Well, I can’t be there as my broadband providor doesn’t allow it, and has set techincal measures and solutions to prevent use of DC and similar programs for all their users.
roxlad said on March 22, 2006 23:31:
I wanted to have a look at the hub but I get this message:
Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request (client sent 192.168.1.2, you have 151.41.243.148)
does it mean my ISP doesn’t allow me to P2P networks???
mbroxer said on March 23, 2006 00:46:
No, it means you have to setup the DC client properly, use other DC client or use some advanced configuration you might find out from other clients of your internet provider.
There is no technical way to block DC, your provider could block some ports, but it cannot block specificly DC. So in most of the cases, if you own your line (and are not behind your corporate firewall), you can use DC.
Room_service said on March 23, 2006 07:49:
I can’t use it. I guess not many people joined because we all are having problems with it. In my opinion, it’s not a very good system to share files. DC++ is the worst P2P software I ever used (Soulseek is a million times better).
Marlene said on March 23, 2006 12:26:
I can use DC and did it till my HDD was full and my CD burner refused to copy it to CD... :-( But I will get a new burner soon (at least I hope so) and then I am back. But without this stupid nick. No clue what made me to choose the old one.
Strest said on March 23, 2006 13:35:
Room_Service: How can it be the worst P2P-system you’ve used if you can’t even use it?
Room_service said on March 23, 2006 15:44:
Strest:
Because I have used others. But DC++ doesn’t work at all. And I am not the one who’s having problems to connect.
mbroxer said on March 23, 2006 18:08:
Room_service, if I can’t play a trombone, I don’t call it the worst instrument of all ;)
Roxrider_USA said on March 23, 2006 20:06:
@Roxlad: Whenever you get that message go to the setting>connections settings page and place the second IP address from that message in the box that says External/WAN IP.
Then, it should be good to go. If not, you probably have to forward your DC ports to your router.
Take care!

gyllene_tjej said on March 23, 2006 20:06:
shine: doesn’t matter, feel free to choose whichever folder(s) you want!
Strest said on March 23, 2006 21:32:
Room_service: So... because you’re not able to get DC++ to work it’s automatically the worst P2P of them all?
Good thinking! Really!
You do know that DC++ is used by a lot more users than soulseek?
roxlad said on March 23, 2006 22:22:
Thanks Roxrider_USA but now it works if I put passive mode (I was active first).
Roxrider_USA said on March 23, 2006 23:49:
@Roxlad: Forward the ports you have for DC to yor router. Go to your router’s setup page and look for port forwarding.
That’s all i can say since i don’t know which router you have and i probably only know how to setup mine. But, i could alwatys help you if you need. It would my pleasure. Enjoy the hub!
Take care!
Carlos E., New York.
roxlad said on March 24, 2006 01:17:
@Roxrider_USA
Thanks Carlos, you’re very kind! Unfortunately port forwarding is like double-dutch to me!!! In any case I managed to log-into the hub (snyxx) and to both download and let smb upload stuff so it should be fixed now.
@All
At the moment I don’t have a lot to share but I’m working to convert some old tapes into DivX videos so that I can contribute too. I have a video of Per singing Dywbmb live which I haven’t seen anywhere else. It was on Italian TV in 1997 plus some Festivalbar performances (I was asked for Real Sugar in another thread and I’ll try to share that too). It’ll take some time because my PC is old, slow and tired!!!! Also I’m trying different bitrates, I tried DivX 6 at 1500Kbps but I can see the pixels/squares so I don’t like the result! I shall try with a higher bitrate.

Now that roxlad mentioned, I don’t have anything others don’t already have. Which, I’m guessing you all already know cause I’m always bragging about it... But my boyfriend is almost constantly online so I’m there to help anyone download stuff from me if others are not available... Well, and to get it all from you :P I still haven’t seen the half of what I downloaded. I am so happy :) GO GO Rox hub :D
edit* By the way, will someone please register me? Admin is never there when I am...
gyllene_tjej said on March 24, 2006 12:20:
I wsh I had a nice PC too...to be able to convert my videos and then share them. Sending tapes to somebody who can do it seems risky though :(
shine said on March 24, 2006 15:42:
gyllene_tjej: With a dvd harddrive recorder you can copy your tapes easy to DVD!
coyboyusa said on March 24, 2006 16:24:

Sire74 said on April 20, 2006 06:25:
@ crashi: You can send the user with NO SLOTS AVAILIBLE a message and ask for an EXTRA SLOT. Sometimes it works! :o)
It was great yesterday!!! Sooooo many users with lots of stuff to share!
I love the HUB!

What address is to the Roxette hub?
How many GB I must have? I haven´t got almost nothing in my computer.
Thanks.
blunek said on May 5, 2006 08:34:
The address is: dchub.basje.nu:412
There is no minimum share limit there. It‘s up to you if you want to share sth to others or not.
Breathe8 said on May 5, 2006 17:37:
Thanks, Blunek.
I was there. 17 users online.
It´s a great that we have got this HUB.

Why I keep getting this message below now when I try to connect? Previously it worked wonderful for me. Please help. Thanks alot :)
“No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.”
Secretkeeper81 said on June 7, 2006 19:46:
I finally managed to connect!! :D But why the download & uploads are so slow (around 5-10 Kbps) when my internet connection is ADSL??
blunek said on June 8, 2006 07:35:
It all depends not only on your connection :0) If you are downloading from a user who has a poor transfer than even you ADSL will not help.
Anyway, welcome to the hub! :0)
RobS said on June 8, 2006 08:19:
Your downloading from that particular user only. If they have a slow upload speed then thats all you will get from them.
Secretkeeper81 said on June 8, 2006 13:33:
You’re right, thanks for you replies, I hope to find some users with fast connections too! ;)

silverblue2006 said on July 24, 2006 02:14:
My roommie has DC, but hers keeps crashing, and I haven’t tried on this computer... It would be so cool to get on, but I have nothing right now, would be looking for lots and lots of stuff, only songs though, since visual things won’t do me a bit of good.
Breathe8 said on October 17, 2006 07:00:
Hello,
Is anything new with the hub? It would be great if Roxette would have own hub again....
gyllene_tjej said on March 22, 2006 22:58:
Really great initiative, I’m game. But still, not that many of us are there, which is strange- judging by the number of fans interested in sharing rare stuff. C’mon guys, join in! But do NOT make official stuff available!
