Finnish reality TV idol sings Roxette on CD
Written by roxeteer on January 9, 2004 to Roxette.
HELSINKI - Antti Tuisku, a semi-finalist on the Finnish “Idols” contest, sings “Spending My Time” on a new CD put together of the songs performed during the TV series. The series is based on the very popular international format first shown in the UK with the name “Pop Idol”. In the series a hard-worded jury judges the performances and unmercifully throws out the contestants with not-so-good voices. Tuisku did very well in the series, as he was ranked third and had to go just before the final battle.
The “Idols” final is broadcast live on the Finnish MTV3 channel tonight. The CD is published by BMG and its release date was also today.

In the Spanish’s show “Operación Triunfo” (here is where we choose from one of the winners to perform in the Eurovision song contest) they performed “Dressed for Success”.... and I remember they said that it was really hard to perform... it’s hard to try to be Marie ;)

@Anonymous: You’re right. I corrected the article to say “the UK”.

I care! And many, many people care. It was soo funny to watch wannabe singers who just can’t sing. And of course it was also nice to listen people who knows how to sing. Tuisku’s version of SMT is in the matter of fact, horrible. He made his way to final just because he looks “cute”, or may I say little girls thinks he’s cute.
Btw, Finland made a worldwide Idolsvotingrecod. Over 700 000 vote on last Idols final. That’s huge! Here’s only 5000 000 (5 million) people.

:S The girl that sung It must have been love in the German program sucked big time... it may not seem so .. but Marie’s high notes ARE difficult to reach ;)
Talking bout crap, yesterday I happened to (zapping and I stopped when I heard the guy say “madonna”, thought I would give it a try) listen to a girl in a german program singing Madonna.. I think she was kicked out in the end, but HELL, THAT WAS CRAP!!! I think yesterday it was Madonna + Elton John songs, I HOPE they don’t pick up Roxette songs for one of their programes!!!
HOw can they kill the songs like that? jeez!

Yeah, Judith (sorry, that’s her name ;-)) was really bad - she should have been out since longer, but the German “Guru” Dieter Bohlen seemed to love her and so the people didn’t dare to kick her out till last saturday, it seems!

About the SMT-cover: JUST AWFUL!! Whoa, what did he have for breakfast? A piece of soap?

Yep, Kiwein1, just awful. Antti made his way to finals just because of cute look. Thank god, the winner, Hanna, is a great singer.

You are so right, Judith! It was so terrible. I was praying the whole evening that no one on the 80ies show of Germans Idols had chosen a song of Roxette especially Mr Kübelböck. But one girl did and it was terrible. I think none of these ’popstars’ knows what good music and a good voice is all about.
But that is the problem of these generation. They do not know about it. How could they? Only one hit wonders or digitally mastered voices.
I hate this.
