Best of TECHNO & Dance :)

So what would you consider as the most ultimate techno music performers of all time? I know the acts don’t last that long but are there any that would qualify as good and entertaining...?

I go for

Cappella
- “Move On Baby”, “U Got 2 Let The Music”, “U & Me” etc... Italy really knew how to do it...One of the best dance acts ever! :D

2 Unlimited
- Oh my..Great melodies & very varied. Love it (still).

Culture Beat
- Too bad they (or actually Cappella & 2 Unlimited, too) changed their looks...Tanya really rocked! Glorious times those 1993-96... Ah!

I love this style.
classics:
La Bouche: Be My Lover (Melanie Thornton R.I.P. :(
Culture Beat: Take Me Away
Alexia: Me & U
Double You: Part-time Lover
U96: Club Bizarre
E-Type: Set The World On Fire
Silent Circle: 2nite
Real Mc Coy: Run Away
Fun Factory: Pain
anything from Modern Talking + Bad Boys Blue
etc.

I quite like Bomfunks Mc’s.... does this count....

My favourites would be...

Bomfunk MCs
La Bouche
Real McCoy
Sash
Darude
Delirium

Hmmm I wouldn’t call LaBouche or any act like them techno. Techno has become such a clique catch all term. Way over used label. It seems be be used with anyone singing over a drum machine. Techno to me is true club/rave music. You wouldn’t hear LaBouche a german act , at the Mayday rave in Berlin. If you hear vocals in a techno song ..... they better be sampled!!!

Some of the early great techno acts andn the best songs.
Joey Beltram Energy Flash
T99 (though only for the song Anathasia)
Cubik 22 - Night in Motion
Human Resouce - Dominator

These days techno is split into many subgenres....
Breaks, Trance, Gabber(yuck) and so many more...

The DJ is more known that any of the acts when it comes to Techno. Just pick up any compliation with the label Global Underground and you will hear the techno of today....

Ps... LaBouche and Cappella I would label as Euroclub.

I’m not going to dismiss that type of music or those artists at all... I liked that stuff too... I just wouldn’t call it techno.

You are right.

Some of my faves not mentioned earlier:

Haddaway: What Is Love?
USURA: Open Your Mind
Dr. Alban: It’s My Life
Captain Hollywood Project: Only with you
LA Style: I’m Raving & James Brown is dead
The Happy Clappers: I Believe
The Shamen: Move any Mountain
SNAP: Rhythm is a Dancer
GRID: Texas Cowboy

everyone forgot erasure!

everyone forgot erasure!

Erasure are hardly played anymore. I might be wrong of course.

Storm

iv forgotten erasure *who*trance .techno.iv only got 300 singles and some cds

Back those days, I really enjoyed Dr. Alban. I actually stopped short of buying a record by him.
