How many sales did “THE POP HITS” & “THE BALLAD HITS” do?

The Ballad Hits over 1 million, but I’m pretty sure The Pop Hits didn’t sell that much.

Good question. Looking at the charts, I have a feeling that ’The Pop Hits’ sold a bit less than ’The Ballad Hits.’ But maybe I’m wrong. Capitol confirmed 1 million units for ’The Ballad Hits’ but hasn’t mentioned sales of ’The Pop Hits’ as far as I know.

I’m pretty sure that sales of TBH will increase as x-mas is getting closer and closer ;-)

Ally77: Joyride? In 1991 the internet and cd burners didn’t have an impact yet. If the Joyride hype was now they’d probably not sell more than 6 million copies...

Are you saying that first Dido’s album would have sold 21 million copies (instead of 15) if it had been released 12 years ago?

In terms of sales figures today, I think it also depends on the act. Some acts have very loyal fan bases that will buy the album regardless.
