Lance Armstrong + EPO

So not even this one was playing fair... I think they should do something about cycling. What do you think? What are the reactions to this in your countries (especially interested to know about the USA)?
Take care, and don’t take drugs to cheat! :)

even if Armstrong took EPO during his first tour victory anything with his other 6 victories seems to be allright.
By the way: i’m a big Ullrich fan.

think about all the money armstrong made for alot of people thtas what they were worried about and thats why the allgations have come out AFTER he’s basically retired from cycling
and if you’re gonna go after him then you need to go after every high school athelet who uses steriod and there are ALOT of them

Cycling in the US is not all that popular. I listned to the report on NPR yesterday and I must say my fist impression was:
Who the hell keeps urine for 6 years?
My second impression:
The Frech have been dogging Armstrong for years so this isn’t anything new.
My third impression:
Why keep URINE for SIX YEARS? Unless you’re out to discredit him because of whatever jealous vendetta.
Until, as Spooks said, it’s 100% proved, then it’s just a rumor.

I’m having a problem with the whole “frozen sample kept for 6 years” and the fact that ONLY the “B” sample was available for that year, yet for every year FOLLOWING, the “A” and “B” samples are both available.
Contamination can happen with ANYTHING left for that length of time. I’m treating this the same way I treat a lot of the tabloid trash we’ve heard about Roxette / Per / Marie over the years. BULLSHIT.
StillFar said on August 26, 2005 14:31:
As far as I know it’s very common to freeze doping samples nowadays. Considering that scientists have no way to trace many of the available substances, I think it’s only logical that urine samples are frozen for a longer time, so once a new test is available, they are still able to go back and test them. If you wouldn’t do that, every athlete with a considerable amount of money to his/her disposal could just hire some miracle doctor (did I hear Ferrari) who is always ahead of the anti-doping organizations.
Oh and L’Equipe is definitely not a tabloid, even though the American medias want to portray it as such!
LittleSpooky said on August 26, 2005 22:21:
6 years is still an obscene amount of time to keep a sample.

whats nauseating is if it werent’ american they probably wouldnt’ have said anything, this is what american gets for saving the french in ww2, next time around we shoudl just let em rot
Santi said on August 28, 2005 19:52:
Oh come on, leave WW2 alone, will you? Why does it all have to go back to that for anything about France and the USA? This is about a sportsman, period.
May I remember you the USA exists thanks to the French (go back to 1776 and see who helped the new emerging American country)?
PS. : More than sick to see that you have such a good knowledge about what happened in WW2 but never remember anything else.

i rember plenty santi i was just making a point the french disagree about iraq and now they r taking it out on lance armstraon the french have no balls

Prove it 100% (I don’t care what Armstrong himself says) in a court of law.
The sad thing about this is:
After someone has done something such as win the Tour as many times as Armstrong, beat the home run record (in baseball) and so on down the line... people wait until AFTER the fact to bring these allegations.
Bring it up DURING, because in my eyes, AFTER the event shoots your credibility in the foot. Why? Because it makes you sound like a sore loser and that you’re throwing a temper tantrum.
