x-mas sucks!!!
NeverendingRoxette said on December 21, 2004 09:56:
anyone else here who really hates x-mas?? all the presents, all the x-mas songs?? can’t hear it anymore! I’m really looking forward to the new year, when everything’s over!
sommartiderhejhej said on December 21, 2004 13:13:
I don’t agree.
Those christmas-songs are indeed played all over again, but it’s only a few weeks in a year.
Next week you have to wait about 48-50 weeks to hear them again. :)
I think X-mas is a very happy time, with couzy times with family and friends.
And it is absolutely no stress-time!
No work, but holiday-time here.

I love Christmas.
Mostly cos I get on really well with my family a lot better than I usually would, but also ’cos of the great food, cheesey repeats of old films, and of course santa and the reindeer on the eve ;)
But also cos I was brought up as a Chrisitan and everything, so in that sense it’s very special too.
btw, please don’t flame me for bringing up religion
NeverendingRoxette said on December 21, 2004 18:33:
hey: I’ve got no problem with religion! don’t mind! I’m catholic, and so x-mas itself is a very special day for me. but I hate all the other things around this holiday, e.g. those ugly x-mas songs, where everyone sings about love and how beautiful it is to give love, but I see how people lie to each other on x-mas, give presents and the rest of the year they even don’t talk with each other!
that’s my problem with x-mas!

Nope, I’m with Zaine, I was also brought up a Chrisitan so Christmas is an important time of year for me also, I like buying presents, and seeing people enjoy opening them, but also spending time with family and stuff....
I was not in the Christmas mood last year, but I am making up for it this year, it will be the best in a long time, and I am truly going to make the most of it...
There is one thing I miss though and that is carol services at church, it has been a long time since I have been to church my local church that is, and I often would like to go, but feel I would be out of place, I made a new year’s resoloution to go this year but I have not, but there is still time, and I ain’t doing anything this Sunday, so who knows... :)
Now I must go play my chessy Christmas album! ;)

I love peaceful x-mas time and x-mas food but what I don´t like about x-mas is materialism. :(
RoxHard said on December 21, 2004 22:59:
I don’t think Christmas has anything to do with Christianity anymore. No kid wakes up on Christmas day and says “it’s the day that baby Jesus was born, let’s go celebrate”. It’s all “WHERE ARE MY PRESENTS!” and “I don’t want that!”, “I already have that!”, “I didn’t ask for that!” and “I HATE YOU MAMMY!!!”
I enjoy Christmas, but I don’t delude myself by saying it has anything to do with Christianity. And, after all, a lot of you religious people said “X-Mas”. I had a preist go on at me for 10 minutes in religion class because I said “X-Mas” instead of CHRISTmas!

Majdy said on December 22, 2004 06:49:
well, my Christmas this year won’t be sux. But it’ll be pretty lonely Christmas, because I live far apart with my BF. But since we always have good communication, so I am still happy.
Hopefully next year I could finally celebrate our first xmas together.
ally77 said on December 22, 2004 07:50:

i like the family gathering and all this but hate all the commercial craziness around..
@coyboy: sorry about your dad. Wish you the best.
Kazza said on December 22, 2004 11:24:
Hugs to you coyboy. Thinking of you.
I kinda know how you feel. This will be my Grandmother’s last Christmas.
Kazza said on December 22, 2004 11:32:
I also enjoy the day itself, for the facts that I am also a Christian and that all the family gathers together.
It’s just the lead up that really cheeses me off, especially as they put the Christmas merchandise out in the shops all the way back in September/October and I have to see it every day, so by the time it actually comes around I’m well and truly over it.
And come January, the Easter stock will be on the shelves!!!!
Still not gonna even start on those annoying songs!
Vixzter said on December 22, 2004 19:19:
oh cheer up its christmas....
don’t you just hate that!
no one ever says oh cheer up its easter.

RoxHard said on December 25, 2004 03:59:
Yay! I’m responsible for the first post here on Christmas day! Yaaaay!
But, I’ve kinda spoiled christmas. I just came back from the pub, and I seen all those sparkling gifts lying all over the living room. I just couldn’t resist... :(
I’m a bit bummed out. What am I gonna do now? And for the rest of Christmas day!?! Wait for my little sister to get up and open hers, maybe?
I’m depressed. Anyone wanna split a bottle of wine with me? ;-)
ally77 said on December 25, 2004 04:20:
I am awake, it’s so windy that the wind just whistles through the house, so I came online but have an eager dog looking at his Christmas sack! but it’s too early to be having someone playing with squeaky toys, all I want is too sleep for a bit more but this wind and rain just keeps me awake! ermmm so much for the snow! ;)
Vixzter said on December 25, 2004 08:12:
you 2 either need....
a: kids of your own so you can justify getting up that early
or
b: sleeping pills so that you dont have to get up that early
ally77 said on December 25, 2004 11:20:
Nope just a hyper Jack Russell that sleeps all day and wants to wake you up so early in the morning! lol I’ll lend him to you, he beats any alarm clock!
RoxHard said on December 26, 2004 05:17:
When I TRY to sleep, I go out like a light. But... I can stay up as long as I want without getting tired! It was 10:00am before I went to bed yesterday... woke up at 2pm. And i is now 5:18am, and I’m still WIDE AWAKE! 8-|

I love X-Mas!
But in few minutes it’s over...SO SAD!!!!!!
Kazza said on December 21, 2004 10:02:
Sometimes I wish it were all over, especially because I work in a busy supermarket with people buying so much food you’d think the place was gonna be closed for a month!
And everywhere you go, the queues are longer than usual of course, and everyone is more agitated.
Don’t even get me started on the songs!
