Official Roxette Fanclub? What the hell is going?

Hi there,
I have a question to all of you, visiting this discussion board. So, three weeks ago I ordered from The Official Roxette Fanclub in the Netherlands CD’s for more than 100 € using my credit card. The amount of 512 PLN appeared on the last bill, so the transaction was correct and authorised. I even got an automatic e-mail saying, everything was alright, the order was taken. Everything was alright till the second week. I wrote an e-mail asking if my order was sent to me. NOTHING... I picked up the phone and called them. NOONE PICKED UP THE PHONE. I wrote an e-mail once again. NO REPLY. I called them once again today. NOONE PICKED UP THE PHONE.
I’ve got a question! Is there any possibility to contact the ORF and get a reply? Or you have the same problem with ORF? ORF works this way ? It’s EMBARASING !!!

Kixpl... thanx for the reminder not to buy at the Fanshop; was planning on spending money there but seems things hasn’t changed much!!

ok I have searched in the database for your name and in the inbox for your emails.
I only found 1 email in the inbox from you (from your gazeta.pl email account), sent on 10th, which was answered on 18th, telling you that the order was still pending because some of the items haven’t arrived from Sweden yet.
kixpl said on January 26, 2004 05:50:
Thanks Judith for the answer... just calmed down. Yes, exactly, I wrote twice to [email protected]. I didn’t get any reply, the only one is right now. Thanks, still waiting...

Recommendations:
While you’re at it.. buy yourself a dictionary or USE A SPELL CHECKER.
What’ embarrassing is how piss-poor people’s spelling skills are when they are trying to rant and whine about something.
I don’t know about anyone else here, but you know what? I’M TIRED OF FOLKS BASHING THE FAN CLUB! I have a REAL radical thought... why don’t some of you clowns try to run The Official Roxette Fan Club... Let’s see how well YOU do it! I bet dollars to pesos that you can’t do it.
I only have one SMALL suggestion to the FC:
If, after a respectable amount of time, ALL of the order isn’t there: Send an email asking the individual if they want to wait for ALL of the order or not. Or just inform them that you are waiting for the rest of their order to arrive so that you may ship it together. That will prevent topics like this showing up.
*gets down off soap box and wanders back to the shadows*

@Spooky: Give him a break! He’s from *Poland* for chrissake! I’m a native speaker of English and I misspell “embarrassing” half the time... I’d say it’s pretty impressive how many things he DIDN’T misspell, wouldn’t you?
Jud (moderator) said on January 26, 2004 07:45:
taken from the shop policy site
“Delivery Time
The average delivery time of an order is about 6-8 weeks. However, we have learnt from the past that items do arrive earlier than expected. This is depending on our suppliers, but don’t count on next day delivery. We can’t support that.”
sometimes items are shipped the following week, sometimes it takes longer.. Chantie would love to send it all fast, but sometimes it is just impossible.. :(
Sascha said on January 26, 2004 10:43:
Why is the average delivery time about 6-8 weeks? That’s damn slow!! I could accept it for special promo items but sure not for regular releases!?
pietROxette said on January 26, 2004 15:37:
Probably the reason why the “estimated” delivery is 6-8 weeks is that they don’t have any items in stock (or very limited amount), whenever someone orders an item, they need to order it from Sweden, so the CD is first sent from Sweden to Holland, then from Holland to the country of residence of the buyer.
Recommendation: go to http://www.skivhugget.com and buy it there because:
1: it’s cheap
2: you can see the actualy availability of the item
3: they only charge you when they ship the item (not months in advance, without actually having it)
4: they ship the item very fast (if the FC sends me something, it takes 2 weeks, if it’s Skivhugget, it’s 4 days, pretty werid...)
5: and finally, they bought an online credit card charging system that actually works ;-)
Actually there have been so many complaints about the fanshop... why do people still buy there?
Zargo said on January 26, 2004 15:44:
You’re absolutly write Pietro...
I order something from skivhugget and it only takes one week to get from Sweden to me in Australia, and that’s just great.
On the odd occassion I’m mildly tempted to buy something from the fanclub I see the ’6-8 weeks’ and my mouth drops open.

Spooky, maybe you should consider that for most people on this board english is not their mother tongue, some speak it as second or third language and instead of insulting people for their spelling skills you should appreciate their efforts...how good are your spelling skills in other languages?
Jud (moderator) said on January 26, 2004 16:01:
@kixpl: something must have gone wrong with the email, either yours or the fanclub’s, because we didn’t get your second email and you didn’t get our reply :(
Well, i always try to answer the questions that pop up here.. but you can also contact me at [email protected] if you feel like...
About the delivery times: the fanclub doesn’t have a huge stock.. so (I think) the items that have been released recently *should* be in stock because bigger amounts are ordered (unless there’s suddenly a high demand!).. and the older items are the ones that usually are out of stock.. AND on top of it, the parcels from Sweden take quite long some times :(
You can write to [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] if you want to know if an item is in stock before ordering.
And yes, Skivhugget (hej! :)) and CDON are great online stores:)
HummingBird said on January 26, 2004 16:05:
it’s just sad that the only times someone mentions the fanshop here it’s because someone DIDN’T receive their order. No one ever mentions how many orders actually ARE processed without any complications at all. Whereas, on the other hand, nobody who has a problem with any of the “commercial” internet stores writes their complaints to THIS forum....and I guess that happens a lot, too (judging from my own experience w/ online stores). That’s no criticism, it’s just “mentioning it”.
@kixpl: do you use a spam filter? maybe the email ended up there, that happens A LOT to my recent emails...don’t wanna go into complaining about spam filters though ;-)
LittleSpooky said on January 26, 2004 17:42:
Call me odd, but if you’re going to learn another language, won’t it benefit you to learn it CORRECTLY? I’ve been taking an on and off whack at German and haven’t gotten far because I’ve been making sure that I’m learning HOW TO SPELL. Don’t like it... piss off.
Jud (moderator) said on January 26, 2004 17:50:
“haven’t gotten far because I’ve been making sure that I’m learning HOW TO SPELL” no wonder u didn’t get far, spelling German is one of those impossible missions :D
roxtexanet said on January 26, 2004 17:54:
@Hummingbird: Good point! Everything I get from [email protected] gets swept from my inbox by my spam filter and I have to go and retrieve it from the trash afterwards... maybe it’s anything at all from the roxette.nl domain that gets identified as spam? I use SpamAssassin, by the way...
@LittleSpooky: Sure, spelling is important, but these people aren’t posting their comments so that we can critique their spelling and grammar... if that’s what they wanted, they’d say so. My concern is that when people take a swipe at other people for making errors in spelling or grammar, they won’t feel comfortable posting at all and that’s even worse for somebody who isn’t a native speaker because they won’t even get a chance to practice expressing themselves in English.

I think HummingBird is quite right! I ordered lot of stuff at the FC and never had any problems with getting this! OK, sometimes you have to wait a little longer, but the FC lets you know this right in the beginng, that it can take 6-8 weeks. So what, world’s not crashing if you have to wait! It fits somehow to Roxette anyways! ;)

LOL!!! that was a good one :D

Spooky I am really, really shocked and disappointed! I can´t believe what you said! You have to remember most of us are non-English speakers on TDR!
What´s wrong with you nowadays?
Jud (moderator) said on January 26, 2004 19:49:
I have moved the old “Fanclub problems” thread (http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/8561) to the Market Place forum to make it easier for ppl to find it.. at least it shouldn’t move to the 10th page so easily and well it is about selling/buying anyway :) I hope that’s fine with everyone!
If you have any question or problem regarding the fanshop, please use this one here: http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/8561 THANKS!!!
And since this thread seems to be going “off-topic”.. I feel tempted to close it ;)
DaminehGessle said on January 27, 2004 18:11:
I have never had any problems with the Fan Club so I can’t really comment on other people’s problems I guess. All I have ordered I have received earlier than expected considering the fact that I live very far!!!
It’s very sad how self-centred people could get eh? What you said is the reason to why French do not speak English when you travel there because they are afraid of making mistakes. One should make mistakes to learn!! It’s very selfish of you to think that everyone should speak and spell English perfectly. I can say that a non-English speaker is better than grammar than an English speaker. Does that mean that the English speaker should shut up not to make grammatical errors? It’s ok to make mistakes. Instead of criticizing people on their spelling and correcting their English skills, give yourself a favour and correct your attitude. It would take you further in life than speaking correct English.

We have a new SmallTalk section called “Market Place” that was up and running at the time this thread was started. Since the topic of this Discussion is buying merchandise from the Netherlands-based FanShop... we’re moving it from “Roxette” to “Market Place.”
It should be noted (as her comment above could be confusing to anyone who did not know) that Judith, who serves as a moderator in TDR’s SmallTalk forums, also works with the OIRFC... and that’s why she was able to check their in/out email box.
As mentioned above, please use the OTHER “Fanclub” thread now located in the “Market Place” forum for further discussion of problems with their service (fulfillment issues).
Finally, The Daily Roxette appreciates the fact that we’ve become a valuable resource for fans around the world... and we’re thankful for ANY and ALL attempts to read our ’newspaper’ – especially when English is not your native language. Since writing in a foreign language is the MOST difficult task (Read > Speak > Write), we’re inclined to be especially grateful when our “readers” become “writers” and submit news articles, comment on the articles we publish, and participate in SmallTalk discussions.
