No way will this sell... far to high the prices.. DP £30 reserve... I recently bought a copy for £5 on eBay from Sweden... sold it on for £21... nice profit... but these starting prices... no chance!
Denstandigaresan said on January 14, 2004 23:54:
Ally, it’s £30 reserve not met! I’d hate to see what the reserve actually is!
felicity-brown said on January 15, 2004 00:13:
Maybe this greedy seller will have his/her reserves met by some foolish buyer! *sighs*

you might all think i’m being greedy, but if you dont want to pay it don’t bid...it’s no skin off my nose. FYI...i paid £75 for DP about 10 yrs ago. Maybe its a sign of roxette’s waning popularity, that these items are worth less now....but another example i paid £35 for the soul deep 7” and £40 for the efter stormen 7”. It’s not I want to sell these items, but need some extra cash...however i think i have the right to ask what I think they are worth....if the bids don’t reach that price then i am not willing to sell them..simple as that. I’m still a roxette fan with a very big collection, just want to raise some cash...with the autographs, i have quite a few anyway so i dont mind selling a few, and the vinyl i am simply holding onto for sentimental value as i dont even have a record player.
Anyway, I’ve said my piece....if you don’t want to pay, don’t buy it, i’ll be happy to keep the items and raise some cash another way!

When you brought your stuff 10 years ago it probably was worth that.
Now....its most likely not, same happend to me....I brought stuff ten years ago that today is probably going for half of what I brought it for.....sometimes less. I paid £60 for DP vinyl in 1991....that was the going rate....I see it on ebay these days for £20 or so. It’s not wanning popularity....its just coz theres more available....and most people who want one have already got one.
If someone wants something bad enough they’ll buy it at any price.
The internet has made things more available......12-13 years ago I collected my stuff at record fairs.....that was near enough the only place to buy rare stuff.....now theres all sorts of traders and auctions on the internet.

So glad I did not buy DP at those prices.. remember I was tempted many years ago!
Vixzter said on January 15, 2004 17:07:
I paid £40 for my PoP LP, but that was going rate at record fairs back then and Rox stuff was all I ever spent my money on.
Denstandigaresan said on January 15, 2004 19:16:
£50 for my PoP... rip off then! But because I paid bit by bit, didn’t really notice. Wouldn’t do it again, cause I know they’re not worth that anymore!
Vixzter said on January 15, 2004 19:24:
But thats a price u were willing to pay to have something then.......now its all different......the internet has made collecting easier and in some ways maybe de-valued stuff.

I just wanna say that I don’t think the prices has so very much to do with waning popularity. A bit maybe, but not completely. I think it is more how “crazy” some people are for the moment. Prices goes up and down all the time. Some time ago some people paid $90-$100 for a Rarities CD. Nowadays you can get them for $10. But today for instance I saw the craziest thing I’ve ever seen on Ebay. Someone paid $102 for a US Dangerous promo CD!!!! Help!!! But I’m sure you can get that one as well for about $15-$20 after a while.

I think that roughly said you can count for each star according to the book somewhat around 10 dollars or 10 euros. Ofcourse, it’s just what you want to pay for it, and if you’re looking for an item a very long time, you want to pay more, if you find it! But that’s how I calculate if the price which is being asked for, is reasonable or not. Sometimes you get things very cheap (I bought a 7* for $3.50, postage not included), but sometimes they ask rediculas prices for some items!
Susi said on January 28, 2004 10:09:
Well, I would never pay 10 dollars/Euros for each star in the book... While the book is (most of the time) a great reference for what releases exist, the author is not god either and graded the items after his experience. So if a record has a 3 in the book, personally I don’t pay 30 dollars for such a thing... It might take a bit longer to find something but well, I’m patient. ;)
But that’s just my opinion. :)
per_mson said on January 28, 2004 13:24:
I have to agree with Susi here! I also think the book is a great reference and have helped me out many times to see what exists and not. But as stated in the beginning of the book the stars are graded according to the authors experience and of the view from the swedish market. So there are quite some stuff that has a 2 in the book I would say is at least 4 and stuff that has a 4-5 that I think should have a 2. It is really personal how you see on those things. So saying that each star is worth $10 is not true for me either.

High reserves! For instance, Joyride 7”, can pick that up for pennies... I have loads of them, never paid more than 70p... £5 reserve not met? Oj.
