What do you guys think of this German Songwirter Producer from the 80s who’s still making tunes today.
I am not familiar with all of his work cuz he’s done so much, but I still heard a lot.
I really like his Project CC Catch (“I Can Lose My Heart Tonight”,”Heartbreak Hotel”, “Jump In My Car”, “Are You Man Enogh”, “Heaven and Hell”, “Backseat of My Caddilac”.....).
Also, Modern Talking, whose “You’re My Heart You’re My Soul” is an Unforgetable Claasic of 80’s Pop/Disco. I have their “Alone”, “Year of the Dragon” and “America” albums form the 90’s, and they are all very nice :-)
And of course Dieter himseld in Blue System. Not very familiar with this, but “Laila”, “Magic Symphony”, and “Taxi Girl” are IMO Very Good songs.
Any Fans here?

I don’t think that their lyrics are Crappy.
The only Problem That I have with most of his Projects are Bad Vocals.
CC Catch Woman has a strong German Accent.
Dieter Bohlen himself is the singer for Blue System, and his voice is too harsh.
Thomas Anders is the singer for Modern Talking, and I think his voice is too Sensitive.
But I think Most of the lyrics are Very Good, Uplifting, and Very Romantic at times.
I would Strongly Recommend People who like Roxette, to hear some CC CATCH Songs, like “I Can Lose My Heart Tonight”, “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Strangers By NIght”, “Jump in My Car” “Heaven and Hell”, “Are You Man Enough”. Some of these have some nice Electric Guitar Parts, but they are mostly Disco/Dance. IMHO They are all Very Good.

Of course. They are Old-Timers. Dance songs about Love. Their “You’re a Woman” song is one of my all time favorite 80’s Disco Love songs. Not to mention “Don’t Walk Away Suzanne” or “A World Without You Michelle”, “Come Back and Stay”.Their Stuff from the 90’s is also Very Good. I Really like some of the songs from their Tonite, Continued, and Follow the Light albums :-)
By the way, they are going to release a new album, called Around the World. I think the whole album was produced by Bros Music Writer David Brandes (better known for his other more sexually charged project, if you know what I mean).
I think it will be the usual BBB stuff- Sentimental Dance Songs about Love, and a few Ballads here and there :-)
Their songs can be Corny at times, But I don’t really mind. :-)

Weak Lyrics you say? Well, a lot of people would say that Roxette’s (Per’s) lyrics were Weak and Shallow. So What? Both Per and Dieter Do not write songs in their own language, and their Lyrics still tend to be more Beautiful than those of many English-Speaking artists LOL
Numbers Speak for themselves! It’s got nothing (absolutely Nothing) to do with Marketing. People Love to listen and Dance to his music. It reaaches their soul, and it’s also great to dance to.
Coldpaly, now that’s Marketing of Rich American Record Companies, they control MTV, VH1 and Radio Stations. They made the whole world listen to that Boring Music LOL Not to mention stuff like Britney, Christina, Avril Lavigne, Eminem, Beyone ..... LOL, now that’s Marketing of Cheap Pop trash.
Dieter’s Music was never marketed this way on the world scale, and that’s a Fact.So don’t blame it on the Marketing.
Dieter in his Career wrote Hundreds of Hits for Many artists
Modern talking like 10 albums spanning 80’s and 90’s!!!
Blue System also 10 albums with him Singing!!!!

And these are not even All of his projects. I don’t even know all the Projects that he wrote music for.
How could anyone say that his music is bad?
He’s a Self Made Musician, Unlike the likes of Madonna, who rely on other people’s material.

A REAL Roxette Fan would never say stuff like “Lyrics are Weak”, considering that Rox’s lyrics were not “intellectual” type either.

See that’s the whole point. People who live outside of Germany can Appreciate Dieter for the music that he writes not all that Other personal stuff. In fact MT’s and Blue System’s musical popularity was higher in Asia and former Soviet Union :)
I personally think that “Popstars”, DSDS whatever, is NOT the “Highpoint” of Dieter’s Career. I assume it’s like American Idol...Lol probably Better cuz Dieter’s there not that British Loser Simon (who the heck is he anyway).
BTW Dieter’s girlfriend is a Hottie. I think I saw her pic on some website :)
