TPH in OZ!
Hotblooded said on April 23, 2003 05:30:
Well I went in to buy it today at HMV in the city and just as I thought it was only in the Roxette section and at least they had it under a ’NEW’ yellow sign but to my disappointment it was $35.95 OUCH! And $31.95 without the limited edition ep still very expensive. At least it was there, I managed to sneak a few copies over to the charts section appropriately covering the No 1 album ’Norah Jones’ ;)
The booklet is of such high quality I’m very impressed and as far as the new songs go, they are really good but I would have liked something better for the bonus ep at least a bit more uptempo. I think Makin love to you is the highlight on the bonus disk and LMS is better than ON which loses its flavour quickly at least it has for me!

I found it today in Sanity in Bourke Street Melbourne for $30.95 but only the single cd version...
No sign of it in HMV just up the street though they do have both versions on order for early next week...

well i checked 2 sanity stores in newcastle on Tuesday (the day after release) and both used the public holiday the day b4 as an excuse for not having TPH. I checked with one of them on thurs, they had a copy of the non limited edition on the counter for $30.95 i think, but i had to order the limited ed for about $36 - better late than never!!
Also i checked 2 Big W stores around the release date, but they didnt have it, again one of them used the holiday as an excuse! Im sure that it was available in syd b4 the easter weekend wasnt it?

Well EMI sent me the promo video for OP NOX.
So Look out for it on the telly.
Dave
RobS said on April 29, 2003 08:06:
what do u mean a promo vid?
Are they actually thinking about releasing it to radio/TV?? If so, i hope they help it along with some promo etc.
BTW- LMS is a great song!!!
Hotblooded said on April 29, 2003 11:21:
They sent you the video, cool!
Should we be requesting it on Video Hits? What do they plan to do with it? Probably nothing but it would be cool to see it on TV. Listening to the album I really love LMS as well, great song! Much prefer it to ON, I think when Roxette use real instruments and no fake drum beats etc... they are at their best!
RobS said on May 7, 2003 08:19:
I Found 4 copies of TPH at Big W - this is the first album i’ve seen there since CBB!!
Hopefully when i go there next week there won’t be any left!
ditroia said on May 9, 2003 02:17:
Ye EMi Oz sent me the video, i din;t ask for it they just said they were sending it.
I can send anyone a scan of the label if they want.
I would say there were copies going to Video hits/rage/ etc all the cable ones like V & MTV.
I went to the Video Hits site on www.ten.com.au but there is no voting form like there used to be.
I also t hink there might be some NOX promo cd’s floating about.
So if your friendly with a radio station, you might ask if they have it.

BUMP
Here’s the last email I got from EMI
Hi David
How’s it going? Thanks for your email.
The standard album has been made in Australia, the limited edition was brought in from Europe as finished stock.
I’ve got a VHS of the film clip Opportunity Nox that I’m posting to the address below!
Hope you are still at this address!
Cheers
Vicky
PS I know it’s hard being a fan in Australia but we are really limited given that radio stations/ TV stations here will only play certain things - our hands are really tied but we do try but it’s very hard.
____
Yeah Riiiight
Dave
RobS said on May 9, 2003 07:01:
what’s she mean “finished stock”?
It’s nice to know that they “try”, maybe they could try just a little bit harder and actually do some promo like they did in the UK.
How exactly is giving a promo video/cd to a tv/radio station gonna get anywhere if they don’t give them a reason to play it.
imazombieinthem... said on May 9, 2003 09:16:
There’s no ON on rage this weekend. If VH do play it its going to say “album only” which I guess is a good thing :) EMI would of done a very low press run of TPH, not expecting any success. Why cant they do one tv ad for both TBH and TPH? We really don’t need a single at all, YDUM bombed and DBUGTTC sold very well with just the ads.
ditroia said on May 9, 2003 10:02:
Yeah after DBUGTTC had been on the market for 6 moths and I picked it up for $16.95 on Xmas 1995.
EMI Should promote the Ballad Hits to tie into Mothersday and put together a TBH & TPH Box.

TPH came out last week in NZ
At first I was disappointed because when I went into the Cd store, I went straight to the Pop/Rock section and looked ubder R but no TPH just LS.
I was about to walk up to the counter and ask, when to my surprise I saw it in the new release section, one solitary copy (limited edition). It’s been so long since I’ve ever seen Roxette in the new release section (DBUGTTC). The guy at the counter said they have one more copy out the back (single disc).
No ON single though, oh well I might have to try ebay.
RobS said on May 19, 2003 08:38:
Big W had 4 copies 2 weeks ago, and now they have only 1!
So there is at least 3 other people around here that like Rox as well :)
Hotblooded said on May 19, 2003 10:51:
I saw quite a few copies today at my Big W and I’ve actually seen the Pop Hits everywhere lately, there was no such distribution with the Ballad Hits I just wish they’d done some promotion!
squigger said on May 21, 2003 04:13:
Both TPH and TBH quietly turned up in my local retailer, for $30 - but of course neither had the EPs, which are the only reason for buying either album...
ditroia said on May 21, 2003 11:46:
Next Time I go into town I’ll Have a Look
Last I checked tho Borders had 4 copies.
Dave
Hotblooded said on May 22, 2003 03:08:
BTW at Big W TPH is only $20.82 of course that is without the ep but still good compared to $31.95 at HMV.
MrMG said on May 23, 2003 07:34:
I bought TPH in Sanity Rockingham last month.
I paid $31.00.
It wasn’t the EP.
Got Look Sharp! on CD for $13.00 from Sanity too.
imazombieinthem... said on May 23, 2003 08:26:
Yea, Sanity dont seem to be stocking the limited edition of TPH in Perth. MrMG if your chasing one, try Harmony Music at Garden City, thats where I got mine after looking around the big music stores like Sanity. I think it was $35.99
ditroia said on May 23, 2003 10:07:
Although I haven’t checked extensivly I only saw one copy of the Ep version in Adelaide which I picked up.
Dave
P.S. David Jones has 2 copies of HAND.
bradhdyd said on June 7, 2003 12:23:
Last week (31/5) i went into my local Big W store in Newcastle (NSW, Australia) and they had 8 copies of TPH there. Today (6/6) i went in there again and they had 9 copies and they had moved them into the Top 30 Section at number 2 !!
RobS said on June 8, 2003 23:59:
Maybe TPH is selling more than i thought it would. I wouldn’t think BigW would get so many copies if it wasn’t going to sell ok?
ditroia said on June 10, 2003 02:38:
Compilitations usually sell quite well, and DBU-GTTC did Fantastic here in australia.
Dave
bradhdyd said on June 21, 2003 14:17:
TPH in Big W has now been moved to the ’bargain’ section, about 6 or so copies, its about $20 australian dollars - its not the limited edition either.
rezmad said on June 23, 2003 03:27:
I’ve seen it on the shelves of quite few places around Melbourne.. but no-body has the EP edition.. it appears you have to order it in if you want it as everywhere I’ve checked that has beent he case upon asking.
ditroia said on June 23, 2003 13:47:
I’ve Seen TPH 2 C set at two stores in Sa of the Smae Chain.

Hotblooded said on June 24, 2003 06:03:
I saw two pop hits at Borders here in Sydney that were the limited edition, actually it is everywhere pretty much!
I was looking in ’Juice’ magazine and was surprised to see they had reviewed TPH they gave them 5/10 which is actually really good for that mag cause they normally slag them off big-time! The review wasn’t too bad either, check it out fellow Aussie fans!
RobS said on April 23, 2003 08:35:
You mean you actually saw a copy of the elusive Australian release of TPH!!
I was in Sydney on holidays on the release date and never saw any copies at the shops i went to, or even at home - so i just gave up and ordered it online - i figured either way i’m gonna have to wait a week for it too come, it may as well come to my doorstep :)
To my surprise the local sanity has finally got the oz version of TBH - and only 5 months late!
BTW has anyone noticed that HMV are rip offs??
