Brazilian band plays Roxette!

There’s a brad-new Brazilian band called Wonkavision that has been playing “Dressed for success” in their concerts.
This is a powerpop band from Porto Alegre (South of Brazil) and they’re influenced by a lot of (power)pop artists from the 60s and the 90s and other things.
They just got a record deal to release their album through this country. Big local artists like Los Hermanos, Pato Fu, Nenhum de Nós and others are Wonkavision fans.
I think it’s really nice that a band that’s about to explode down here plays a song of our dearest duo.
More info at: www.wonkavision.com.br
The website is under construction though...

There are some interesting covers of roxette songs made for Brasilian bands:
IMHBL by Danni Carlos: http://www.submarino.com.br/cds_productdetails.asp?Query=ProductPage&Pro...
A Hardcore version of LTYH by Handal Grave: http://www.submarino.com.br/cds_productdetails.asp?Query=ProductPage&Pro...
and a terrible version of SMT by Cleiton & Camargo (Na hora de Amar(Insensível)): http://www.submarino.com.br/cds_productdetails.asp?Query=ProductPage&Pro...

Hey, I finally got a video (very poor quality) from their performance of “Dressed for success”. The audio is not 100%, but you can hear what it’s about. Is anyone interested in this video?

I would be interested to hear it; any possibility to upload it somewhere?
KixGuy said on June 11, 2005 18:19:
Mary, the video is not very big, as the quality is not the best. It’s about 5MB in Mpeg format. Should I sent it to your e-mail?

Hey KixGuy,
I’m keen on Roxette-versions, and I’d like to receive this video too. Please send it to:
[email protected]
I’m from the Northeast of Brazil, and Wonkavison, “little by little” is getting its place on the Brazilian pop-rock music scene.
Cheers!

I think it is good that other musicians are interested in ROXETTE. Would like to hear their version of DRESSED FOR SUCCESS.
