Roxette World Tour 2011 schedule

New release date for Europe

Written by tevensso on February 15, 2006 to .

STOCKHOLM - The album release date for Europe has been pushed back from March 6 to March 27. However, Germany will release the album at the end of April since EMI Germany wants to do heavy radio with “Jo-Anna Says” as the first single. United Kingdom has yet to respond to EMI about the release. It seems Brazil and Argentina will release it, but no dates are known yet, while Japan is uncertain.

The album has been confirmed in these countries so far (please note that March 27 does not apply to all of them):

  • Austria
  • Germany
  • Switzerland
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Norway
  • Greece
  • Holland
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • Russia
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Taiwan
  • Hong Kong
  • South Africa

any info about a tour? we will buy it again to see him live on stage :-D

“United Kingdom has yet to resond to EMI about the release”... classic!

Hope UK get its too.Hope UK get its too. A bit strange Norway is on the list, since they’ve had it in sale since Nov 21st, even 2 days before Sweden. But I hope it means EMI Norge will do some promo for it this round.

Great! Looking forward to seeing it in stores here in Switzerland!

Maybe, Mr. DJ will not work in Spain.
I think EMI Germany is very smart and I would like to ear Jo-Anna as first single in Spain.

I love all songs from SOAP, but I think Jo-Anna is more commercial to arrive to “NON Roxette’s fan people”.

Actually I’ve also thought Son Of A Plumber was already released in all Scandinavian countries.

Isn’t the album already released in Finland and Norway? At least you can buy it here..

Release is on EMI Spain web. 06-03-2006

But there will be no single released commercially??

Cooool!! Springtime - Gessletime!!

The album is avaliable, in Norway, in all versions including LP. And as Mari said, also in Finland. But maybe they call it release now cause they plan to do a tiny bit of promo work to make people know it’s out there. When Mazarin came out early summer of 2003, they never spent any promotion (besides 1 tv apprearance) before 2-3 weeks prior to the concert in Oslo. And whoops, the CD jumped into the sales chart at #6. EMI wake up, it takes so little to win so much back in sales numbers.

Hihi... A nice birthday present (though I have my SOAP already ;) )

Well the UK lets down the side again.... well done EMI UK.... friggin typical....

Well if there is no release in the UK I can’t see a tour happening here, if there is to be one at all....

As much as I love you live Per I’ll not justify going to Europe to see you my budget just won’t stretch this year....

Shame on EMI UK.... but in all honesty did we expect it released here.....

Now the question...

Why is there no mention of the US ? Even though the Japanese release is uncertain, it was mentioned. And we know Per was here in NYC last fall trying to get SOAP released in the US.

Anything on that? Or it’s been held for a news piece of its own ?

Those of us here in the US would appreciate the info.

Take care!
Carlos E., New York.

Thank you God!!
I

We don’t know anything about the US, so we’re not withholding any info.

Well, the US is always a challenge because Per and Marie haven’t had a standing contract there for 11 years... by default, EMI Canada (for example) will be presented with the album for consideration of a release and then it’s just a question of yes or no. For the US, they have to FIND someone interested in the album in the first place, which is much more difficult...

That’s why Per was here in NYC last fall. However, since then, he and his mannagement never let us know what happend with the attempt to get a deal to release SOAP over here and for that matter the Roxette compilation.

That’s why i asked. We just haven’t had any info concerning that since last fall. I mean, South Africa will get, and possibly even Argentina. I really don’t see why the US can’t get a reease and do like Germany and choose Jo-Anna Says for the first single or even ILILT.

Let’s hope there’s some kind of news shortly.

Take care!
Carlos E., New York.

Once again us aussies get left out. Not that i care, i’ve already got my copy.

But Carlos has a point, we know he was in the USA for that very reason, and since then there has been no talk at all... very strange.

Per was in NYC for Roxette in the first place. And I feel the compilation plans have changed for a global ROX20 release... The SOAP release was just a ’bonus’ but probably not very realistic. I think Roxette is at Capitol since 2002, after EMI cleaned up all it’s worldwide labels and TBH came out in the USA. Anyway – this release is already much more than just a ’European’ release! Canada, South Afrika, South-East Asia, Latin America... :-)

Yeah I wonder about the US release as well.... after all that talk last year....

I can’t see Hungary on the list. We are also in Europe and in the EU.... :-S

The list is not final.

I thought ’Hej Mr. Dj’ will be the first single!?

SOAP would have never worked in the UK anyway. Would have been a big flop. Keeping fingers crossed for tour though!!!!!

Germany will go with Jo-Anna, the rest of Europe with DJ. Please remember that this list of countries is of countries that have CONFIRMED the release, more may, and probably will, be added.

That’s really good news!

I am really curious about the Jo-anna airplay in Germany and IF it will really get air play here at all. I really hope so, but I know the German radio stations and wich songs they play these days...

EMI will have to give them a lot of extra money to get it on air I think...

We will see/here!

To be fair, I’m not holding any hopes for a UK release. It would need loads of promotional work and probably a song like C’Mon to make it. And if the album is being released in places that have more chance of success then Per is gonna go to there and promote, rather than come to UK. Just my thoughts....

I can’t see Romania either. I think EMI should do heavy rotation everywhere with “Jo-anna says”, the best choice for an international release.

??? And what about Baltic states??? Latvia ,Lithuania and Estonia???

I love the map. Very cute!! Let’s hope we have some more red countries in the near future :-) Rich

what is wrong with EMI UK - they are a big bag of tossers!

LOL – who is gona buy it?

Zee... bloody good point!! I hope that there’ll be some sort of incentive for the fans to buy the international version... maybe WITH ’Keep the radio on’...!

Now it really looks like the international release. Hopefully, it’s gonna be a successful one :D

@pwbounce, i totally agree. Anyway we (the whole 20 people who might be interested in SOAP in the UK) already have it anyway, i wouldnt buy it again. sorry per..... u get enough money bringing out lps and cds and loads of greatest hits and live cds etc lol

sorry for my language ;o)

I stand reprimanded.

lol

I wander who will buy SOAP in Poland. Most of the fans have already bought it.

Cool! My country is red! :P

Completely agree with you onlyywhenidream but did we really expect them to release Per stuff when they didn’t even promote The Pop Hits or The Ballad Hits

Endly some good news for us, for Belgium ....

Expect to see in the backs ...

EMI Russia confirmed the date for release, March 27th, but album is already in the shops.
