thnx who ever authorised me to start this topic!! hopefully most of you have picked up the vague idea of this from front page tdr...
basically someone proposed that a new group was started with the same idea of A teens (ie. abba teens) as people seem to think “Roxette need some fresh and vital members who can perform a song like Joyride on stage. They can also re-release some successful hits in new style (like the A-teens). This ballad-hits and pop-hits albums were not a good idea. Many of us knew that it wouldn’t work.” (sorry i don’t know who posted this!!)

What a truely cringeworthy suggestion. I cannot summon a single word in the English language to describe how vomit inducing this idea really is to me.
And the Ballad & Pop Hits albums were far from a bad idea. They have sold great numbers in many territories and even attained Gold status in some.
Plus they provided fans with the oppotrunity to hear new and demo material.
Awful idea.. just awful.

@steven, i never suggested it, just took part in conversation (http://www2.dailyroxette.com/article.php/1254#comments) in which it was suggested and got chosen to start topic in here... i’ve never said i agree with it! also i don’t see how it would make roxette more popular in the us and uk because abba were already more popular in these countries than roxette are and a-teens still aren’t particularly popular...

To start a Rox-Teens group is like... to bury Roxette. Anyway, after 17 years of their career we’ve got a new rox-style in music (hard to describe - but easy to recognize). I think there will be lot’s of people trying to write in this style!

A-Teens can get away with it because Abba isn’t working together anymore. Why bother having a “Rox-Teens” while Roxette still play? Besides, nothing will ever be as good as the original. Not even my own Rox covers.
