and isn't it ironic...
onlywhenidream said on April 12, 2006 18:24:
sorry, I’m on my soap box tonight. If you go to www.roxette.se and read the intro about Roxette it says that ’in a time when most 80s artists rely on greatest hits re-packaging and nostalgia events’...
HELLO MR GESSLE - you are about to offer us our THIRD greatest hits package (fourth if you consider TBH and TPH as seperates)!!!!!!
Some may say ’ironic’, I say ’oxymoronic’ and darned ’cheeky’!!!
Max-Tob said on April 13, 2006 07:35:
i think he wrote it.
or at least it is written in his style (probably on purpose?)
rox-kuryliw said on April 13, 2006 09:13:
ye is funny when i read it now. To be honest, roxette dont have the time they want to spend on it as the used to, with maries health and per busy solo life nowadays and there familys.
Sparvogamarie said on April 13, 2006 09:35:
LOL! I wonder if it was intended to be a joke, or if they were serious? Apart from all Roxette’s many many (many) GH offerings, Per has done quite a few, I think there’s a compilation of his Swedish solo work, there’s Halmstads Pärlor AND a GT greatest hits, Kompakta Tider, and I think another GT complilation somewhere in there. And Marie’s done a solo GH too.
What next, Lonely Boys Greatest Hits?

Marie - Äntligen (2000)
Per - Hjärtats Trakt (1993) EMI album.
Hjärtats Trakt - En Samling (1997) EMI album.
Roxette - Don´t Bore Us... (1995)
Baladas En Español (1996) (it counts too!) - No it doesn’t.
Don´t Bore Us... (2000) - Was supposed to be a US release only.
The Ballad Hits (2002)
The Pop Hits (2003)
???? (2006)
GT - Instant Hits - Samtliga hits (1989)
Halmstads pärlor - Samtliga hits! (1995)
Halmstads pärlor - Samtliga hits! (1996) (re-release with e.p.) - Still it’s the same album.
Ljudet av ett annat hjärta/En samling (1997) - EMI album.
Samlade tider (1997) - EMI album.
Konstpaus (2000) - Not a greatest hits album.
GT 25! - Samtliga hits! (2004)
*Plus 3 live albums: Parkliv! (1990) [box only], Återtåget Live! (1997) & GT25 LIVE! (2004); and re-released albums.
Live albums aren’t Greatest Hits either. And re-released albums, what artist don’t have that?
Not that I’m trying to defend the various records, I also think they are a tad too many, but the list isn’t totally fair.
Edit: Typo.

Marie has come up with something original with regarss to her new album... let’s hope that AT LEAST something out-of-the-ordinary will be possible with Roxette’s millionth Greatest Hits (e.g. re-recordings of the hits in new arrangements, or at least some damn good remixes... + ’CRUSH ON YOU ’06 remix’ as the lead single.

For me it’s Roxette’s 3rd Greatest Hits:
1995 DBU-GTTC
2002 TBH/TPH (double price of course)
2006 ROX20
DBU-GTTC US was intended to be a local release like “The Greatest”. I didn’t buy those. BEE is a totally diffferent story...

Agree with Tevensso and Sascha.
Also I think that was actually written for when RoomService was released, so back then it didn’t seem an odd thing to say. Probably wasn’t the right place to add that comment, or that whole paragraph for that matter.

Tevensso:
“Don´t Bore Us... (2000) - Was supposed to be a US release only.”
Yeah, supposed..However it was and still is available (widely) in Europe, anyways. I’ve even read reviews of the collection. Why did they have to release it outside of America too?
So I’d say DBU 2000 counts!
Sascha said on April 14, 2006 16:08:
Because non US fans would have been ripped off for importing that CD otherwise. ;-)
Santi said on April 14, 2006 21:43:
So... then it’s a worldwide release...
(Every Argentinian fan is ripped off for importing anything released in Europe and that’s no reason for EMI or Capitol or Edel or whatever to release it there...)

Not to forget “The Greatest” EMI TOSHIBA 1998 JAPAN ONLY.
However that was EMI TOSHIBA’S Idea not Per or Marie’s.
Dave
P.S. A Worthwhile album because the songs are remastered in High Quality [as good as TBH/TPH] and you have no Copy Protection.

Ouch! How true!
Don’t think he wrote it but they might as well change it (some time soon)...
