DUBLIN?

Anyone been or living in Dublin, if so what is it like? Thinking of going out there for a couple of days for a break around November time! I guess it would make a change from Sweden!

I was there last summer for a few days during my holiday. I travelled around the whole island by car and it was extremely nice!! That I can really recommend to people who like nature!! :-)
But Dublin.. hmm.. well, I honestly think it was bit boring. The city tour by bus was a bit fun, but after a day it feels like you have seen it all. So for more than a weekend I don´t want to recommend it.

Yeah thanx.... I have found some cheap flights on line, I could go for 2 days or I could even just fly over for the day to ge the feel of, it really is only a xmas shopping type trip!

Well, in that case I could maybe recommend it after all. There are two bigger shopping streets and you can always visit the Guinness Brewery! ;)

I hate that drink!

Hmmm, I actually do as well...

The irish people are very relaxed. One of the nicest countries I have been too.
Dublin has a nice city-centre with loads of pubs.
I am sure you will enjoy it.
If you have more time, also go to the atlantic coast to see the Cliffs of Moher (very impressive) or ride the ring of Kerry, kiss the blarney stone or watch the Burren-area or enjoy the nice city of Kilkenny.

Hi, I only saw this thread now... I’m living in Dublin myself, have been here for more than 5 years now and I must say, it took me some time to get used to it, but now I just love it. I feels like home to me. Dublin is always gonna be my base, no matter where I am gonna move to in the next years, I know, I will always come back to Dublin at some stage in my life.
A lot of people however get quite disapointed by Dublin, they xpect too much. It is a nice and relaxed City, it has got a fun night life and lots of Pubs. If you ever come here, make sure to visit “Temple Bar”. It is a smal area in Dublin CC with lots of Pubs and Entertainment. The best shopping street would have to be “Graffton Street”, there is alwyas lots of GOOD life music play ed on the street... and other shows of entertainment. I just love it!!! ;-)
