help to figure out why I dislike some Rox songs

Î was a real Roxette fanatic from about 1994-1998. There is still no single Rox song from Pearls of Passion to DBUGTTC that I dislike (except Neverending Love and the chorus of June Afternoon, perhaps).
That’s why when HAND came out it was quite a shock for me to realize that there are some songs that got on my nerves from the first listening (especially Crush on you). In Room Service the song I still can not listen to is Real Sugar and to lesser extent Make my head go pop. Also the latest single - Opportunity Nox - really hurts my ears.
Is there anything about these songs that make them in any way radically different from the “older” Roxette up-tempo’s? How can I explain why I like The Look, Joyride, Sleeping in my car, Stars - but dislike the songs I mentioned(COY, RS, ON)? Is it just me who finds these songs unbearably ear-piercing and over repetitive?

It’s not an unsolved mistery.
It happened to every successful artist in the world...
For example, the album “Pop” was a big shock for the U2 fans, because the song “Discoteque” was quite stupid and then “Sweet thing”...
So I think Roxette wanted to change their style a little, it was a wrong step, but I still loved it, there are some songs that deserve to be cosidered as masterpieces (SATG, WICF, Salvation, IWSL). Of course, the first time I heard HAND was a shock for me too, but I’m getting used to these kind of things in the music market...

You’re in good company, I also like their older songs and hate some new ones.
