, new idea

Im so psyched that a new record deal has been signed. If they were smart, after the hits release, Roxette should take the best tracks from HAND and RS, add in A Thing About You, and Opportunity Nox and release it as a new album. What tracks do you think would work?

Just a thought.

i think that wud make a nice album ;)

I don’t see any point in that... It’s almost as trying to bring the past again and quoting Per “the old sound is buried and dead”. So what’s past is past no reason to bring it back to push it so artificially ... the RoxHits are enough for the moment now in the US! Focus on now and on what’s there to come....

its funny that per says the old sound is buried an dead.. yet they keep releasing it? how many times has the look or joyride been released on a roxette cd now?

One thing is to release the songs that were HITS in their own time and right, the issue is totally other than fans wanting songs to sounds like those hits of those times and eras ... as if like could be young forever and never evolving and maturing. Discussing why the hell Roxette are constantly releasing hits compilations is a topic that we’ve been through so many time that it starts to smell like old socks... no point in tapping the feet on the ground all the time with it. Let’s move on ... what’s done it’s done and it’s not even up to us to change it. It’s a decision from each fan to go along the road or not...

Isn’t that exactly what Melody Club is doing (another Swedish group). They got signed over here in the US and are going to release a new album here composed of songs from their two prior albums over in Sweden.

rs was a run back to the old sound they shouldnt’ put it outm there shoudl be a double disc of hand with all the tracks from the recording sessions put out it woudl sell well or at least enough to stirr interest

Didn’t they mesh Robbie Williams first few CDs as a The Ego Has Landed for release in the States? It would be an interesting option, I suppose, but they’d probably put Little Girl on there. . .yuk.

Stirring interest is the first thing. Hardcore fans here already have HAND and RS, and other than a rarities compliation (which, if we get a US released RoxBox, then is it really necessary?) what, other than compilations designed to lure new fans in, can they release? I’d say this is really a measure for future Rox projects. Assuming there are any.

It is certainly a feasible idea, but only if the GH sells! Otherwise, I doubt the record company would be interested!

Sales and charts? Charts and sales?
Jesus christ ... why does it always have to be like this?

I think, they should release both albums Have A Nice Day and Room Service. The idea of releasing the best tracks of these two albums on one CD smells like “Favourites From Crash!Boom!Bang!” to me...

LOL @ AURYTE.

Auryte: That was funny!

The idea of mixing a selected list of tracks for the US market ain’t anything new, for instance Delta Goodrem seems to be doing the same for her debut album there as well. But I personally would find it a bit “boring” to have two albuns, that are not that similar as one may think. On one hand HAND is a complete box of diferrent material jumbled into one cd. And RS is much better elaborated selection in terms of song selection and mantning a musical sound and production unity which is something Roxette had done before.

So it’s like almost trying to mix the black with the white ... and realsing it’s a strange mix in the end. Unless all the selected tracks were “remixed” for a particular release like this one. But I don’t believe in that ... if that is on Per’s idead he would have already stated it somewhere.

Nothing will work in US without big promotion.
