No not at all... I was singning Flickorna På TV2 while studying. Someone asked me what I was singing and I said Gyllene Tider, the way it’s pronounced. He thought I listen to aliens or something :D.

Yes! Here it’s pretty popular, especially Swedish speaking cities. And everybody here knows Sommartider.

Nobody, except die-hard Roxette fans know about GT here in New Zealand. :(

Well, don’t know how surprising this may sound or not, but I sure was like WOW! O_O Not so long ago, just out of curiosity, I was browsing through those TV text pages, to see if they had any Roxette ringtones, and, what wasn’t my surprise to, in the 80’s classics category, find Gyllene Tider’s “Sommartider”!!! 8-) I mean, guess that wouldn’t amaze me, if it wasn’t for the single detail that it is a Portuguese TV! O_O WOW again!!...
(Do I see a smile by tevensso by now? :P)

There is a UK only ringtone site, that has Gyllene Tider tones.

I can’t find it. :o They’ve also got Patrik Isaksson. I’ll keep looking.

...and Mari is talking about Finland. I wouldn’t say they are famous here. Many people know this “Sommartiden-or-what-was-it” song, but Gyllene Tider itself isn’t famous. The Swedish speaking Finns are listening to Swedish music more than an average Finn (naturally) and that’s why you can consider GT to be famous among them. However, Swedish Finns are only a small minority of people, 6% of the population of five million.

They would be much bigger if Per ever released the GT-songs that has been translated into English... (Beating heart, Play with fire and others...) Don´t know how many there are, I´ve heard some years ago it would be like 12-13, anyone who knows more? Per?
Release them in ´04 and have a hit in the rest of the world...
tevensso (moderator) said on October 25, 2003 00:24:
Gyllene Tider’s unreleased material in English wouldn’t be any hits, trust me.
porrtalen said on October 25, 2003 07:36:
I didn´t say any of the individual songs would be a hit, but I really think it would sell a shitload of copies...
At least it would be free money for PG...
And he could surely use it ;-)
Besides... Genius gone wrong, Gyllene version is a great song... Much better than the Lonely boys version...
Love your site by the way...
