IMHBL performed by austrian pop idol winner

on friday the final show of the austrian version of pop idol STARMANIA took place. the femal singer, called verena, performed it must have been love and *hurray hurray* she won (maybe because of this nice choice) and in my opinion she did a quite good job!

Well, I didn’t like it at all. But what I disliked even more was the comment of the “jury” that this song has never sounded this good... ts ts ts... that only explains why Austria’s “pop music” is as popular around the world as it is... ;)
(If you want to flame me now because I’m talking bad about Austria, you should know that I wrote this together with and am backed up by an Austrian.. *ggg*)
PS: Has anyone heard “Spending my time” by “Antti Tuisku” (or something) from this Finnish “Idols” thing? That one sounded better, IMHO.

It’s not a bad version at all, but I think the vocal before the bridge is very similar to the vocal on the “Tourism” version... after that, though, it sounds more unique, her voice is a little gravelly and quite suited to rock music, I think, like some people here have already said.

well she got a nickname during the past shows: “rockbitch”... she loves rock/heavy and I think she has/had a rock/ heavy band.
The times I have heard that jury or whatever that guy was he has always given the weirdest of the comments and in the final particularly he said hyper-stupid stuff... and that together with the host Arabella.. was the reason why we only watched certain popstars (not all of them because some sucked big time!)

The version of SMT, by Antti Tuisku is ok on the cd, but the live thingie was just a realy anal-rape of the song. The song starts really good, bringing out his more “male” part of the voice, otherwise he just has this high gay-voice, and it’s just terrible!!!

anyway, I think she was pretty good. I think Roxette brings them luck, the last time Christl and Michi sang The Look and Christl was 2nd and Michi 1st.. so!
I think this is one of the versions from these popstars that I like the most - at least i don’t feel “damn she killed the song”!! She made her own version instead of trying to imitate (difficult) Marie..
