but madonna was already at number 1, she even entered with both the single and the album to number one, at the same time ;)

@Jud: True, but I STILL expected Madonna in her second, third, or even fourth week to outsell Per!

biggest hit in UK for ages, Everyone is loving it here, 3 weeks both album and single charts. US dont like POP or dance look at rest of the billboard chart, i think she is one of the only ones who isnt rap or rnB lol.

By the way, the single is at #5 for a *second* week (in fact, every song in the Top 5 is holding its position this week...). Two weeks in the top 5 is pretty good!

This album is a great deception, Per without Marie is nothing.
The Per´s energy is empty after 20 years.
I respect him a lot, but I think he must think in another projects because SOAP is a copy of the Beatles, and the Beatles is over.
And for last, Gun Marie Fredriksson will be always THE VOICE and nobody can replace her.
Sorry fans, but you have to know that I am a Roxette fan too since 15 years ago. And I have my own ideas.
Good Luck for P.H.Gessle, but Marie is my favourite, sorry.

almeriakix i totally understand. I think most people around the world have that view. Roxette is best as a duo, marie andper its and very very popular duo. I am talkingt world scale not sweden.

madonna’s “confessions on a dance floor” official release date in sweden was monday 14th november but it was in the shops already on friday the 11th. it went platinum on 15th november. son of a plumber was released on 23rd november and went platinum the same day.

My copy of the CD hasn’t arrived yet thanks to CD WOW’s fast shipping. But from hearing the clips here and there, I absolutely love it. I actually love Per’s solo albums. I can’t get enough of The World According to Gessle and even Mazarin even though I don’t speak Swedish! He has this innocence in his voice which I never get tired of. Don’t get me wrong. I started as a Roxette fan and will always be a Roxette fan but I fell in love with Per the first time and well... who can eplace Marie in Spending My Time? Noone really... But criticizing Per just because you love Marie or Per and Marie as a duo is unfair. Times change. People need to move on with their lives. Per can’t sit around wondering what to do with his life if Marie is not able to join him as Roxette! It’s just unfair.

almeriakix, you are totally wrong. SOAP is a great album. If you don’t like it doesen’t mean albums is not good. The album simply is great. Also my opinion has nothing to do with the fact that album is great. It’s just a fact. Same kind of like fact that Backstreet Boys are crap but Radiohead is a great band. I don’t like Radiohead at all, but I know the that Radiohead is a great band. Opinion has nothing to do with facts.

I think that this Son of a plumber project was a very good idea and the album was even better than I imagined it to be. There are songs that I don´t like so much, but it doesn´t mean that the whole album sucks! I also think that Per sings now better than he ever has!
And by the way Radiohead IS the best band;)!

Everybody has got his own opinion, I think that you “Mari” are wrong, are you the law?
Sorry for my english

Radiohead a Great Band???
Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Rainbow are great bands.
Beatles are a great comercial band.
Roxette is a good band.
Marie Fredriksson is a great singer.
Gessle is a genius.
Mazarin & the world according to Gessle are good albums.
SOAP.... is a poor album, for me of course, is my opinion.
Viva Almeria, catalunya libre!!

the albums don’t go platinum the day they go on sale in the stores just like that, it’s impossible to sell that many CDs in one day, and even if it would be possible, it’s not to sum it all up and announce it already in the morning of the day it’s released.. shop managers don’t stay there at 10 in the morning “ok we have sold 20 copies” “ha, we have sold 100!” ;)
They count the copies that have been ordered by (Swedish) music stores _until_ the date of release. So it counts the orders that EMI (its distribution company) has received until the date. So it means that >60.000 copies of the album were ordered by stores like CDON, ginza, skivhugged, Åhlens etc etc :)
