No doubt of it: Per Gessle was #1 artist of 2003 in Sweden
Written by roxeteer on January 16, 2004 to Per Gessle.
Per Gessle’s “Mazarin” solo album and the single “Här kommer alla känslorna (på en och samma gång)” were major hits last year. You can see that clearly now when award nominations and yearly charts are announced.
Today were the nominations for the Swedish Grammis awards revealed. Per is listed not less than seven times: artist of the year, male artist of the year, album of the year (“Mazarin”), song of the year (“Här kommer alla känslorna”), composer of the year, producer of the year (together with Clarence Öfwerman and Christoffer Lundquist) and lyricist of the year. The awards gala is on February 9 and it will be broadcast on TV4 the next day. News agency TT Spektra tried to contact Per for a comment, but “he was in Africa”.
Other Per’s success stories were: 30 weeks on Svensktoppen charts with “Här kommer alla känslorna”, 22 weeks at #1; Most played song on the Swedish radio; Most sold album of the year (240,000 copies, four times platinum); Third most sold single; Second most sold DVD (“En mazarin, älskling?”).

Africa??... Is this a joke? (my English isn’t that good to let me notice an irony. So, is this for real?)
WOW!! I’m almost thrilled with this grammies waiting for Per!!! I hope he’ll get all of them!!! ALL OF THEM! ALL OF THEM!!!

The Grammis is a boring prize, so it doesn’t matter if Per doesn’t get any of them.

@Max-Tob: He’s probably on vacation in an African country, for example in Egypt, Morocco or South Africa.

A doubt only: is this considering exclusively Swedish albums/singles/DVDs or all domestic and international releases in Sweden by every artist?
Thank you.

There’s an other nomination ’Årets barnalbum: Håkan Bråkan musiksaga’ might goes for Clarence as well, isn’t it?

And “All the Videos...” was the #5 dvd of 2002. And it was at #53 or 56 in 2003 .I always concidered that dvd as a flop. Glad to be wrong.

Per,
Great job!
Hopefully Roxette will be this succesful too when they come back.

Roxette-atic >> all videos was not a flop, it was on the list of most sold music DVD’s on CDON for a year i think...
it’s strange that has not received any platina or gold records... maybe they didnä’t give out them for DVD’s back then....

...or maybe DVDs are just selling more copies now since more people have DVD players with each year that passes?? Dunno! Marie was #21 for the year 2002 with “Antligen Live” but the DVD came out in 2000! And “All The Videos...” came out in 2001... I wonder what its year-end placement would have been if they’d compiled a chart that year?

The guy is superb ... we should be awarded in all those nominations. His lyrics are wondeful, production, composing, everything.

The Grammis is considered to be very unimportant by Swedish artists.

yep...and it seems that Per really was in Africa... He looks so tanned...
But if he was...who took care of Gabriel and the turtle??? Ts ts ts.....The Nanny got a new job...!! :))) Or is Gabriel so smart that he doesn’t need to go to school very often?

Wow... when it rains, it pours. This is exactly as it should be, and yet it almost never turns out that way. Well not this time! I can’t believe the Grammis jury is actually giving a nod to Per this year... after all the times they shut out Roxette! Fantastic, phenomenal, keep it coming!!
